Our company recently upgraded to new computer and software. After installing CS6 Photoshop I was trying to edit a rgb format file, but there was no option for SGI rgb. For earlier versions of Photoshop we were told to download 3 party plug-in to get this format to work. Our IT person said that the 3 party plug-in can no longer be used with CS6. I have a majority of my files as rgb and would like to edit these files, how can I do this? Is there a option during CS6 install for getting this format?
I want to know how to open a dwg file that has been saved as a pdf file format so i can edit it.
Why do people save it to a pdf anyway? Doesn't that degrade the quality of the drawing?
I have a lot of clients that send me there drawing but i constantly have to tell them that they have to send the original form if they want it to be edited. Most of the time I have to use a converter to to convert it to a dwg file but the quality degrades drastically. I can’t believe in 2013 I’m still having problems with this.
I’ve tried Any PDF to DWG Converter but it doesn’t convert it very well.
I have just installed C3D 2012 and when I show the menu bar, the only choice is Express which used to be the last tool in previous versions. What happened to File - Edit - View - Insert - Format, etc in the menu bar? I need to access them.
What is the best export/import format for sending 3D files. I need some neutral format files, possibly Solidworks but I am not sure. Also any export settings to make sure I get decent quality files.
Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.

I needed to edit the layout of a form which was in PDF format and sharp. I opened it in Photoshop which put it at 300 resolution. I made my changes and saved it back to PDF. When I opened it in Acrobat, it was blurred. Not badly, but just enough to notice.
How can I make sharper? Is there a step I'm missing?
In order to read and edit a picture taken in RAW format by a Nikon D7000, using Photoshop Element 8, what should I do? Any plug in that I should download?
Have some photos of a warehouse fire in Plymouth Indiana. Files were saved as .jpg Can't get them to open.
One message is "Pain't cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or it's format is not currently supported." Couldn’t display DSC-0023.jpg because a suitable graphics importer could not be found.
I am trying to open a video to edit within Photoshop CS6 x64. I am getting the following message:-
Could not place the document ‘IMG_1664.MOV’ because no parser or file format can open the file.
The video was shot on my iphone 4S and ive even tried converting to other formats yet Photoshop still gives the same error. I have checked through Bridge and I have no option to send to Photoshop on the right click menu. try out the new features of CS6 for video editing.
I am running a 27" iMac with 12gb RAM and 1gb of Video RAM.
Getting this error when trying to use downloaded ACTIONS. "Could not place the document ‘Photoshop_Actions_03_by_ReehBR.atn’ because no parser or file format can open the file."
I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?
I am getting this popup error when trying to open a .gif file:
"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file."
This comes up every time I try to open a .gif file. Even if I make a .gif file (like the image included in this post), save it and then try to open it again, I get the same error. I tried reinstalling CS4, but the error is still there. I have also done the reset on start-up and nothing. Some have suggested that I open it in (Windows XP Pro) MS Paint and then save it again. Did it and this does NOT work for me, either.
I am trying to open a image to edit in Photoshop CC. I am getting the following message:- Could not place the document ‘arrow_right_alt1-512’ because file-format module cannot not parse the file. I make this upper cover but when i put any image in the backgroud layer it shows me that Error
to convert a rather large & complicated logo in .PSD format to a Vector file, I have PS CS2 & IR CS2. Is there any way I can do it using what I already have without using the pen tool?
I have many texts fields in my drawing. I need edit the format of all field. e.g field - 1030.60 convert to - 1.030,60 Is there any lisp doing that? I mean, select multiple field and change it.
When I export my 3D-project (a coffee mug) from Cinema 4D (R11) as a .3ds file to PS CS5 Extended I get the following message: "The Photoshop 3D file format could not parse this file".The odd thing is that when I export and import a simple sphere it works. I believe that there is some kind of limitation involved?

a. Properties - Model b. Properties - Drawing c. Drawing Properties d. Sheet Properties e. Physical Properties - Model f. View Label Properties g. Sheet Metal Properties
Questions 1. Why are ther only two options in S&S Editor?
2. Can I add more options to S&S Editor?
I would like to add mass to my lablel inside certain templates and have it show when I display a views Base view label. Not ot have to maunually add it each time it is displayed.
I've got a catalog that work fine in LR4.4, but when I try to upgrade them to LR5 I get the error, "Lightroom couldn't update the format of its catalog file because the file appears to be damaged." The catalogs aren't damaged as they work perfectly in LR4.4. I urgently need to update them to a new mac with LR5.
I am wondering if there is a way to put the old save method back into the new gimp 2.7.3. I would like to be able to export to a new file format and automatically be using that file instead of the original file that I have just opened. If there is a plugin like this that would be great.
I have used an exceptionally good website called [URL]...... for a number of years with no problems. I have just downloaded from them a .mp3 file lasting 5 minutes but when I come to load it into my project , I get an error message saying "File format mismatch". The only difference that I see between this and all the previous files I have downloaded from them is that this one has a bitrate of 320kbps compared to the previous ones of 130-190kbps.
Our archive consists of hundreds if not thousands of images that were professionally scanned using Kodak CD software (don't ask). We upgraded to Creative Suites and now cannot get the images to open because it cannot recognize the file format. I've located the Photo CD File Format Plug-In v3.0.7 but that doesn't seem to work.
It is showing up in my print job as a Black Spot Color. (Giving me 5 plates now.)
Is it safe to just save this file as a .tif or .psd so I only have 4 plates?
(It's been awhile since I used this file format... I thought there had to be plates for C, M, Y, K for .dcs file format. I've forgotten and wanted to see if any of y'all know the answer.)
I have a large number of .png images I am working with. On many occassions I haveopened these, edited a little and resaved as .png24 and have done so numeroustimes with the images saving fine and showing transparency. However, many are now opening as locked and opening in indexed color mode, also with no transparency.I can resolve the locked layer issue by converting to RGB color mode or making a selectionand copying to a new layer but the main issue is the white solid image where it was once transparent.Perhaps the locked layer issue is somehow flattening the image and therefore removing transparency?I haven't a clue what is going wrong with this. I have many png images and it would take far too long tounlock and redo the transparency levels. I had been editing many of these fine and all of a sudden theynow open locked and no transparency.
Is there any way to set a preference for the file-format? Each time i save a file i have to adress it's format manualy, so it would be handy if there was a way to set a preference (via the short-cut menu maybe?!) for this.
I think I'm in over my head here. I did a logo for a company in Photoshop CS (it was an ad agency that contracted me so no direct contact with client). Just some text and clip art, nothing fancy. I've sent off the layered file in .psd format. Now they want .eps format. I know you can save as .eps format in photoshop, but there's lots of different options.
Preview - TIFF (1 bit/pixel) or Tiff (8 bit/pixel)
Encoding - ASCII85, ASCII or Binary. Or JPEG low medium or high.
Include Halftone Screen - yes or no Include TransferFunction - yes or no PostScript Color Management - yes or no Image Interpolation - yes or no
No clue what I need to select here. Is this dependent upon the print shop specifications? Or is there a typical EPS setting I should choose and be done with it?
I have a Nikon D70 set to RAW file. This creates the files with .NEF extension. I'm sure you are aware that ps can open this type of file, but cannot save as .NEF . My question is really what is the best alternative?
I ask this because when printing large pictures (30"x20") that I have edited, and saved as jpeg the image quality is comprimised and 'grainey'. Is there a file type that will not compress the picture and keep the original clarity?
