Photoshop :: Unwanted Screen Ripple Effect On Print
Aug 1, 2012
When I view an image at full screen a slight ripple effect appears, I thought it was just an issue with my GPU rendering settings and the ripple goes away when I zoom in on the image.
The problem is this ripple effect is showing up on the printed image.
I am trying to add a "ripple" effect onto this sphere to make it look like a drip of water was falling on it. (any tips on the sphere itself are also greatly appreciated)

I'm looking how to achieve the circle ripple'ish effect that can someone be seen in the outer points of image marked with "1" - (ignore the lens flare itself, don't want it there). I've just played around with some tools to see if I could get somewhere near the effect - this is not quite perfect though. The image marked with "2" got a very low opacity example of this. Â Im looking to do something like nr "2" with the white "ripple"/glow'ish effect. I figured it could be done in a manual combination of -> making a circle shape -> applying some effect to it -> copy the layer -> scale it down etc. But haven't been apple to find a useable combination and was hoping there perhaps were some filter or other method. Â EDIT: click the image to see it correctlyÂ
I'm designing a wrap for a hummer. My client wants it to look like the hummer has a force field and show a few bullets hitting the truck and causing a ripple. I googled this and found out that the "zig zag" filter under "distort" does this. Only problem is, this option is greyed out on my comp. It could be that my project file is half a gigabite (required for the size of printing on the truck).
I have a layer which includes font that's been merged with another layer. I want it to appear to "ripple". The problem here is I can't just use some random ripple effect. I need to to correspond with the layer below it which is a pic of a wavy piece of paper. So it needs to be accurate enough so that no one will notice.
After I import a .3ds model, then select the brush tool, the paint either seems to mirror itself on the model or paints the entire y axis. What is happening: If I dab my brush on the model a dot appears symmetrically on both sides of the model. If I use one small stroke the entire y axis on the model gets painted. However I have not found much discussion of the issue I'm having. Most of what I'm seeing says Import > Paint.I'm using Photoshop CC
I haven't altered the material, at least not consciously. As you can see in the image the dark areas of the terrain have turned into this nasty black mess. The project as a whole has a long way to go, including the material used for the terrain etc
See the snapshot below. There is a point on the timeline when the screen flips around and the video continues. How to cancel this effect? How this effect might have gotten there so that I can avoid having it happen again? The screen makes a 360 degree revolution. The video consists of on image on the main track with 6 pip tracks.
I downloaded and installed Service Pack 2 for X4 some time ago. It created havoc with my highly customized workspace and I reverted to the System Restore point set before installing SP2. So, no SP2 on my system.
Corel Guide>Settings>Messages, both messages UN-ticked.
Clicked on Check for updates using the Corel Guide and also under Help>Check for updates, to see what happens.
Nothing happens, they just stop running I then close X4 and (quite a while later, usually when doing something else) a screen appears "An important update is available for PSPX4 Download update now!
I designed an image in Photoshop CS6 and brought it in After Effects I wanted to add rain then following CC drizzle effect so that the image I designed looks like the drizzle is hitting the character shoulders and arm area.  As I add the drizzle effect I have some areas around the charcter that the drizzle is also hitting how do I remove the unwanted drizzle effect areas ?I tried eraser tool but that did not work unless Im doing that wrong.  The last thing I'm having touble with, how do I get my audio sound effect ( rain sound ) to play at the same time as the rain fall effect and drizzle effect all at the same time?
When adding a grain pattern effect to an object in Illustrator CS6 I get an odd bevel that surrounds the object. There is nothing in the Appearance window to suggest that there should be a bevel and I didn't add it myself.
Is there some setting I am missing or an easy way to remove the effect? For now I am masking the object with a slightly smaller object but it's starting to drastically increase the size of my file.
I printed a few photos with the print function in lightroom 3 (print button). A few hours later, i reopened LR to print some more photos, and now the print button has been replaced with print to file. Print one button is all greyed out aswell.
