I recently downloaded Photoshop for Windows and now have switched to a Mac. Is there anyway I can switch my product registration or download over from a windows to a Mac format? and is there a cost involved, or do I need to start again?

Is there any way to save/open files in Adobe products using the general Windows format, i.e. where you could copy & paste a folder location into your address bar. I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. Also you can't save favorite locations?

I am working on a 3' x 10' banner with 300dpi in Photoshop and it takes all of my time to do the extra tools to do, and it takes 10 minutes to save it or more. I have powerbook and CS6 on me. I put the highest memory in Photoshop preference. So I am bearing to work with it for hours for one small assignment, but why does it takes so long? is there a better way to do to save time and speed to make the poster banner to look greater than life? even in 200 dpi?

What is the best export/import format for sending 3D files. I need some neutral format files, possibly Solidworks but I am not sure. Also any export settings to make sure I get decent quality files.
Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.

We have a computer that using AutoCAD Architecture 2013 and Acrobat 9 Standard. When printing a large sheet (30"x42") with images in it to a PDF the images do not appear in the newly created PDF. However, if the same file is printed to fit an 11x17 the images display correctly. Any thoughts as to why the large sheet size is not printing properly?Â

Why can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.

This just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.
SDI is set to 0
Taskbar is set to 0
Relaunched the program
I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008.  (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options  so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?

Edited slightly a picture from the camera and saved it in PSD format.
Then went into that PSD version and found out that the patch tool would not work on that format.
Saved from that PSD into JPEG and on the JPEG version, the patch tool does work.
It's strange if that's so, since it is in the documentaion that the PSD format is the only one that supports all PhotoShop features (the best format to work with).

I have a file that I created in Adobe Illustrator that is in EPS format. For some reason, when I open the file in Photoshop, the colors are incorrect. Blues are still blue, and greens are still green, but they are the wrong shades. It doesn't happen when I save the file as a .ai file, but I want to be able to use a .eps file.

I have been putting together a birthday cadr for someone and adding layer after layer with many his res images etc., I have saved the beast in the default PSD format and it weighs in at a massive 388,963 KB. Photoshop doesn't let me save in any other format, ie JPG or PNG, even after flattening the layers and reducing the image size.
Â
Is there an threshold in terms of size that limits the output file type? Any way forward so I can save as a JPG or PNG ?

I have been asked to create a logo for a client of mine and I have been asked for it to be made in vectors format? I believe it has something to do with, if the picture needs to be stretched to a bigger size, it will not loose any quality.
Well this is what I am getting confused with, Photoshop already seems to stretch things fine, without loosing any image quality, I have not had a problem with that before?

We have a very old AutoCAD program that works great for us. We have new designs that are coming in but not in the old format of LEGACY. Even the .AI format is not usable. Without the Legacy format our CAD designer has to do his best to match up the work but it does not come out the same.
How can we take the PSD files (usually created in CS2 or CS3) and convert them to Legacy/Illustrator format?

I have encountered with a Photoshop TIFF image.
This image is a CMYK 8-bit TIFF - no layers - everything very basic (so it seems). I place this image as a link into Adobe Illustrator, then save this resulting file as a PDF.
I open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat, then I use Enfocus Pitstop to check the properties of the image. The Pitstop Inspector tells me that the image is indeed CMYK, but it contains only 1 channel and the image is "Indexed".
When I try to output this file to a printer, I only get the Cyan channel. It seems that the Magenta, Yellow and Black channels are "hidden" or something similar.
Throughout this entire process, the image appears on screen (in all applications) as a full colour image, ie, I get to see all of the channels - not just the Cyan channel.
I have found that if I save the original image as a Photoshop PDF or EPS, everything is fine.
I have also just completed another test and found that if I change anything about the image size (eg change from 300 dpi to 299 dpi) everything is also fine.
I am not able to attach the image, as it is too big for the 200KB restriction of this site, and I cannot compress it that far.
Has any body heard of this type of thing before?

I have a problem importing images into QuarkXpress from a Photoshop image.
It appears to be PS problem rather than Quark.
In PS, if I save a photo as a .jpg (i.e. Save or Save As...) the file is saved in PICT Format.
If I save for the web, it saves it as RGB JPEG Format,
When I come to import the image into QuarkXpress, I can only import the ones that have been Saved for Web and are in RGB JPEG Format. The PICT Format images import only as a white image.
Can anyone help with the procedure for saving images in RGB JPEG Format as opposed to PICT Format?
I am presuming that by having to save the image "for Web" I am reducing the quality? (i.e. 72dpi)
Further info:
The Quark "Get Picture" box displays all the info about the image I am trying to import.
If it's in RGB JPEG Format, the box displays the name of the file (e.g. xyz.jpg); the format (RGB JPEG); the date; the dimensions & dpi (72dpi) and the Colour Depth (True Colour) and a Preview image.
If it's in PICT Format, the box does not display the Dimensions or the Colour Depth, and there is no Preview image.
I have Saved as a .tif file (RGB TIFF Format) which presents no problems.

Our archive consists of hundreds if not thousands of images that were professionally scanned using Kodak CD software (don't ask). We upgraded to Creative Suites and now cannot get the images to open because it cannot recognize the file format. I've located the Photo CD File Format Plug-In v3.0.7 but that doesn't seem to work.

I'm trying to export a graphic as an EPS file for use into a program called Bluff Titler; however, there are so many options when saving the file, i.e. single DCS, no composite, image interpolation...not to mention the encoding options.
I've tried exporting as a PNG, but after applying the necessary pixel shader effects in Bluff Titler, it interpets the PNG file to have a white background, which won't work. I've attempted several of the options in PS when saving as an EPS file, but BT program says DX9 can't handle the file.

I want to print my work. my destination is laser printer in RGB mode. I confused rather I should use Photoshop PDF or TIFF. As I understand PDF includes lots of feature that are not relevant to Photoshop. TIFF in the other hand is a simple and none compressive format that should make the job well.
