View 9 RepliesAll the loaded actions worked yesterday....none will play today. I can bring up yesterday's work and continue to work on the action run, however, when I closed that out and went to another project, I was unable to run any action loaded. I deleted the actions and re-entered turning off the computer after each action loaded. Still would not work. I finally uninstalled 11 and then re-installed it. Still no luck. Are ACTIONS suppose to be a preset folder? I don't have a preset Actions folder in my program files...not even after I re-installed.

Photoshop Elements 11
My computer has PhotoShop CC installed on a brand new Dell Windows 7 computer. Previously I used CS4 and it worked great, but now I'm having issues with CC playing back any Action that has layer adjusments. I'll record an action consisting of an edited layer adjustment such as curves, levels, brightness/conrast, etc., and then when I play it back the layer adjustment applied is the default 0. For instance, here I clicked "Create New Action" and labeled it "Curves Layer TEST":
Â
add a new curves layer adjustment and label it "Brighten":Then I add a few points to the curve (overly brightened to demonstrate my issue):
then I hit the Stop Recording button. But when I look at the curve values in the Actions box of the very curve layer I just recorded, it says the Preset Kind is Default. Why doesn't it say Custom??? The Properties box read "Custom" as I was editing the curve!
and nothing happens to the image. it now has a curves layer on top, but it's the Default straight line. What happened to the curve I edited and recorded!!??
Â
What's the deal? This is the same process I used in CS4, CS2 and every other PhotoShop incarnation and it worked fine, until CC. Is this a bug? Or is there a new process to creating layer adjustment actions???
I've just 'upgraded' to CC, and noticed that actions that alter Curves adjustment layers do not play back correctly. The Action itself contains the correct steps ... here's an example.. but it refuses to play this type of step in any Action, giving me the default, flat curve, thus ...I've an extensive set of Actions of this type for photo-processing: I take it that these are now pretty useless in PSD CC?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I import a short AVCHD or MPG (~ 1 min., 100 mb) into Premiere Pro CS6 or After Effects CS6, it plays great. When I import the same file into Photoshop CS6 on the same computer, it's jerky, even with sound off, frame skipping enabled, cached, and no other applications running.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Pegasus R4 and an IMac 16G RAM.
Playback is not in real time with 10 bits uncompressed 4k scan.
I chose the option "Play From Memory" and surprise I can play only 40 frames.
QUESTION : where can I change the quantity of RAM to read more images ?
I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to put my actions somewhere special on my hardrive, not in apps folder.
Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
Using cs6 and video won't play on tv/dvd? Settings? Have tried several and nothing is working? It will play on computer but I need it to show on tv using dvd player.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCan anyone help me with the following problem. I use Adobe Photoshop to manipulate digital images from my camera. When I make a CD and try to play in on my DVD player to view on TV, I have a problem. My DVD play requires the exif format. I have been told that Photoshop drops the exif tag and thus I cannot view my images on my TV.
Is there a way to keep all the exif information and still use Photoshop?
Files copied to CD which have been saved as jpg in Photoshop 7 aren't recognised on my DVD, but if I resave them in Paintshop pro they are recognised. It gets a bit tedious when having to resave 100 or so files. Does anyone know why this happens, or has a quick solution how to resave them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe problem certainly has been discussed all over the place, but I've yet to find an answer in all of my research. And the problem hasn't been limited to only CS6 (earliest reported cases involve CS2), but that's what I'm in now...

Given:
Win7 Pro SP1 64-bit
8 GB RAM
CS6 Extended 64-bit
Â
Issue:
Print screen image 01 captured (using the PrtScn key on the keyboard) to Windows' clipboard pastes into Photoshop document. Print screen image 02 captured to Windows' clipboard does not paste into Photoshop document, but instead image 01. Delete unwanted layer and capture image 02 again, and this time Photoshop pastes in image 02. Curiously, the problem is not remedied by Photoshop's menu Edit, Purge, Clipboard.
Â
This problem does not occur in other applications like in Paint for example - only in Photoshop.
I imported 100 images (each one on a different layer) in Photoshop CS5.1 to make some image correction. Those images are an animation sequence.
Â
Now, I try to figure out how to play the animation? When I click PLAY, it doesn't move from a layer to another which would make it animate. It stays on the first layer.
how to get my animation to play when my website is first opened...much as this website does with it's really cool "PT" plasma logo...I've gotten VERY inspired by the animation example on this forum and want to animate something of my own, need to know how to get it to play in Dreamweaver though..

It would be a great help for uni, because we can't install stuff there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 9 to PSE 12. (Oddly PSE remains installed which was unexpected. Most apps that I upgrade replace their previous version). When I try to use the slideshow feature, usually while displaying the first photo, the program crashes. (It gives the error that the Organizer is closing.)
Â
My OS is Windows 7 64-bit. Running as Admin makes no difference.
Â
Other features - general navigation and editing are working OK. PSE 9 does not crash during a slideshow on the same machine.
Â
Slideshow is one of my most commonly used features so I'm not impressed that I spent $80 to get a worse experience.
I've created a slide show and have attempted to insert an audio mp3 file. Audio file shows that it has been added to slide show but it wil not play.
Â
I've added the mp3 multiple ways, by using the add media -- audio from element organizer as well as by add media ---audio from file but it won't play
Â
MP3 plays fine when I click on it from the organizer.
Â
I've tested the mp3's that came with elements 11 and they play fine. What's the deal?

Obviously if this was in Flash it would sit on a lower layer and exist for the entire duration of the animation, but I am hoping to avoid keep having to take artwork as png into p shop , create movie clip, etc etc then back to Photoshop to adjust artwork.Â
