I've been using Photoshop for awhile now, but have just recently run into this issue. When I try to use a bright color, it doesn't work - it just automatically adjusts itself to different shade. Now, I figure this is an issue with my color setting, but I can't figure it out.

I attached an image of what I''m talking about below. You can see that although I've chosen to a bright green - it shows up much differently.
So I start to work on something in Photoshop CS6 and suddenly certain colors don't show up right. Specifically bright bright blues and greens show as black. It seems to work in 32-bit RGB, but these colors have worked fine in standard 8-bit and I've worked with them before. Thumbnails, color picker, and saving for web seem to load the colors just fine. From what I can tell, in this random range it goes to black with saturation hits 100 in the color picker.
Attached is a screenshot. The circle is supposed to be bright blue (00d4f6) and the central rounded square is supposed to be Twitter's blue. both don't show up except for some slight coloring on the edges.
When opening a photo with some bright yellows in the foreground, the yellows all become "hot", and show up like it's some sort of a filter being applied. This is making it impossible to work with the photo & make adjustments in the Camera RAW lab. The same thing does not happen when the photo is opened to "edit" directly (versus working with it in Camera RAW lab).Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to elements 11, and am having a great deal of difficulty seeing the icons, with the 3 different colors of gray and light blue icons.it is all running together and taking a long time to find things. PSE9 did not have this issue. I was able to change the background area only.can we custom the colors, or is their a app that will let us.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy can't I get my Epson Printer to print the colors on the monitor>  First time this is happening.  Printer is new...ink okay...and history with the printer has been okay.  Took some photo's yesterday...blue heron, picking up a fish in a pond.  Water is blue...heron is grey and white and has other yellowish and maroon coloring as well. The fish he caught was a gold fish.  The colors on the monitor are wonderful.

The photo's were cropped severely.  But are still clear.   Now the water is pink...and the heron is a disgusting color of grey green.  Have chosen ICM...chosen Adobe color profile. Used premium glossy white papers, Epson inks. Â

Tried printing it out without ICM and with different papers....still the same...Either everything is hot pink, or dull gray brown. This was my first ever heron photo that had any merit, and I so want to print it out for everyone to see. I was so lucky to catch the fishing capture. Does the cropping have anything to do with the printing of the photo?
I drew a path in Illustrator and it won't let me apply some brushes and colors to it. When I click on the object the stroke color shows a different color than what it actually is. Another shape I drew at the same time is recoloring just fine, but the other one will not. How do I get the colors to work on my path?

Since upgrading to LR 4.1 the "edit in PS function" in LR does not work. The process starts but then appears to hang. I have to force quit PS in order to be able to move on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I am working on this document and it has silver background. I go to print preview (Photoshop cs3 and cs4 on Vista) and I get color looking more like bronze looking but when I do print, it comes out just like it should (in working mode which is Monitor RGB with Proof colors checked).
This setting is the only one I've used to make sure image/psd looks exactly like what it should when printing. I tried the default Working CMYK with and without Proof colors but it's still showing me the bronze look instead of silver. I've looked on the net and no exact easy fix for this was found. I really really appreciate any help.
Another simple question is regarding size. I'm working on a document size of 17.5 x 8.7 inches and the actual Banners will be printed at size 175 x 87 inches (5 banners each at 35inch wide but combined into a big one). So essentially, I'm working at 10% the size of what the final print will be and my file size is 760mgs. You can only imagine how big the file would be if I work on the actual size.
unable to select "printer manages colors" in the print settings, manage colors dialog. The options are grayed out and the default is "color sync". This started yesterday with LR4 so I upgraded to LR5 and it is the same.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot get Dynamic Input to work correctly on my AutoCAD 2013 installation. Polar Format is always the default no matter what the variable DYNPIFORMAT is set to. Neither using 0 or 1 as the setting will enable Cartesian Format to be the default for the second or next point. Changing the settings in the Pointer Input Settings dialogue box to Cartesian Format also has no effect. 2nd point always is entered as Polar Format. The over-ride for cartesian (,) does work though. I simply want the default to always be cartesian .

