I am doing for myself logo for my mp3 in window media center, they are png with no background. the same logo can appear for different album, some look good while other look like there are some piece on black on the background. I know that windows as a hard time with png.

I have the latest drivers for my video card and this is a system dedicated to imaging. This never happened in Win7. You can see the difference in these two screen shots.
I found an annoying bug using photoshop cs6 with win 8 pro.
It only happens when i'm working on a file with layer. When I zoom in or out with the mouse wheel the background suddenly changes from gray to black or "trasparent" multiple times.
Already tried updating vga drivers and disabling gpu acceleration, with no results.
I recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro from Windows 7 and I have noticed some graphic glitches in CS6. The background flickering, the image becoming black, etc. After a bit a searching I found some others who were also having the issue. (Here and Here). I have also read the blog post by Jeffrey Tranberry recommending switching to Basic Drawing Mode which does solve the issue, however, by switching to Basic Drawing Mode what am I losing in functionality?
When looking through the PS Preferences I also noticed something interesting. Look at this screenshot: Notice the VRAM? 209310MB! This is one fast video card! Obviously this number is complete incorrect and I wonder if it is tied to the issue above?
Here are my PC Specs: CPU: AMD FX 4100 Quad Core 3.6 Ghz 64bit OS: Windows 8 Pro (Release version - upgraded from Windows 7) RAM: 8GB Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670 Video Driver: Catalyst 12.10 (Windows 8 compatible driver) Is this a PS issue or an issue within the video card driver and Windows 8? I have not seen other errors in Windows with other programs. (Granted other programs are not using the GPU like PS does.)
Photoshop is acting wonky now that i've installed windows 8. i had to upgrade my video drivers, amd radeon 5700 series. now when editing photos, the background goes black or transparent.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I started getting an error when trying to set the default colors and then flipping them. I also get a program error when I try to click on the foreground color and manually assigning it with white.
This is a Windows 7 Ultimate, with PS CS6.
I closed the program twice and ran into the same problem, then rebooted and got the same errors. As far as I can tell, this is the only tool or feature acting up, other than the actions which have this step in them.
Looking for an easy fix first, of course. Like maybe deleting the Prefs file? Mac people seem to have to do that regularly.
But, if nothing works, will I need to uninstall PS and reinstall it? Would that also mean I'd have to install all of my filter packages again, too?
Any tutorials or could talk me through rendering with an HDRI for both lighting and as a visible background through windows? I would like the HDRI to reflect in my scene and be visible. Would I still use the sun as a source of light? I am having an issue with moving the hdri as it is not mapped in my environment correctly. If you look out the windows it appears as though my house is floating.

I have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2008 to 2001. Now when opening a file from windows explorer (desktop vs the AutoCAD browser) and AutoCAD is not running. AutoCAD will startup and open a new drawing as well as bring up the dialog box for finding a file to open, which I cancel, THEN open the drawing that I have selected. I have not seen this before and am wondering what variable or option is causing to happen. I am also seeing two icons for the same drawing file in the Windows task bar.

But I saw a NASA video where this very intricate tree with branches and no leaves was made into a PNG perfect. Then they had the stars moving behind it. They didn't use a scissors tool. There was too much detail.
I just updated from Photoshop CS6 to CC. All of the file types I had associated with CS6 reverted to a default image program. When I attempted to associate these files, including photoshop psd files, win7 refused to recognize CC as a program I could associate files with!

I can work on picture as expected.But during the day, Photoshop doesn't want to open other file (any other file).I can continue to work on a picture that still open and can save it, but I can not open anything else.

I scanned some images using Phtoshop CS2 and saved them in Photoshope as jpgs. But apparently photoshop interpretted the end of the file name that I typed as a file extension - so a file that was called Portrait-06.22.1999 - was saved as a "1999" file as opposed to a jpg file. I can view these images in Windows Photo Viewer or Windows Live Photo gallery but they won't open in Photoshop. How do I change the file type so photoshop will recognize them? I tried just to add a JPG extension to the name of the file but that did not work. Also those photos that had this problem but were listed under "open recent" - I was able to get back in and save again as jpg and now they are fine.
View 11 Replies View RelatedOnce I used Photoshop 7, my Windows XP can review the thumbnail of the .PSD files. I can see the images from the folder and don't need to open them from Photoshop. But after I installed Photoshop CS3, the PSD files can't review in XP folder anymore. The thumbnails are the logo of PSD and I can't see the images without opening the CS3. How can I make PSD file review as the thumbnails in the XP folder?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 in Windows 7 64 (bit) - I've successfully used File Types Manager (freeware) to change file type icons (since the Windows file type editing has been removed). My problem is that JPEG, PNG, & GIF change in lockstep - (like you would expect all of a similar type - ex. JPG, JPEG, etc. to do). BMP and TIFF are not affected. Is it a Windows or Photoshop matter? (This was not a problem in Windows XP and CS.) I would just like to have the correct icon (provided in the Photoshop.exe file) associated with the various file types.

You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" The only way i have got on photoshop since is on safe mode or by completely reinstalling photoshop until i restart my computer again. Cannot save or save as to Windows server. Due to "program error." Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can save as fine to local drive. Can also drag and drop in the Finder to this server.
This is Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 (current). Once the error "could not save file name due to a program error" occurs, the file disappears from the Windows server.
I think it has something to due with the SMB connection. All other CS5 apps (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) "save" and "save as" fine. It is also fine performing the same procedure using Preview.
restore the the ability of Photoshop to open with a preview on windows machines. That is; a single click on a file from within Photoshop gives a small preview image to tell you what it is you are opening. This is crucial to professional photographers in the industry working quickly with lots of images as I do in the medical/scientific photography field.
Every other version of Photoshop has had this feature and I can tell you a lot of power users like myself are not using CS6 just because a single click doesn't preview what you are opening. My company just spent $10,000 upgrading six machines and no-one is using CS6 for work - they are sticking with CS5. CS6 is only good for 'playing around' with photos, if production is key, then to save time, we need to see what we are opening on a single click - it's a no brainer! Check the forums to see this that is true, and if you are reading this and agree with me, write and tell adobe to fix this - pronto!
I'm running PS CS4/mac on a Apple 30" display and have all my tool windows set up on the left side of the screen in three columns. When I open up a file, it is placed BEHIND my tools in the upper left hand corner so I have to keep moving it over to the right - is there a way when you open or create a new file that the window opens to the right of my tools?

Even though I select to change to one even color. No matter what layer I place o top or change, it shows the gradient. Some settings somewhere must cause this but I am unable to find out where or how. How do I get it back to default settings?
I've started a drawing in an empty file with one layer (I have deleted the initial Background layer, then created a New Layer which contains the drawing). How do I save this as tga but with transparent background? ie. so that if I put the saved .tga file over another image, only the drawing shows, without the background around it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have found the "Export Layers To Files" in File-->Scripts which is pretty slick. I have a PSD file with about 60 layers, so this is handy.
The trick though, is that when they get exported out to a file I want them all to have the same background.
I have a layer that I want to be the background for all the images, right now it's "Layer 1". Is it easy to modify the export all layers script to use Layer 1 on the image copy before saving it? It looks like the script takes each layer, creates a new file, copies the layer (which is transparent) and then saves as a JPG. I just want one extra step in there that will copy the Layer 1 layer for each image too.
