I am using PSE primarily for photos to my website and the photos need to be within a specific size. So when I import directly from my camera into an album, I need to check the size of each photo and edit the size before going to my website.
I am startiang from scrach since I only was able to transfer photos to a new hard drive. I installed elements 11 and connected with the photos on my hard drive. I have set up various albums and have placed photos in the album they belong. Now I was familar with earlier photoshop and by "tagging" the photo to a particular album. Then I could go to show untagged items to slowly organize the thousands of photos i have. But the same photos are still showing up in the media display. So what am I doing wrong. Is tagging something different from the earlier versions where you could drag an album label to the photo and then see it listed. The photos are showing up in the album but I see no tags.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to copy an album in Elements 8 to a DVD, but I cannot find a way to keep thim in the order that I have arranged them in the album. What is the correct procedure? It's a Windows 7 system.
Also, is there a way to create the DVD so it can be played on a TV DVD player?
I want to sort the photos in an album into date sequence, that is to say, oldest first. I want to keep the photos in the organiser in newest first sequence (I don't want that photo from zillions of years ago top of the list every time I open the organiser).
I can see "Sort by" at the top but that seems to apply to the selection of photos I have showing on the screen and does not appear to be an attribute that can be attached to an album. So if I select "Oldest" as the sort order, that works nicely for the album but then I go back to the organiser and it's in oldest first order. Not what I want. So I select "Newest", then go back to the album and the "oldest" sequence has been lost.
It was really easy in PSE8. It appears that what I am trying to do is impossible and Adobe have dropped the ability to associate a sequence with an album.
Incidentally, what does "Album order" mean? That implies that it is possible to set an album order somewhere.
Is there any way to import photos with captions and album structure from Photoshop Album 1.0 into Elements 12?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm aware that Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not supported by Adobe anymore. I have thousands of photos organized on it using its "Category" function. Does Photoshop Elements 11 have a similar function? (I'm in the midst of also switching to a new computer and my old one can't load the info on the PS 11 program available on this site.) I'm extremely concerned I not lose the ability to retrieve my pix by the categories I've already assigned them, when I switch to PS 11 on my new computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn version 10, I could create an album, add photos to it, and then right click on the album name and select "Sort album by photo date", or something like that. This was very convenient when I had more than one source of photos for a certain event, like a vacation. This would change the "album order", which made it very convenient for creating photobooks or other projects where I wanted chronological order. I don't want to view by "Oldest first" in media view 1st before I save the album.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 running on a Mac. I have the box checked to stack edited with originals.
I recently moved all of my photos to a an external Raid 1 drive - I did this within Lightroom, so that Lightroom knew where everything was. Everything seemed to be fine.
Today, I realized that after going to Photoshop and coming back into Lightroom, my photos are not stacking. Not only are they not stacking, but according to Lightroom they are not in the same folder, even though they are.
I am not working from a collection, I am working from the actual folder structure on the drive. If I go to photoshop, edit, save and come back, when it returns to Lightroom, where normally the new edited Tiff would pop up - now it returns a black screen, saying "no photo selected". If I go to the library module, the screen is still black. If I go the top of Lightroom and click on "All Photographs" the tiff file is there next to the picture. However, it is not stacked. If I try to stack it, it says that it can't stack photos that are stored in different folders.
I don't know where Lightroom is putting this Tiff file. The folder that I was editing from had 20 photos in it. I went into photoshop, came back with a tiff, and there are still only 20 photos in the folder, yet if I go up to all photos, it is there, so Lightroom put it somewhere.
When I go look at my external hard drive, the tiff file is there. It is right next the raw. In the same folder. So, it seems that Photoshop is putting it back in the right folder, but Lightroom is not.
How do I move my PSE10 organizer from one computer to another?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just updated APE-7 to APE-11 on my old computer which is running Windows 7. The transition went well. All photos and tags moved seamlessly to the new programs format. How best to transfer all of that to a new computer which is also running Windows-7. You can think of the new computer as a clean slate, other than the fact that I installed APE-11 on it as well.
Question 1: Should I begin by manually transfer all photos from the "My Pictures" folder on the old computer to the "My Pictures" folder on the new computer prior to using the "Restore Catalog" function or does that automatically happen when I use the "Restore Catalog" function within APE-11 to transfer Keywords and Tags?
Question 2: Any link to an Adobe document that might give a detailed explanation as to how to use the "Restore Catalog" function, to a new, computer. Or, perhaps a detailed step-by-step description of how to accomplish it in a way that all Keywords and Tags will remain associated with each picture.
