Photoshop Elements :: Copying Album (3000 Photos) To Another Computer?
Oct 6, 2013
I have Elements 10 on both my Dell Laptop and also on a HP PC. I want to copy an album that I created on the Laptop (3000 photos) onto the PC. When I try to export the Album to either the Laptop hard drive or DVD it fails and Elements shuts down. I don't want to do it via a backup as there are many photos I do not want to copy. How do I isolate the Album alone.
How long should it take for an album of photos to be uploaded? Is there any faster way to distribute an album or large batch of photos besides uploading an album?
I have Adobe Photoshop Element 12 installed on my new computer (Windows 8) but how do I import the album structure organizing my 4,000 photos in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 from my old computer (Windows XP)?
I have PSE 12 (same license) installed on two computers. Each computer has its own file system and PSE catalog. Question: How to I transfer a album (with photo files) from computer A to computer B?.
When opening my jpeg photos in Photoshop elements 9, once saved elements seems put the image in a format that my Apple Mac isn't compatible with. So when I then try and upload the images to Facebook or other software in a bulk upload the images are highlighted and I therefore can't select them and upload.
I just bought elements 12. Need to remove photos from an album. Nothing comes up in search & don't see menu option either. I tried right clicking ... nothing happens!
Once a photo has been imported into an album, how do you resize the photo?
I am using PSE primarily for photos to my website and the photos need to be within a specific size. So when I import directly from my camera into an album, I need to check the size of each photo and edit the size before going to my website.
I messed up by stacking photos before moving to an album. I need to permanently unstack photos. The 'stack' option in 'edit' is grey so I cannot select it.
I am startiang from scrach since I only was able to transfer photos to a new hard drive. I installed elements 11 and connected with the photos on my hard drive. I have set up various albums and have placed photos in the album they belong. Now I was familar with earlier photoshop and by "tagging" the photo to a particular album. Then I could go to show untagged items to slowly organize the thousands of photos i have. But the same photos are still showing up in the media display. So what am I doing wrong. Is tagging something different from the earlier versions where you could drag an album label to the photo and then see it listed. The photos are showing up in the album but I see no tags.
How do I move just the final edited photo to an album but retain the original and edited versions in the catalogue. ? Every time I try, all the copies move to the album and when I try to remove the unwanted copies from the album it removes all of the particular photo.
On PSE12, can I make the caption I have given a photo to appear on thumbnail within an album? Is it possible to not have the # of the photo within the album to appear in the upper left corner of the thumbnail?
I have been trying to copy an album in Elements 8 to a DVD, but I cannot find a way to keep thim in the order that I have arranged them in the album. What is the correct procedure? It's a Windows 7 system.
Also, is there a way to create the DVD so it can be played on a TV DVD player?
I want to sort the photos in an album into date sequence, that is to say, oldest first. I want to keep the photos in the organiser in newest first sequence (I don't want that photo from zillions of years ago top of the list every time I open the organiser).
I can see "Sort by" at the top but that seems to apply to the selection of photos I have showing on the screen and does not appear to be an attribute that can be attached to an album. So if I select "Oldest" as the sort order, that works nicely for the album but then I go back to the organiser and it's in oldest first order. Not what I want. So I select "Newest", then go back to the album and the "oldest" sequence has been lost.
It was really easy in PSE8. It appears that what I am trying to do is impossible and Adobe have dropped the ability to associate a sequence with an album.
Incidentally, what does "Album order" mean? That implies that it is possible to set an album order somewhere.
Haven't used Elements in awhile, and actually, the chronological order was never a big deal. For this vacation, I really want them in the order taken by date because I used two different cameras.
I have my photos organized into albums. I would like to print a contact sheet for each album, but would like it to include the album name. This seems like a very basic part of organizing, but it's not overly apparent how to do it. I would also like to resize the caption font on the contact sheet, too.
I'm aware that Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not supported by Adobe anymore. I have thousands of photos organized on it using its "Category" function. Does Photoshop Elements 11 have a similar function? (I'm in the midst of also switching to a new computer and my old one can't load the info on the PS 11 program available on this site.) I'm extremely concerned I not lose the ability to retrieve my pix by the categories I've already assigned them, when I switch to PS 11 on my new computer.
In version 10, I could create an album, add photos to it, and then right click on the album name and select "Sort album by photo date", or something like that. This was very convenient when I had more than one source of photos for a certain event, like a vacation. This would change the "album order", which made it very convenient for creating photobooks or other projects where I wanted chronological order. I don't want to view by "Oldest first" in media view 1st before I save the album.
I am using PSE 10 on a Mac and I would like to export photos from an album as jpeg files to the hard disk. I would like to rename the files so that the first image in the album will have a the album name and index 1, the second image will have the same name and index 2 etc.
Having decided Revel was not appropiate to my use, I've tried to delete the Revel icons from every jpg in my catalog and delete the mobile album from my Organizer, to no avail. Also would like to disable/delete auto analyzer since it uses so much CPU resources.
I wish to copy selected photos from my Elements 10 catalogue to a memory card, which I can then slot into a digital photoframe. I have done this many years ago on Elements 4, but cannot remember the procedure.
I just transferred 10,000 photos... all tagged beautifully in my previous computer..that are no longer tagged. I installed Elements 6 and imported the photos along with tags according the screen, but once the import is done less than 100 of the photos are actually tagged. I also have a newer version of elements that I want to use on this computer but thought I should try to make the original version work before upgrading. What do I need to do to get the tags back?
