View 1 Replies View Relatedi've been using this little tutorial to try and design a logo for some friends, but i've got to the stage 6 as it is listed on there, and my hidden layer gets discarded when i try and convert from grayscale- to indexed colour, i get the message "flatten visible layers and discard hidden layers",
I can either click okidily dokidily or no, and the latter it just brings me back to where i was a few seconds ago.
Is it posible to create an effect like this in Photoshop from a normal picture?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create some "generic" backgrounds to be used in other applications (InDesign, Illustrator) that can be specified to certain CMYK percentages.
In Photoshop, I create a file in RGB and using the default B&W, render clouds. Then I use various filters and create the backgrounds I want. I convert these backgrounds to CMYK.
What I need to do is make the (converted RGB) "black" backgrounds to be specific CMYK percentages. I have tried to create an adjustment layer and then using selective color, but it's not accurate at all.
One of my requirements is to create .PNG files with transparent backgrounds incorporating imported images with backgrounds removed usung eraser and brush tools. Can this be done using Elements? If not, which product(s) from the Adobe suite will provide this functionality?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used the Magic Wand for a couple of years, taking out backgrounds etc to create transparent GIFs.Now when I use it, the edges of whatever I have cut out are always jagged.
I have anti-aliasing checked at the top, and haven't changed anything that I know of.It seems to get worse when the image is resized and made smaller also.
I've been using XDP for a while now but every once in a while I come across something that I can't correct. My issue is using "live effects", gaussien blur, or any of the effects and then exporting as a PNG for a background or graphic for the web. Whenever I use live effects whatever the size of the object always increases such as a line blurred to add a shadow etc. An example is creating a line 2000px wide by 10px high and adding the gaussien blur effect. When I follow the process of creating a tiled background the graphic always expands in width. No issues creating tiled backgrounds when not using live effects.

The problem certainly has been discussed all over the place, but I've yet to find an answer in all of my research. And the problem hasn't been limited to only CS6 (earliest reported cases involve CS2), but that's what I'm in now...
Given:
Win7 Pro SP1 64-bit
8 GB RAM
CS6 Extended 64-bit
Issue:
Print screen image 01 captured (using the PrtScn key on the keyboard) to Windows' clipboard pastes into Photoshop document. Print screen image 02 captured to Windows' clipboard does not paste into Photoshop document, but instead image 01. Delete unwanted layer and capture image 02 again, and this time Photoshop pastes in image 02. Curiously, the problem is not remedied by Photoshop's menu Edit, Purge, Clipboard.
This problem does not occur in other applications like in Paint for example - only in Photoshop.
