View 1 RepliesI wish to use my personal actions from and plug-ins from my Windows 7 computer to my new Windows 8 computer.I have placed the plug-ins in the proper folder. Needs drivers or something else. I don't know where to find the Personal actions to copy them over.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to be able to construct some Actions which use third-party Plug-ins - Is it even generally possible ....? The simpler the construction scheme the better. I'm working with CS5.
View 26 Replies View RelatedI have been a long time Photoshop user and am now am moving CS6 extended (Windows version) from a PC to a Mac (CS6 Mac version) and need to migrate all of my fonts, actions, plugins and everything else from my pc to my Mac.
I have been provided a copy of CS6 for Mac by Adobe and basically need to move my entire CS6 configuration to the new platform.
I have been updting upgrading my Photoshop since the CS3 days so there is a lot of files, actions, and stuff that I do not want to loose when I move to my new platform.
Here's what I want to do:
I want to process a series of pics for my photography business and I think I have a way to do a great deal of them with minimum effort. What I want to do is to work on one photo and create a smaller project that I copy and paste my Adjustment layers in. Then, I want an action to go through my queue of pics and copy the layers over, create a blurred layer (for skin touch up) and a sharpened layer. That way, when it's done, all I have to do is open each saved PSD and do touch up as needed.
The problem is that I can't get an action to recognize that I'm dragging a layer over from one comp to another. Is there a way, instead of creating a brand new action for each set of pics, to do what I want to do?
I recently bought a new computer & re-installed photoshop CS5.1 successfully, but can't get the plug ins to work (phototools 2.5 & perfect effects 3, which were a free download with purchase). I am running windows 7 64bit. I copied & pasted them into the plug ins folder (in both applications of photoshop - there is the 32 bit version on 'program files (x86)' & the 64 bit version in 'program files'), but neither will work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just "upgraded" from Photoshop CS6 to Photoshop CC.
How do I get all my apps, plug ins, actions, automate apps, brushes, etc. from Photoshop CS6 onto/into the proper folders in Photoshop CC so I can use them in CC?
My OS is Mac OSX 10.7.5.
So far I have tryed to find the actions on my computer but without success. There are not in the presets/action folder. That folder is empty.
If I try to save the actions from the actions window in photoshop I cannot manage because the "save action" function is not available (it's there but can't be clicked...)
I have Elements 10 on both my Dell Laptop and also on a HP PC. I want to copy an album that I created on the Laptop (3000 photos) onto the PC. When I try to export the Album to either the Laptop hard drive or DVD it fails and Elements shuts down. I don't want to do it via a backup as there are many photos I do not want to copy. How do I isolate the Album alone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just got a new computer and re-installed Lightroom on it. I now need to transfer my catalogue and files over.
I already know I need to copy and move them over but I have a question that probably seems very simple/obvious to most.
When I copy my catalogue file, WHERE am i supossed to copy it to on the new computer? In Pictures, Lightroom, there already exists a catalogue but obvioulsy this is not the one I want there. If I move my old catalogue to the same place (along with the other files) there will be 2 catalogues in there. How do I make sure Lightroom reads from the old catalogue I am copying over.
How do I transfer user-defined actions on Photoshop CS5 from an old computer to a new computer? I cannot find the .atn files on my computer. My computer uses Windows 7 32 bit.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to break an image down into a core group of colors. Is there any way in photoshop cs to define my colors so when I select one it snaps to the best choice...
I.E. if you select a color with the eye dropper then you check the RGB value of it you can click the "Web Only Colors" and it will snap to the closest choice.
I want to have a pallette of 10-11 colors and have it snap to the best choice...

Or even better... take a whole image and convert it to the 10-11 colors I want. Is this possible with some sort of filter?