I've tried several tricks but I am so unexperienced that every time when i'm trying to adjust it the whole image gets affected and looks screwed up. When the area is selected it becomes too visible that it was edited. how i can make that sun to shine softer and not to distract attention from the faces?

Can I create a custom preview mode so that when I choose it and press Ctrl + y it shows the image very bright without changing it.I need this because I want to see and edit more details in the dark areas which I may not be seeing on my monitor or room lighting conditions and thus to create images with more rich and dynamic shading in the darks so when viewed on brighter monitors or when levels are eventually changed the darks reveal nice shading instead of flat black.I'm looking for per image solution that doesn't affect other images or applications like using global gamma.

I am starting to color some old line art (cartoons) but can't get any (eraser, brush etc) tools to work on the non background layer. I could just auto fill on the background but that is too finicky, too many open shapes that end up filling the whole page in that color! I want so that I can color in indiscriminately w/o worrying about covering my lines.
How come I can't get so that when I erase, I don't get the transparency checkerboard underneath? I put the BG layer on top then the erase tool does not work! What fundamental thing did I forget?
I'm trying to use a point cloud in Revit, and I can't make Snap to Point Cloud work.

The "Snap to Point Cloud" box in Manage/Snaps is checked, but there is no snap available when I eg. try to insert a wall in plan view.

I use Revit Architecture 2012, Build 20110916_2132(x64) Update Release 2 with Point Cloud Hotfix installed. The point cloud is indexed in Revit from a .pts file.
Having cut together a short commercial recently, I have been unable to export my sequence/ work. Â There are no error messages, only incomplete exported versions of the sequence (sometimes 1 second, sometimes 8 seconds!) or nothing at all. Â It will go through the motions and not generate an exported file.

I have attempted to export my sequence multiple ways - from the timeline, from the media library and from the mediahub - with identical results. Â I'm totally at a loss. Â I've also gone back to a sequence which I was able to export successfully one month ago and now I get the same problem - either no result or some fractional piece of the edit - never more than a few seconds. Â My finished edit, by the way, is a 30-second spot.

For example, here's one way I've attempted to export:

1. Â I select my sequence from the media library and right-click for export. Â
2. Â I select movie, choose my destination, and select a format preset (I've tried just about every preset, hoping it was a preset error of some kind), and
3. Â I hit export. Â

Instead of the spinning prompt in the lower left corner, showing me a percentage countdown (or count-up) - which was present a month ago when I was las exporting a show -I get a quick audio mixdown prompt in the lower left then nothing. Â It all happens in less than 1 second from the time I press "export".

I've copied the console log for your review. Â This particular effort/ screenshot resulted in an 8-second clip, which is the longest one (still incomplete) I've been able to generate since I attempted to export starting yesterday. Â Again, my sequence is 30 seconds, and it either does nothing, generates an empty file (45k in size) or creates an incomplete movie file (usually 1 or 2 seconds).
I have followed the instructions here [URL]......... installed GTK+, fiddled and cajoled and still I cannot get python scripts to run from within Gimp. The scripts show up in the menu within Gimp, but when clicked on, do nothing.
I am using Windows 7 32 bit, Gimp 2.6. I installed Python 2.6, pygtk all-in-one installer 2.2.
I want to darken the background (sky) as it is too bright?

When I try to fill a figure using gradient i get: "Unable to fill the boundary with solid." But when I try to fill the figure using hatch I get it to work. The problem is I want to use gradient.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing CS5.When I try to move any object by selecting and then trying to drag, it won't let me. It allows me to drag while selected maybe half an inch before not moving anymore, and then snaps back to the original position anyway. I CAN move by using transform - move, or selecting and using arrow keys. When I restart my computer everything seems fine, but then it soon gives me this same problem.

Also, when I'm having the object moving issue I also have problems with dropdown menus. For example when printing, I can see the list of printers, but clicking them has no effect. Another example is the Preferences menu box, clicking "Type" or "Units" has no effect.
I just installed Lr4 with update 4.3. . First when i click a photo in develop mode it shows up very small. If I adjust the zoom the photo does erratic things. It gets big but with massive distortion then it will clear up but will have an effect like looking into a bunch of mirrers. Also i can not get the adjustment tools to work at all.
