AutoCAD Inventor :: Best Format For Neutral File Format For Exporting / Importing 3D Files?
Sep 25, 2013What is the best export/import format for sending 3D files. I need some neutral format files, possibly Solidworks but I am not sure. Also any export settings to make sure I get decent quality files.
Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.

May 25, 2013Have some photos of a warehouse fire in Plymouth Indiana. Files were saved as .jpg Can't get them to open.
One message is "Pain't cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or it's format is not currently supported." Couldn’t display DSC-0023.jpg because a suitable graphics importer could not be found.

May 30, 2012I am trying to open a video to edit within Photoshop CS6 x64. I am getting the following message:-
Could not place the document ‘IMG_1664.MOV’ because no parser or file format can open the file.
The video was shot on my iphone 4S and ive even tried converting to other formats yet Photoshop still gives the same error. I have checked through Bridge and I have no option to send to Photoshop on the right click menu. try out the new features of CS6 for video editing.
I am running a 27" iMac with 12gb RAM and 1gb of Video RAM.

Dec 5, 2012I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?

Oct 26, 2012Is it possible to record certain actions on a raw file without opening the file in Photoshop?
Let's assume I have 250 files, all needing lens correction (and maybe other common tweaks) as a basic first step. I'd like to be able to record an action that
(1) opens my NEF file in ACR;
(2) makes the lens correction based on the profile for the particular lens I used;
(3) [other tweak--say noise reduction];
(4) [other tweak--say color temperature]; and then
(5) closes the file generating nothing but the .xmp file.
Then when I go to work on each file, all my basic corrections have been made so that when I reopen later in ACR, I only have to make custom changes before finally opening in Photoshop.I've tried a few things, scanned the forums, checked the online help center, gone through a few Adobe TV tutorials, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Mar 6, 2013I am getting this popup error when trying to open a .gif file:
"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file."
This comes up every time I try to open a .gif file. Even if I make a .gif file (like the image included in this post), save it and then try to open it again, I get the same error. I tried reinstalling CS4, but the error is still there. I have also done the reset on start-up and nothing. Some have suggested that I open it in (Windows XP Pro) MS Paint and then save it again. Did it and this does NOT work for me, either.

Jun 15, 2004I'm using Photoshop and the Fit Image command to resize my images for a slide show program. The slide show software does not offer the ability to place the image number anywhere on the image. Is there someway to write an action in Photoshop that will grab the image name and place it where I designate on the image? Even stretching the canvas and filling with black and placing the name there would work. I'm not sure if this is possible or if I need to find an Apple Script to do this.

Photoshop :: Actions Stopped Working After Downloading More Actions
Aug 31, 2004I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and thats when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit load actions and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldnt find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just dont run.
Im a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.

The catalogs aren't damaged as they work perfectly in LR4.4. I urgently need to update them to a new mac with LR5.

However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.

I have just downloaded from them a .mp3 file lasting 5 minutes but when I come to load it into my project , I get an error message saying "File format mismatch". The only difference that I see between this and all the previous files I have downloaded from them is that this one has a bitrate of 320kbps compared to the previous ones of 130-190kbps.

It is showing up in my print job as a Black Spot Color. (Giving me 5 plates now.)
Is it safe to just save this file as a .tif or .psd so I only have 4 plates?
(It's been awhile since I used this file format... I thought there had to be plates for C, M, Y, K for .dcs file format. I've forgotten and wanted to see if any of y'all know the answer.)

Jul 29, 2009I have a large number of .png images I am working with. On many occassions I haveopened these, edited a little and resaved as .png24 and have done so numeroustimes with the images saving fine and showing transparency.However, many are now opening as locked and opening in indexed color mode, also with no transparency.I can resolve the locked layer issue by converting to RGB color mode or making a selectionand copying to a new layer but the main issue is the white solid image where it was once transparent.Perhaps the locked layer issue is somehow flattening the image and therefore removing transparency?I haven't a clue what is going wrong with this. I have many png images and it would take far too long tounlock and redo the transparency levels. I had been editing many of these fine and all of a sudden theynow open locked and no transparency.

Edge Animate CC :: Does Not See Actions File
Jul 8, 2013Working with Edge version 1.5.0 and Visual Studio 10. Just about finished with a project and now all of my code has disappeared from Edge, I can't see any of my triggers on the timeline or events on the buttons. I can still open the html in a browser and everything still works but I can't do any more edits inside of Edge because I can't see the code in there.
The edge actions file has all the code, but Edge does not see any of it inside Edge. I tried pasting the full code back into Edge but it would not save it. How can I get edge to see the code again?

Jan 24, 2013Our company recently upgraded to new computer and software. After installing CS6 Photoshop I was trying to edit a rgb format file, but there was no option for SGI rgb. For earlier versions of Photoshop we were told to download 3 party plug-in to get this format to work. Our IT person said that the 3 party plug-in can no longer be used with CS6. I have a majority of my files as rgb and would like to edit these files, how can I do this? Is there a option during CS6 install for getting this format?
