After using for a few weeks, I have had a few crashes, but this morning, I could not save a photo "Due to program Error" (no codes etc). Closing out that file and losing the edits, but now I cannot open any new file? Again "due to program Error". Working on Christmas cards and gifts. Running Macbook Pro with ample disk space and hard drive availibitly.

I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. Also you can't save favorite locations?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI work in a print shop that prints biggish stuff. I will frequently have files that postscript to close to a GB or more. Working on simple vector art with a few images in CC is not too much of a problem, but I still notice CC is slower than CS 6. The big problem is when I get a few 200mb PDF's, or files with layers of transparent PSD files in them etc, big busy files, then AI CC really bogs down, or frequently crashes altogether. CS 6 is MUCH better. I don't have the font issues, AI CC works fine with simple files. Saving & opening these big files is such a problem, I just save them back to CS 6, but that causes problems too, I do not want to, nor should I have to have 2 versions open at the same time.
I always try to optimize the files as best possible, but it is tough sometimes as they R supplied by the customer, and the time it takes. We save to a Windows Server 2008 R2 box over gigabit network, which I know is not best practice, but no choice with the sheer volume of files. Would B insane to try to keep track & copy them back & forth, and it was never a big issue with CS 6. I am the first victim in our office, but the other 3 Mac Pro's will B switching over to CC this week, and I know the operators will B crying.

Am seeing an issue with Photoshop7 , cannot save files to a network drive using .psd format..It says Disk space full, though there is more than 1TB of space available on the network drive..This happens when tryingto save file in .psd format using Save as option within photoshop.There is no issue in saving the same file locally and copying it fom local drive to network drive..OS is windows 7.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:

I can't see a way to search for this issue that seems faster then looking manually. X4 will open X3 jpg's, but not X3 TIF's. X4 will open the older PSP files, but X3 TIF's show up as black rectangles in X4 workspace and won't open. I've uninstalled X3 already, but do not consider re-installing it as a solution. Previous versions of PSP have been backward compatible for me. If I open a RAW file, edit it and save as a TIF, it will open.

I do not want an edit copy and wish to have the RAW file open in photoshop. I have had this option in thw past, but since installing LR 3 on a new computer can not configure to just open the NEF file in Photoshop.
After recently installing Corel Draw 12 we discivered we could not open our existing .cdr files. It would make sense if we were trying to open V:12 files with an V:5 but it seems like V:12 should support V;5 .cdr files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, Photoshop CC was working perfectly for me, up until about 3 or 4 weeks ago, when it randomly stopped letting me open up PNG files. I've been converting them in CS6 as a workaround (CS6 still functions properly), but it's getting pretty annoying...
I've also noticed that PS CC will only let me save in something like 12 or 13 different file formats; CS6 gives me close to double the file format options. CC is missing BMP, IFF, JPEG 2000, PCS, TARGA, and several other formats (not that I work with most of those, mind you, but it is a little strange that they've all just vanished...).
What's the scoop? why it would have just randomly stopped working? Maybe broken by a CC update...?
I'm running both CC and CS6 on OSX 10.7.5. CS6 has the Magic Bullet Photolooks 3rd party plugin installed, but CC doesn't have any 3rd party plugins.
I started a project in CS5, saved it, left it open, then opened the same file in CS6. Then I started steadily working on the file in CS6 for about 20 minutes. I saved frequently while working in CS6. Then Photoshop crashed, I believe because I had several smart objects open at once. However, when I checked the file I had been saving, it was still in an identical state to when I stopped working on it in CS5. Not only that, but the "recovered file" was about 10 minutes behind in CS6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently my photoshop CS5 has been playing up and often when I try to save files it will freeze at the point of clicking ok and crash. Today also it crashed when I tried to open a photoshop file.This is incredibly frustrating as I'm a graphic designer and trying to complete some urgent work but I'm getting nowhere because nothing I'm doing is saving and I have to keep starting over. It's literally crashed about 40 times the past day and I'm wasting so many hours that I just don't have.
My version as mentioned is CS5 and I updated it yesterday with no avail.

I don't think I've done anything for this to start happening it just came out of nowhere..I usually only do the same few things with the program and also havn't altered files or even the computer.
My 8 core 2.8 GHz Mac Pro has 10 GB RAM and a blank 100 GB scratch disk. Photoshop is always quick. Has been for years. Suddenly today, Photoshop is slow like molasses to open & save files. Lots of progress bars and wait cursors. Everything else on the Mac is fine. It boots quickly & normally, and other apps are happy. My boot drive, a clean installed Mountain Lion system, says S.M.A.R.T. Status: Verified. In Activity Monitor, a process with ID # 0, Kernel Task, was using 700 to 800 MB RAM, while another process, mds, with ID # 44, is using 350 MB RAM.
I should add that I booted from a backup system and its copy of Photoshop was also doing the same thing. In addition, a high level troubleshooter on Apple Discussions informed me that my present level of 500 MB RAM for Kernel Task is normal. So all I know is Photoshop is suddenly slow.
I have ps 7 with image ready. Whenever I try to open a file in image ready I get the following error message.
"Could not complete this operation becuase an assertion has failed."
If I open the file in PS first and then switch to Image ready it will work but then I egt the same error message when trying to save it.
I have re-installed ps but still no luck.
On [URL].... it says that you can convert your DDS files into TPF files, but I want to be able to open already save TPF files do I don't know how. I have also found this [URL]....which is an open source version of this progame which might hold some clues into make the TPF file openable in paint.net.
If it is possible, make a plug-in for Paint.NET to open this file format. I do not know how to code so I can't do anything about it. If not then it doesn't matter as I will try find some other way around it.
I would like to be able to save all open Illustrator files at once.
For example: I am working on a series or collection of designs. Each design has multiple artboards in it that make the files rather large. I am making minute changes to each one that require grunt work. I would like to be able to open 10-20 files at a time, copy and paste the chagnes i need, hit Save All and walk away.
