Photoshop :: Firewall

Nov 18, 2006

I had McAfee Security Center installed on the PC. It ran out and I got 2007, tried to install it and it had an issue with something that it wanted me to repair.

( didn't tell me what it was ) ( didn't have the issue with 2006 ) So I got irritated and downloaded a trial of Panda. I uninstalled McAfee and ran a search to make sure I got everything, then restarted in safe mode and TRIED to install Panda.

I got a message that I had to uninstall McAfee Firewall. I restarted again same message. I have nothing 'McAfee'on the machine. Anyone know what's happening?

Photoshop :: Can't See Alert Windows

Aug 17, 2004

I'm having trouble with the alert windows that should be popping up. The problem is that I can't see them on my desktop. For example, I click on file>new and then a box should pop up but I can't see it. If I press enter it creates the new image but if I click in the photoshop window then it won't let me do anything else because the other window above it is still open.

Photoshop :: Script Alert Message

Jan 16, 2009

Using PS CS3, I opened a few JPG images taken with a Nikon D100 a few years ago. I copy/pasted one image on top of another, flattened it and saved as a PSD. Later on, when I double-click on the PSD, PS opens and I get a script alert:
"Nikon Corp, Nikon D100, was used to shoot this file!"

The original JPEGs were of course shot with the D100, but the PSD certainly was not.

if I leave PS open, close the file and double-click it again, the same message does not appear. But if I close PS and then repeat the above, the message re-appears. Which leaves me with two questions:

1. What's the point of this misleading message?

2. How do I get rid of it, permanently?

Photoshop :: Script Alert - (could Not Process Files)?

Sep 24, 2012

I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  I'm operating on windows 7 64 bit. In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions,

but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.

Photoshop :: Creating Better Actions For PS [Insert Alert Message]

Jul 7, 2007

I've made actions in Photoshop before but never really anything other than recording my mouse movements & keystrokes.

Many of the actions i download have many more bells & whistles in them.

I'm really looking to have a msgbox pop up saying ...

eg NOW SET HUE/SAT TO REQUIRED SETTINGS
& have the hue & sat setting pop up so they could enter a setting
then the action would continue.

Could anyone offer any links or book reccomendations to help me built more complicated actions please?

When in the attribute editor, after you edit an attribute then click "select blocks", to choose a new block to edit, an alert appears telling you that an attribute in the block has changes and asks if you want to save these changes.  I ALWAYS want to save these changes...

Therefore, my question is, is there a way to turn that alert off or suppress it?

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Alert When Xref Is Moved?

Jun 29, 2013

I'm new to the programming thing, and this one has me stumped.  We have a problem with people accidently dragging xrefs.  The simple solution would be to put all of the xrefs on a locked layer, but I was vetoed on this suggestion.  I've been trying to figure out if I can write a lisp that will do one of the following: Give an alert if an xref is moved. Not allow an xref to be moved.Tell the user when they open a drawing that an xref is not at 0,0,0 insertion point.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Routine To Alert To Overlap Dimension Lines?

Sep 9, 2013

Sometimes someone dimensions a floor plan and starts one direction and then "goes back " the other way over the top of the dimension they just placed, which causes the dimension lines to overlap, which in turn shows incorrect distances when viewing on paper. Any lisp routine that can alert you to the fact that there are overlapping dimension lines (not the extension lines) in a drawing by changing them to color White or something? I have pasted a routine that we use which changes all dimenions with "modified text" to color white. That way I can see if someone just typed in the dimension distance they wanted instead of what was actually there.

(defun c:dc (/ dim_length)
(setq ssmod (ssget "X" (list (cons 0 "Dimension")(cons 1 "~"))))

Photoshop :: Color Picker Out-of-gamut Alert Different To Image Gamut Warning / CS5

Oct 5, 2012

I'm editing an sRGB image.  My custom proof condition is set to sRGB IEC, preserve numbers unchecked, intent PER or RC, BPC. Gamut warning is turned on.

I add some text and color it using the text color selector tool. I enable gamut warning in that and choose an out of gamut color such as #ff0000. I return to the image and the the text is *not* flagged as being out of gamut.

In fact *no* color flagged as OOG in the selector seems to be considered OOG once I return to the image with sRGB IEC selected, though they are when I select other devices to simulate.

Why the disparity between the image OOG warning and the selector tool?  Is the tool using a different simulated device to that I've selected?

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Routine To Activate Alert Window Based On Drawing Timer

Jun 19, 2012

I was interested in finding out if it's possible to write a LISP routine that would execute a pop-up dialog box say every 30 minutes.  This is strictly for ergonomic reasons to remind the user to take a pre-determined break.

I am not an expert code writer by any means, but I imagine the routine would autoload and resetting the timer to 0 upon opening a particular drawing file.  The LISP routine would then run in the background and run the (alert "") command when the timer reaches 30m 0s.  When the user presses the OK button, the timer resets to 0 again.

Photoshop :: Error: Cannot Initiate Photoshop Because Photoshop Cannot Create Any More Windows

Nov 2, 2008

Version: Photoshop CS (1)

Computer: Pentium 2.4 gHz dual core

4 Gigs Ram

Nvidia 7950 video card Win XP Home

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".

I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.

Photoshop :: Can Photoshop CS Give Smooth Lines To Older MacPaint Clip Art?

Jun 7, 2004

when I got my first Macintosh IICX and all of my MacPaint clip art. I don't want to get rid of the clip art because since I'm still using a black ink printer and not upgrading to a color one, the clip art looks nice in newsletters and the like.

Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.

Photoshop :: Adobe Photoshop Hacking For Working Special Characters?

Oct 30, 2012

of Adobe Photoshop v6.0.1 (quite old, I know, but it do all I want and on my old HW I did not plan/want to use any more recent version, because they are HUGE and with just a little preferences trick, I did not need to reinstall my PS - ever ), yet as Czech user, I need my software to type some special characters as well. These are looking like this:

[URL]...

Now the only problem is, that some of them PS just refuse to type. Seven small and seven caps are just wrong. See the line "for PS:"...

I battled the problem even by editing the fonts itsels, because that seems to work with Adobe Illustrator, yet this also cause the edited fonts to be useless in another programs. So I looked deeply and in the Adobe settings in directory Fonts / Reqrd are directory CMaps and perhaps editing the character map used will be better and usable solution? how to do it or even determine with file from the 96 files in the CMaps directory are right now used by Adobe Photoshop?
