Jan 25, 2005i have 2 layers: 1 is a picture and the other is the built-in "heart" shape. I would like to select the outline of the heart shape, crop it to make .... a heart shaped picture.

Photoshop :: Cropping Irregular Shapes To Form One Image
Jun 10, 2011I am working on a project at the moment, which entails cropping irregular shapes and bringing all the shapes together to form one finished image. I have added an example of the images that I am using.
I have managed to lasso an element from this sheet, but don't know how to take that element and put it on a nice new white background/sheet then take other elements from this page and other pages that I have, then create a new image from all the elements.

May 16, 2012Am using Photoshop CS5.1, Simply want to create a single picture (file) that has a "built-in" mat around it. Seems like all that's needed is a box in background (color it as a mat), then put the picture on top.Â

Problem is, when I go to size (or crop) the picture, it changes the size of the mat and Canvas Size. "Really" want the Canvas Size to STAY 16in x 20in, just makes it easier so can SEE and adjust (move, crop, slide arund) the picture to be 13in x 17in in the center or whereever. After all done, will save as jpg, so can view/print easily.

Oct 29, 2012When trying to create a PDF file of any drawing with the inbuilt DWG to PDF AutoDesk plotter the software always crashes out with a FATL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 21247a28h. Not sure if this is a coincidence but this has only just started happening since updating my Adobe Reader software to the very latest XI version just released.
I have sent several error reports to Autodesk but can't see any in the support section. I have tried un-installing the Acrobat Reader software and AutoCAD still crashes out. Creating PDF's from external printers like PDF24 have no issues but prefer the inbuilt printer as it keeps the vector data and layering info in the resultant PDF.
Using AutoCAD LT 2013 with service pack 1.1 installed.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: As-built / Creating DTM Of As Floor
Feb 7, 2013We're using a precise level to as-built and create a dtm of a floor. The client would like us to assess the dtm for changes of grade greater than 3mm over 3m. (The test is based on walking around the floor with a 3m straight edge and 3mm blocks - see Figure 6 in this paper .)
Please note that the floor could be laid on a slope and still comply - it's the grade changes we're looking for. And some of these floors are large so we'd prefer make it as automatic as possible.
As far as I know there's no surface style that can display grade changes. Â We can shade each triangle by slope, but it will still require manual visual inspection to see if adjacent triangles are sufficiently similar to comply.

Mar 13, 2012Corel Draw X5 (32 bit) ships with gpl ghostscript 8.64 (32 bit). On my PC (win7 ultra x64) is installed gpl ghost script 9.02 (x64) too.
Does CDR use the built-in gs hard-coded or does it read the information from the registry (or some config file), so I could "redirect" CDR to my newer version? I´d like to do this (any problems about x64 ?) and then uninstall gs 8.64 (that came with CDR).
Is it possible to do so and tag here any problems about incompatibilities?

I am preparing for a video project that will involve a lot of 3d animation and am thinking of using Maya (on a Mac).
Can I use Corel draw or Adobe illustrator to create basic models for importing into Maya?
In particular, I have created some very complex 2d contour maps, the specific geography of which is important and must not change, each contour height has been given its own drawing layer so that I can easily manipulate the maps. Can I import and then create 3d animated landscapes from this type of graphic in Maya ?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Design As-built Pressure Pipe Per Depths
Aug 6, 2012Wanted to know if there is a way to place pressure pipes at variable depths.
We got inspector notes which show the depths at each end of the pipes.
And I notice that under Pipe Properties, Part Properties tab, and under Geometry there is Start Cover and End Cover.
But both are greyed out.
Is it possible to use Star Cover and End Cover to design the pipes?Â

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Data Shortcutting Custom Built Structure Parts?
Apr 3, 2012Having issues with data shortcutting custom built structure parts? I built a very simple part that has no dimensions and is for plan appearane only (it is a just a rip rap outfall). The part seems to work perfectly in my design file, appearing exactly as I desired with automatic labeling. However, when I data shortcut the pipe network into the plan presentation file, all default pipes and structures are brought in except for the custom built rip rap outfall.
I have tried to delete and reload the data shortcut, changed the part properties, and made sure the parts lists and styles are the same in both drawing files. If I swap the custom part out (in the design file) for a default part, the default part is suddenly displayed in my plan presentation file after synchronizing. It is as if the data shortcut doesn't recognize the custom part, even though it is in the network parts list?

CorelDRAW X6 :: Creating Shapes Through Inverting Other Shapes
Nov 18, 2013I drew something up on a sheet of paper, scanned it, then traced it's bitmap as line art. I then proceded to edit the vectors to recover all the detail I lost with the tracing. It took forever!
Now that I´m done, I realised there is a problem... how can I color in the drawing, if the lines themselves make up the shape? Essentially, I´m left with blank spaces in between all the lines instead of solid individual shapes that can be colored in.
What can I do? I´m so desperate I´m thinking of creating a gazillion individual shapes with the colors, and slapping them underneath the lines to "improv" a fill. But that will take waay too long, so is there an easier way?
If I could "invert" the shape I have now, so that the blank spaces become individual shapes, and the lines become blank spaces.

Â I want to do use publisher and make mulitple page pdf's and as I understand it I have to use the built-in plotter to do it. As of right now I have to sperate pages with adobe and then combie them to make a single pdf.

Jun 7, 2009I just got Photoshop CS4 (Design Suite Standard) last week after having used Elements (2, then 3) for the last five years. In Elements, when you use the crop tool, you can move the entire frame around by clicking on the dot in the center and moving it. It seems that in CS4, when I attempt to move the frame, only the center dot moves without moving the frame lines. I looked through the PDF manual, but couldn't find any explanation how to change this. I'll likely be back with more questions as I try to learn how to use CS4.

I had this happen with CS3 once; it was suggested to reinstall;
This time I have reinstalled PS CS4 twice (uninstalled first) and it still does this.
My PS CS3 was a separate PS package; the CS4 is part of the Adobe Creative Suite 4 (standard). The second reinstall, I reinstalled the whole Creative Suite. Still does the disappearing act.

Jul 24, 2007I am having problem to crop using ratio instead of values of inches or pixels. In cs2 if i enter any values eg. 6 in width and 4 in height w/out specifying the unit it will use that value as ration instead, in this case 6:4. No resolution as i dont want to resample.
But when i tried this in cs3 it will use the value and i will get a 6 by 4 inches image instead of ratio.