Also, LR is adding unwanted margins to all photos in the print module, and when i try to 0 out the margin, LR tells me it needs a minimum margin...
All printer settings is as it was before. Â What has happened? Â I have been around all preferences and so on, but nothing changes.
I cannot seem to reset the print template screen while in the " Print " module. It has adopted the smallest pic size with three times the normal border. I wish to reset to full screen in print module
I've been trying replicate the effects used with this very interesting website called photofunia. How it works is you choose an image out of their selection, then choose a picture with a face to upload. Within seconds it photoshops the face you chose perfectly in the image.
my image chopped into their stock image
Notice the tv lines accross the screen? Well they seem to not be visible on a portion of his face. Right in the center of the screen, the lines aren't visible like the rest of the screen.
How can I convert a grayscale photo to a vertical LINE B/W image (no grayscale)? I can't find a way to do it with the filters in PS CS6. Is there a plug-in that will do that? Â Mac OSX10.6.6. Photoshop CS6.
I have this video on the comp., and I want to copy a picture of a video from the video. So I press the print screen button and it copys the whole window but it doesnt copy the video.
I'm using CS2, and i wanna get a print screen of one of the pallets (one of the little windows on the right). when i click ALT+PrintScreen on the keyboard, it copies the entire screen.
I tried on someone else's computer using PS 5.5 and pressing ALT+Printscreen does only the required pallet.
I want to try to recreate this effect of a circular ripple - actually I want to recreate this pic. I have read how to create rippled water, but not a circular ripple effect.
I'm running CS6 on a Win7, 64bit machine. Â I've used PS off and on for a few years. Everytime I upgraded; no problem output quality is the same. But since CS6 I have a problem between my PC and print and display on other PCs. The images on my PC look excellent, vibrant with good colour balance. But if I open them on my laptop or look at them on someone else's machine the contrast is very dark, with a reddish tone. It's the same results with printing. Consequently I'm working in the dark trying to second guess what final images will look like. Â I'm not sure why and it's confined just to PS as everything seems calibrated correctly becuase any of my Illustrator, Premier or After Effects projects look as they should on my monitor as well within the tolarences expected on my laptop or anyone else's PC.
I am preparing some art for print which is being done by a professional printer. I want to be able to match my monitor display so that it accurately represents what will be printed by using the printer's drivers.Â
In general the performance of CS3 is suffient for everything except when I go to print. It takes over 2 minutes for the "Print" Window to come up. I've done some online research and have made some recommended settings chnages that are suppose to improve performance, but nothing is working for this particular issue.
Just purchased CS4 and Lightroom. CS4 has some funny things going on, or I just need a little a guidance...? I was working on http://www.photoshoplab.com/pixelated-mosaic-edges.htmlthis tutorial and once I get to applying the ocean ripple effect it does nothing. I tried a reboot, shut down and can not get this filter to apply or work. I've also noticed that deleting a layer is grayed out and I can't even drag the layer to the trash icon. The layer is NOT locked. I'm on a windows vista 32 bit machine with 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX
Got specs for converting a print ad to jpg for ATM: 800wx600h; 72dpi; 256 colors. As far as I know, the only way to get 256 colors is to convert to index. When I do, the halftones get slightly grainy.
Also, I can only save the file as .psd, not .jpg as required. How to convert my file to 72 dpi jpg with 256 colors.
I am working in PhotoShop CS in CMYK. I am satisfied with my colors in PhotoShop, but when I import the graphics into InDesign, the colors dull considerably. I take this to mean they will print similarly.
I have had issues with getting my CMYK files to print like they look on screen. Does anyone have any tips on how I could get what I see on the screen to match more closely what will come out of the printer?
All of a sudden I have a strange problem. I am unable to paste into adobe photoshop once I press the print screen button. I am however able to print into the likes of paint or other applications, but it seems to tbe photoshop that is affected.
If I copy a image from a website or so and paste in photoshop it works.
I would guess that it may be something to do with the internal clipboard of the application, but has anyone any ideas. I still use Photoshop 7 for what it is worth on XP.