I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and thats when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit load actions and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldnt find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just dont run.
Im a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
I've just installed Elements 8 and I can't sign in. Won't accept/create my personal URL. I'm using Mike. Keep getting a "Failure" message..
I got brushed off by their Agent because my problem is with a back issue.
I can not find a email address for Adobe? How to email Adobe
I am unable to create a Personal URL when registering Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. I receive an error message that simple states "an error occurred and your changes were not saved." I then get redirected to the same page to create a personal URL. It is an endless cycle.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm at the stage where I input my date of birth and choosing a personal URL for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I DO NOT use symbols. I have tried simple words and names and sometimes include numbers. I've checked both boxes referring to updates and agreeing to the Terms of Use. I click on Update Account and I get this message:
"And error has occurred, and your changes were not saved."
I have registered the program on the website. My account is identified and recognized. Why can't I get passed Update Account? Why must I have a personal URL if it's the only thing stopping my progress?
I have CS5 installed on a desktop computer that crashed and I can't get it working to deactivate CS5. I am going to purchase a new desktop and would like to install CS5 on the new computer, but it was already installed on two computers (desktop and laptop) so no activations are left. I have the Disk and serial number.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to put my actions somewhere special on my hardrive, not in apps folder.
Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
I am in the process of burning a DVD and first intend to create a DVD Folder. I would like to add a "personal folder" but the option is greyed out.
I can choose to “burn the disc” or “create a disc image” both options allow for adding a personal folder.
As a test I chose to create both a “folder” and a “disc image” this activated the link to allow me to add a folder, obviously this took a little longer and doubled the file sizes.
The Personal folder saved to ISO but not to DVD Folder.
I must admit I normally use the Disc Image option so haven’t noticed this problem in the past.
One of my users has modified the application options, (switched of grid lines, and minor grid lines), applied them, and worked on his project. When he exits Inventor, and re-starts it, the application options go back to basic default, (i.e. Grid and minor grid lines appear). I've checked the Read/Write permissions of The Program files folder, the program files x86 folder, and the path in his my documents folder, and all are OK.
I exported the application options, after tweaking them, and if I import that exported file, everything does as we expect, i.e. grid and minor grid lines are switched off.
We maintain most of our GIS data in either personal (.mdb) or file (.gdb) geodatabases. I have AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 and want to be able to connect to these geodatabases. Where can I find the FDO provider to connect to these types of geodatabases and what is the process for updating the providers list for AutoCAD?

I was just wondering what would be the finest way to convert a comic character (like Gaston Lagaffe or Tintin or...) into a vector for personal use?
The idea is just a poster or canvas with a cat of a famous comic series just for my office decoration.
i wish to keep using the pencil tool with a personal line stroke style (width and profile), so i can draw using the same line style, i am not able because each time I do a path i loose my style setting to the standard. Is there a way to keep the selected attributes once i do more than one path?

I have one project employee to draw and think about implementation of my devices. Human is not perfect and i want to improve work.
I have building level with a layer which represent all existing cable path. I can use it to install my bus.
I'm setting all sensors (personal block) on a second layer and data concentrator on third layer (personal block)
What i want and it's possible ?
-> I have data concentrator. Each data concentrator can manage 15 sensors.
Can i write a script or tool in autocad to draw automatically lines between sensors and dataconcentrator to have the lowest cable distance taking into account possible way on existing cable path ? I have criteria : All sensors need to be connected, lowest cable distance and 15 sensors needs to be connected to dataconcentrator.
How i can do this ?
I am currently working on the schematics of a quite big document and I am using Illustrator. I work on the .ai version of the figures but I want to save them in a very quick way as pdf files with personal setting (super compression, no preview...). What I am doing now is that I have my .ai file open, and when I want to save a pdf version of it I go to "File" then "Save a copy" then "Type: pdf" and I enter a name, I click on "Save" and a window pops up with some options. Here, I select a personal preset and then click on "Save pdf" and I am happy with the final saved pdf.
The thing is that it is a quite long process when you have to do it several times per figure. I tried to automatized it through a script (or action) but the available options are quite limited (it is hard to make Illustrator understand that if the current file is myfig.ai, I want a myfig.pdf and that I want to save it in the working folder). Under "File", I also tried the "SaveDocsAsPdf" script but once again, I have to select the folder where I want to save the figure and so on. Maybe I missed something. Any efficient way to save my figures as pdf by clicking a the F9 key (for instance).
I started a new computer with LR5, and it runs fine. But, when I imported my pics from a previous computer running LR4, all the pics loaded into the new LR without any tags or processing. How can I get that info without having ot reprocess thousands of pictures?
