View 5 RepliesWhy can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed CS4 Design Premium and am having a problem with Photoshop images.
When I look in the file folder on my computer, PSD files do not have an image preview.
I checked in the preferences under "file handling" and "always save" is selected for "image previews."
Just changed to Illustator CS and now when we save with Tiff preview (opaque) and the graphic is imported into Word on a Windows box there is no preview (just a blank box). The file prints correctly. The preview shows ok on Word on a Mac. Anyone have any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAll what I get are gray previews with a newly built catalogue and also with an older one after having moved my pictures and LR to a new PC. The pictures contain some metadata like numbers and scores (stars or colors) of a former evaluation. These gray pictures appear in all modules, except in the web module. Only there I get the normal appearance. The monitor is recently calibrated, and I also deleted the .irdata file and got a rebuilt one, but this did'nt change the situation.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI primarily use LR on a win7 desktop. Several 100 gigs of images. I have a win7 notebook. I can't store the images because of disk space. But is it possible to have the catalog and previews synced to the notebook, so I could say show someone full screen previews? I know you can't go to the develop module. And until LR smart previews works with my existing catalog, I'd like to know how, and if I would be able to view full screen from the catalog not connected to a harddrive with the original files?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been able to in the past use the eyedropper tool to grab colors from browser windows and get the exact coded color if it's a css color. I'm using Photoshop cs5 on a mac with snow leopard. When I try to get any color from a browser window (both safari and firefox) photoshop will shift the color slightly.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to center the preloader in the browser. this is a single full page animation. I'm currently centering the stage using..
document.compositionReady...
sym.$("#Stage").css({"margin": "auto"})
which is working find for the stage but it doesn't cover the preloader. my preloader elements are "loaderbar" and "loading". URL... I tried....
<!--
<style>
#loader-bar { margin: auto; }
#loading { margin: auto; }
</style>
--> (without the comment tag)
in the header but it doesn't work for me. the loader is loading on the left of the browser window (full screen width is 1920) while the stage is loading in the center of the browser window. My stage size is 800x600. I tried including that in the css above but that didn't work either.
I've just worked on a large 16 bit image file in PS CC and saved it as a 4Gb .psb file and now I no longer see a preview in the OS or Bridge, just a PS icon. This is a major issue for me as I work with large files all the time and therefore have to save layered psb files on a daily basis. The lack of previews now with PS CC is more than an inconvenience.
With CS6 I have psb previews ok.
I tested two systems running Snow Leopard and latest Mountain Lion to no avail. I also already tried removing all caches, ran utilities to clean and repair permissions etc.
Is this a bug in PS CC?
I'm looking for a way to export all iproperties, (from a selection or a directory), from windows browser, and CSV import into excel.
What I'm looking to do is, be able to select hundreds of files from the windows browser, either select the directory, (and it's sub-directories), or a selection of files, and extract their iproperties, and place the contents into excel similar to exporting contacts from outlook and importing them into excel.
When in Photoshop CC I then go to file / open, my machine won't display preview thumbnails for each of my image files (.jpg, .gif, .png, .psd etc) and all I see is the blue Photoshop icon for each of these files, I have also tried changing the view options on the folder and change to medium, large and extra large thumbnails but again they all just display the Photoshop CC blue icon.
When I run Photoshop CS5 on this exact same machine it shows them! Is there a setting I need to change in Photoshop CC to get this to work, or is Adobe trying to get us to use bridge or?
I am running Windows 7.
I got the file browser up too high in Photshop 7 and can't figure out how to get it down so I can get to the flyout menu, etc.
I use 800x600 screen setting.
I can't get my file browser to work correctly. It was working great before. On the top right, all I see is the plus sign and the work Desktop, where is used to see the whole tree structure of folders and such. The other windows in the browser are working...just not the top left. I can't expand the + sign when I click it. When I do, I get a Photoshop error message that says "Could not complete your request because of a program error". I have WIndows Vista Home Basic. I know that sucks but it was working for a long time with it. Also 2 gigs of ram.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a question concerning the file browser in CS. I have been using two monitors for some time, having all my tool palettes on one monitor and using the other monitor for photo editing. I would like to have the File Browser on the second monitor with my tool palettes, so I could leave it open all the time. I haven't found a way to move the file browser to the second monitor.
I can click and drag the tool palettes from one monitor to the other with the mouse, but when I click in the title bar of the file browser and try to drag it to monitor no. 2, it will only move off the edge of one monitor, and not move over to the next. Anyone have a suggestion of how to move the file browser from monitor one to monitor two?
Upon boot, the file browser opens, adding about 20-30 seconds to my load time.

When I tried to use file browser in PS7 this morning, it opened and, instead of showing the directory tree structure that I last left it in, it only showed the desktop with the + sign to expand that folder. When I click the + sign, I get the following error message:
"Could not complete your request because of a program error."
What could have happened and how can I fix this so I can use my file browser again?
Does PSE 10 have a file or photo browser?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've read that among the new functions Adobe added to the CS File Browser is the ability to sort selected images on a number of fields, for example date/time created, file size, image width, height, etc.
Question for CS users who use Batch...
Once images are selected and sorted in the desired sequence using the CS File Browser sort function, does this mean that when one invokes the Batch dialog (either from the FB menu or the File > Automate menu and Source=File Browser) the images will be batch processed in the sorted order?
In PS7 (and earlier versions) the order of batch processing has always been in alphabetical file name order.
I have my PS CS file browser preferences set to "High Quality Previews" and the previews look great--sharp and crisp! However, when I actually open up the image it doesn't seem as sharp--it's a little soft.
What is the "high quality preview" doing to make it look so sharp? Does anyone know what settings the preview is using?
I want my actual images to look as sharp as the previews! It seems like a major teaser that the preview looks BETTER than the opened image.
In Photoshop Elements 2 the file browser has got stuck and is obscuring the tool bar above (used for instance when using Text) - also the File Browser More Button is missing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I reorganized my system so that my image files were on a different drive that I had previously been using a backup drive, so no additional file copying was involved. When I ran Lr it did not find any images, as expected, at the original location and I told it where to find them by pointing it to the new parent image folder. That worked fine but then it seemed as if all of the previews had to be rebuilt on the fly by Lr as I went to each folder. Could it be that the previews in the preview cache are location specific to drive/volume level rather than just folder level ? Or is there a way to aim that ole preview cache at the new image locations ?
Likewise, would this apply to the ACR cache too ? i.e. if I point Lr at the same images in the same folder names on a different drive, will the ACR cache data still be relevant or should I just scrap it and start again ?
I told Lr to rebuild previews for many of my images and it did so overnight, but now the preview cache is about 30GB instead of about 12GB. It's possible that I picked up previews of images that were previously not in the cache, but would the new cache still contain previews of the now non-existant images at the old locations ?
I have previously reverted to system backups in which the whole drive volume had previously been been copied intact. Lr always worked fine in those situations. Is my present problem because I shifted the images folder relative to the drive volume where Lr is running ?
I'm using Lr 3.6 on a 2011 MacBook Pro with Mac OSX 10.6.8.
