Is there any way to disable the "would you like to open the file read only?" alert window when I open a read only file?

Everytime I open a document in Photoshop CS5, these 2 dialog boxes (Image Size, Script Alert) would pop up. to cancel 2 times to start editing. Is there a setting I can disable this?

For some reason, one of our PC's running MEP 2012 has suddenly started to only open drawings in read-only mode. The same drawings will open just fine on other PC's so they / their folders are not set to read-only in windows. The user also has the exact same access rights on the server as the others.
The strangest thing about this is the following warning box that appears on screen. see attached.
For some reason, the alert message which displays the full path of the dwg in question, has it's path modified with a date and time stamp prefixed with a '@' symbol. Needless to say the folder '@GMT-2012.07.17-11.00.04' does not exist. In 18 years of playing with AutoCAD I've never seen this one before.
I was interested in finding out if it's possible to write a LISP routine that would execute a pop-up dialog box say every 30 minutes. This is strictly for ergonomic reasons to remind the user to take a pre-determined break.
I am not an expert code writer by any means, but I imagine the routine would autoload and resetting the timer to 0 upon opening a particular drawing file. The LISP routine would then run in the background and run the (alert "") command when the timer reaches 30m 0s. When the user presses the OK button, the timer resets to 0 again.
In my project navigator, when I want to open an Elevation file it says to Read-only. How can open the file to work in it.

After a bit of a google on various forums I have came across a post which says that it maybe a network issue with the drawing creating DWL files (locked) and then it taking time to update on the network.
I cannot seem to open .dwg files from an email using AutoCAD LT 2010

I can save the file then open it. But the user wants to open the attachment straight from the email.
I've tried changing the attributes on the folder from read only but this doesn't work, tried another profile, again this doesn't work.
It does seem to only effect .dwg files when opening with AutoCAD LT 2010. If someone sends an xls, .doc, .pdf attachment they all open OK, I'm sure this is an AutoCAD LT 2010 issue. I have downloaded and installed both hotfixes / patches from the autodesk website and reinstalled the software but this hasn't worked either.
why Autocad 2012 opens one window per drawing as opposed to Autocad 2007/2008 opening one window for as many drawings as you have open. (I also don't care to group/ungroup similar programs through Windows 7.) This must be an Autocad 2012 program default that I can't figure out to change.
View 9 Replies View Related With the command window displayed at the bottom of the screen, everything slows down. The cursor momentarily freezes and it takes a second or two for commands to be fulfilled. Also, the command window is about 7 lines high; in the past, I have shrunk it to maybe 3 or 4 lines but I cannot shrink this wndow.
Then, when I push control-9 and the window disappears, everything speeds up to normal!
I tried turning off my internet connection and my McAfee Viruscan as well. Running without the command window makes it hard to draft. Since I type shortcuts, I figure I must have hit the wrong key and unleashed something unspeakably terrible.
I am running AutoCAD version 10 on my PC, with Windows XP Professional.
When in the attribute editor, after you edit an attribute then click "select blocks", to choose a new block to edit, an alert appears telling you that an attribute in the block has changes and asks if you want to save these changes. I ALWAYS want to save these changes...
Therefore, my question is, is there a way to turn that alert off or suppress it?
When I installed AutoCAD 2011 for Mac the geometric constraints automatically to everything that I draw. There doesn't seem to be anything about turning this feature off all together in documentation. I can do it with a selection set, but when I would have to do it to every line that I draw, it seems pretty ridiculous.

Is there a way to disable the ability to click on a file in the window which puts that filename in the input box? The assembly file name is standardized and pre-"calculated" by my code and its a decent hassle if you accidentally click another file because the user would either have to rewrite the file name by hand, or cancel out of the dialog box and re-navigate to the project folder.

But for some reason, when I click on Project Window, it does absolutely nothing. The window does not pop up.

As an engineering company we have started to convert hundreds of our drawings from AutoCAD to PDF using a batch utility.
However every file that is converted into a PDF file is opened by a PDF Viewer. We want to prevent this.
I opened my *.pc3 file and removed the check from the appropriate box. See below
I press OK, then save the file and close. However when I reopen the file, I see the box for Openining in PDF Viewer has been rechecked. No matter what I do, I cannot permanently remove the check from this box.
When I have 2 files open, one minimized and the other visible on the screen, when I quit the file showing on the screen and then open the one that was minimized, it comes up w/a blank black screen. There is no way I have found to get the info in the file to display.
Then, if I save the blank screenof previously minimized file, close it then reopen it the info is back on screen with changes made to the file intact.
if I open a drawing with DocumentManager.Open("drawing.dwg", false) and it is already open (or the user has no rights to write to it), the drawing is opened in READONLY mode without warning.
Is there way to check if DocumentManager.Open("drawing.dwg", false) will open the drawing normal or READONLY?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my PC running Windows Vista Ultimate with an Nvidia GEForce GT 545 video adapter, when I attempt to resize the Open File window in CorelDraw X5 to see more of the file information, the window starts rapidly flashing and opens a stack of same window. System response is slowed when trying to close or cancel the window, and it will display "Not Responding" for several seconds before it clears. CorelDraw X5 itself also has trouble closing. I repeated this 3 times and had the same thing happen, so it is not a random event. Not sure whether it is CorelDraw conflicting with the Nvidia driver or something else. The only workaround I found was to use Windows Explorer to view the additional file information, such as date modified or other metadata.
