View 1 RepliesWhat is the best export/import format for sending 3D files. I need some neutral format files, possibly Solidworks but I am not sure. Also any export settings to make sure I get decent quality files.
Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm taking the time to edit some of my nicer/older outdoor photos that were taken in jpeg format in Photoshop CS3 and then on to printing with an Epson 3800. I've been told that files I want to print I should make sure that I'm set to an RGB color space (1998), get icc profiles for paper, have photoshop manage colors, etc.
This is all going great! However, I've recently read online that to truly show the full potential of one's photos, those jpeg's should be converted to a TIFF file format...especially when printing (I'm now taking everything in RAW format, but I still have to take care of some of these nicer jpeg's).
Have done several prints comparing same photo in jpeg & tiff and tiff definately is higher quality. Now..my questions concern some of the settings in CS3 when I chose 'Save As' - 'Format' = tiff. Code:

Do you think I am able to bring down the file size with another file format? Or compressing it some way?
If so, any advice would be great... I'd like to make it as fast to load as possible.
Is there any way to save/open files in Adobe products using the general Windows format, i.e. where you could copy & paste a folder location into your address bar. I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. Also you can't save favorite locations?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSometime with some scenes, I have this trouble :
-when I render my beauty pass in TIF 16bits with render elements and when I leave MAX set my render-elements output files automatically, MAX use the initial name of the output beauty pass. So technically, It is suppose to make a couple of file with the same format and the same name.
-ok, I presse render to Backburner and I wait.
-Now my render is done, I go check my output files. And, sometimes, without constancy, my beauty pass is a TIF 16bits but my passes are in gray-scale or in 8bits or 16bits in random.
If I restart the job on Backburner, maybe it fix this problem, maybe not.
The unique thing I find to fix that is to set all my passes manually. but it's a pretty heavy process.
I would convert my files .max to a standard CAD format .step or .model
View 1 Replies View RelatedI imported an .stp file into Inventor 2011, saved it as an .ipt, and edited several features. When I export this edited file as an .stp and sent it to a client, they said that the file contained multiple errors: it showed no solid bodies (only surfaces), and the 3D thread feature I created (using a thread cutter and Inventor "Coil" command) did not read correctly (the thread I created was an edit of a previous thread, and apparently the .stp file simultaneously showed the new thread and the old, unedited threads).
Creating an assembly (.iam) and shrinkwrapping it before exporting as an .stp does not work.
(When I open the stp file I created [in Inventor] the file, of course, reads correctly. All solid bodies are visible, as well as the single thread.)
How to export an .stp so that it reads correctly in SolidWorks?

My question is if i create new one, then can i update all new formats to my old idw files? I mean, i can't open all of old files and i can't change one by one. I want to do in easy way.
