im removing my backround around these buttons , i save as png image which i believe then should add too a page as only the image not a square canvas.
how to get rid of the square part leaving only the buttons.

What I am trying to achieve is that the the part (lat image) of the left square that you see slanted, should be cut away, so that the cut on the right be inline(45deg_) with the cut on the left...
I tried all the different cutting/trimming techniques but nothing does what I want..
So im attempting to square part of a rounded square, but leave some sides curved. The problem is I've got a small square to cover the curved square and I have aligned it and yet there is a blured edge that shows its not in line.

When I use the square selection tool, the selection edges are rounded rather than square. I can't remember how to rset this.
How do you make the edges square by default?
I'm using CS3 with a new computer and a 17in crt monitor. I set the monitor resolution via windows to 1280x1024. Made a 4 in square in Photoshop. It's square. When I change the resolution to anything less than 1280x1024 the square is taller than wide. It still shows 4x4 inches with the rulers.

But some wires in sky, it's leaving an outline that is no better than the wires themselves.
I have used the free transform and/or transform scale many times, and have never had it leave a line. I must have changed something , but can't figure it out. Have played around with the refine edges, and can't seem to make it go away. I am using CS3, and make my selection, then go to stretch it. When I deselect, there is a thin line on the bottom of where the selection was. Why is this happening?

Each time I restart the program it is re-installing the effect as if it's a new install. Any change done in preference window is not taken into consideration. I understood that this is because Photoshop is trying to save on root directory, which is not possible as protected. How can I change the right or tell photoshop to save the preference file somewhere else? I use Mountain Lion.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm missing a very important feature since I switched from CS4 to CS 5.5: In Photoshop CS4, when you created a path in another and selected the path, the inner path was left blank (Creating an "o" and selecting it got you the selection in shape of an o).
Now, as I'm using CS5.5, Photoshop totally ignores those inner paths and makes one big selection (example: [URL] ....]. I have to put big industrial machines on transparent background, and now I have to create dozens of paths for every little hole and then must put them together manually, which takes a lot of time.
How to remove all the people out of the picture attached just leaving the back ground image?

I have been trying to create a preset that updates the Process Version to 2012, changes contrast, highlights and shadows, but leaves the Exposure unchanged.
So, I change the Process Version to 2012, set the sliders for contrast, highlights and shadows where I want, and then I create the preset, leaving Exposure (and a bunch of other things) unchecked.
Then, I apply the preset to a photo that is currently Process Version 2010. The process version, contrast, highlights and shadows all change as expected, but the Exposure goes to zero.
Would this be a problem when exporting, sculpting, final rendering etc. Or would i have to rebuild the edges?
