Nov 17, 2004how fancy up your text? Specifically, I wanted to know if there was anyway to add some graphical easthetics to text such as shading or colored patterns. How could I get a 3D effect going, either making the text look like it was carved into stone or pop out bubble-style?

Nov 16, 2005I dont really know how to describe what I'm trying to say. But these lines I'm talking about looks some what similar to the type of curly lines on a dollar but a lil more basic.
I was just curious how to make these lines I want to put them in the corner of my web page.

Notice the blue bluring outside the main page. I know that this is done as a table background, but it also changes size on diffirent pages
do table backgrounds stretch? or do they repeat? is the guy using a diffirent background image for each page on hes site? Also another thing is that hes using the same image in the middle table on the left? or is that just the same image but stretched with a diffirent filename?
CorelDRAW X5 :: Fancy Scroll Graphics
Jul 8, 2012I'm trying my noob hand at making fancy scroll graphics. I am not sure if it's naturally a time consuming task or if there is an easier way (which I haven't discovered yet) in CorelDRAW X5.Here is the closest example I can find on what I am trying to do:
You will note that the lines in the Scroll varies width and it is a symmetrical graphic.What I want to know, is there an easy way to recreate something like this by scratch (not doing PowerTrace)?Or is it a time consuming project using the shape tool and adjusting nodes?

May 3, 2013I've look at many sites in the last 24 hours to find a tutorial that will show me how to select and delete a dying petal of a flower, copy a another one form the same flower and rotate it and replace the deleted one.
If I knew what the function was called I would have a better chance, but I am the proverbial newbie with any photo manipulation software.

Apr 3, 2013i have a historic residence i am working on and was wanting to sharpen my modelling skills a bit, but i have a fancy concrete baluster and i do not know how to model it. i would imagine create a profile as a pline and then array it around a center point, but does this make it a 3d model of just 2d items rotated around a 3d point.

Feb 3, 2013Coreldraw has a user-selectable option to export text "As text" (with or without font embedding) or "As curves". But if the text has a transparency applied to it, then Coreldraw always exports it as curves regardless.
This is a bug. The SVG spec clearly states that text is painted like any other path and so can have SVG opacity applied to it.
Problem applies to X6 and X5.

Oct 5, 2013When I use Tamil fonts in Photoshop, the letters are correctly getting displayed in layers palette in tthe corresponding text layes, but the same in document not getting displayed properly, the letters are misplaced. Same with Illustrator also. Donno wats the issue.

Apr 5, 2012I have a label type form that was created in CorelDraw 9 and now I am involved in a change to the document. I can open this form in Corel 9 no problem. When I try to open it in Corel X5 it says there are missing fonts. I have both programs on the same computer yet in X5 it can't find the fonts.
Some of the changes are adding things the where made in X5 and if I copy them into the original Corel 9 I can’t do anything with them, they are just there to look at.
I am trying to find the fonts from a free down load but all I see are 30 day trials.
In X5 I have tried to use the substitute fonts to find the correct fonts but they are not there.
What it wants are "Times New Roman CYL - Normal and Times New Roman CYL - Bold.

Oct 9, 2012Once I installed windows 7, while I WAS using PSE 9, I had the tiny font problem. I stopped using PSE for 2 years. I just installed PSE 11. Though better, the Font is still way smaller than I would like. Maybe it's just tougher for seniors? Can they not make the font adjustable? I was told there is no way to increase the size of the font?

Sep 26, 2013We have several similar installation in our office, but I am the only one with this problem. All of the annotative text on drawings is unreadable because it is jumbled - in this case Helvetica. We have upgraded clean install from AutoCad 2010 to 2014 - no luck. We reinstalled all of the fonts in both the system and AudtoCad (TrueType and SHX files) - no luck. Changing size or scale - no luck. I have not seen this specific issue before and don't have font issues in any other program.

May 17, 2013So I am running x6 ver. 16.3.0.114 and we use Corel for all of our artwork designs. However just as of yesterday, I am consistently crashing any time I add/alter and sort of text. Sometimes it's as simple as trying to change the font from the object properties tab. Others is as soon as I try to paste text into the program. I have had no issues up until yesterday.
No new programs were installed to my knowledge. Nothing was changed on my computer. Corel has simply spazzed out.
Illustrator :: Can CS3 Highlight Text With Missing Fonts Like InDesign Does
Feb 7, 2013Im working with a clients file and being told Im missing some fonts. There is text ALL OVER this thing and it will be a major headache to see where the font problems are located. When I open a file like this in InDesign where a font is mssing, its highlighted in large pink boxes that stand out real easy. Does Illustrator have a similar feature?

May 6, 2013It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.

Nov 28, 2013I had been using 2.8.0, adding some text to graphics. I came back from a brief break, and the next time I added text, the font was extremely narrow, to the point that it was illegible.
At first I tried simply shutting GIMP down and restarting. No such luck. Next, I uninstalled GIMP, then I ran CCleaner to get rid of any residual files and settings, then I reinstalled GIMP, still using the 2.8.0 Windows installer, and still, the issue persisted.
** EDIT ** I tested ALL fonts, the problems happens with each one.
So I uninstalled again, did the CCleaner thing, then downloaded and installed 2.8.8, and the problem still persists.
Again, fonts and texts had been working without an issue all day. I stepped away from my PC to get food. There was no one in the house that could have messed with any settings, no pets to accidentally press keys or anything like that.
I am at a complete loss. I've looked at every possible setting I could think of that could possibly impact how fonts are rendered, and changing settings still does nothing.
I have found an inconvenient workaround for this problem, but at least I can now get some work done.
The problem still occurs when I try to insert text into an EXISTING image, but if a create a NEW IMAGE with a background color, text displays and renders as it should. If I choose a transparent background, I still get the problem with the text rendering too narrow to be legible.
So something about existing images and/or transparent backgrounds contributes to this issue. But as long as I create my text layer in a new image, I can then just copy and paste that layer into the image I want to edit, and I can even edit the text once it has been pasted without problems.
Still, this is very inconvenient, especially when I am trying to place text in precise positions.

Sep 25, 2012issues using True Type Fonts when printing some text through CorelDraw x6. Basically I do screen printing, and I have issues printing TTF's... The text when it prints out chops letters/adds spacing where its not needed, and towards the end of the sheet of vellum - starts to print the first letter of word on the left over again...
I haven't had issues printing off of my HP printer, but that broke so I invested in a BROTHER HL-2230 monochrome laser printer.

Using the plotter configuration editor, you can treat True Type fonts as "text" or "graphics". How about .shx fonts? My goal is to plot drawings (containing .shx fonts) in PDF whose text are content readable.
