I loaded my legacy actions to Photoshop CC. They worked as usual until I loaded the PShop updater today. One of my own custom actions is F5 which adds a darken only layer. F5 now deletes the currently selected layer. I have looked though the keyboard command menus, and see MANY key command options.
I still am not seeing an F5Â command to delete layer. Not sure how many other key commands have been added. I can foresee some very uninted results with actions I have spec'd that may now be superseded by new key commands. There seems to be a legacy option, but the interface to all of this seems a bit complex.
Capture the following keyboard commands:
CTRL + A
EDIT > TRANSFORM > FLIP HORIZONTAL
CTRL + D
And save it as an Action called am_Flip_Horizontal.atn. Then how would I go about loading that action automatically each time PS boots and assigning a keyboard shortcut to it (say, CTRL + /) ?
I notice that some Actions are black, some are red. Some have a checkmarks and others have toggle icons. I think I have the concept down, but just not the how-to knowledge.
Is there a way to easily and quickly extract all commands listed as well as the icons? I hate pressing F8 at startup!

I have figured out how to remove the background however when I try to adjust my image size it is still adjusting my canvas size.Â

Let's assume I have 250 files, all needing lens correction (and maybe other common tweaks) as a basic first step. I'd like to be able to record an action that
(1) opens my NEF file in ACR;
(2) makes the lens correction based on the profile for the particular lens I used;
(3) [other tweak--say noise reduction];
(4) [other tweak--say color temperature]; and then
(5) closes the file generating nothing but the .xmp file.

Then when I go to work on each file, all my basic corrections have been made so that when I reopen later in ACR, I only have to make custom changes before finally opening in Photoshop.I've tried a few things, scanned the forums, checked the online help center, gone through a few Adobe TV tutorials, but I can't figure out how to do it.
I have cs6 and I can't open any actions that have an ATN file format.Â

The slide show software does not offer the ability to place the image number anywhere on the image. Is there someway to write an action in Photoshop that will grab the image name and place it where I designate on the image? I have frozen all layers accept the layer I require and have then tried to use the dxf out command, however the created dxf file still contains all of the other layers. View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
In an effort to keep a sort of "script" of my project I am hoping that there is some way to extract all the titles in a project file as a single text file? Have installed X6 Pro and like it.

We have a bunch of dwg files. The requirement is to extract a specific list of attributes from the layers within CAD to a csv file. We are currently manually opening the dwg using AutoCAD and exporting the attributes. This has been time consuming and we need a faster process.
What options do I have to programmtically extract them?
If a drawing is opened by another user, I want to retrieve the name of that user. I presume that is in the dwl locking file. I I can't find any info on this topic. How do I read/extract the user name from a dwl file with .NET/c#?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI made my plug-in for Autocad 2012.I register my plug-in in registry and so it's autoloaded.If I open Autocad I saw my toolbar, my message from IExtensionApplication.Initialize and all my commands (marked as [assembly: CommandClass) works fine. No problem.
BUT! If I open autocad file by double click - autocad opened. Now I saw my toolbar, saw my message from Initialize!But any commands didn't work. Autocad said that command is unknown. What can be a problem? My be in Autocad version? I have student version and startup message about it.
Is there a good reference that deals with command line formats in scripts?
I'm trying to create a script from an Excel file with a sequence of line commands. However, it seems I have to add a blank line in between each one to end the input. Is there something I can add at the end to avoid having to insert blank lines?
Also have the same problem with the -layer set command.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
