Photoshop :: Unable To Change File Name In Bridge
Jul 2, 2012I thought Bridge was a photo management utility. I can't even change a photo file name. Is there a way to do it, or what kind of photo management utility is this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Photoshop Elements 11 for MAC and the option to change file names is grayed out. ( I am able to change the folder names.). In previous versions of PSE that I had on my PC I was always able to change the photo/file names to the shot dates. How can I accomplish this in PSE 11 for MAC?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am not able to change the color of a layer in one of my drawing files. When I make a new layer in the drawing file it is the same color as the layer above it (as it should be) but I am unable to change the color in the new layer either.
I can change colors in other drawing files on this computer. The color of a layer can be changed if I open the drawing file on another computer.
If the drawing is "save as" to a new file name and the new drawing is opened, it still will not change the color of a layer.
If the drawing is "save as" on the computer that will allow the color to be change and opened on this computer it will not allow the color of the layer to be changed.
Bridge (CS5) unable to read cache.

So, these are the issues.  Just one of the folders that previously would show thumbnails now only shows DNG icons, and none will open in Photoshop to let me work on previous image.   Issue #2 - can't download images with Photo Downloaders - both my wife's Canon G9 only shows CR2 icons, and my Nikon D300 only shows NEF icons - neither of these issues had appeared before or been an issue. Third issue. None of my Bridge folders - even those with regular thumbnail immages- will open now - get a message that says words to the effect of Photoshop doesn't recognize this type of file. Computer is a Mac, with OS 10.5.8

I recently tried to make more room on HD, so must have taken some critical files/commands out by accident. I'm sure that in trying to correct things have made things even worse- as may be noticed by the two snapshots I've attached. The first is one from a library from my user section. The second library image is from my hard drive. Hopefully you and others aren't laughing or crying too much over what you see - redundantcy, etc! All of my energies have focused on taking photos, obviously none to proper setup/use of organizing things on my Mac. I am most anxious to getting back to working with and saving images.

I can not open CR2 file in CS4 or Bridge. The CR2 images show in the preview window when I click the "open" button under "file". When I select the image to open I get "Unable to complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I have uninstalled and re-installed the software, installed all the updates and get the same results.

I need to change my default for bridge. When I double click a picture it doesnt drop it in photoshop instead to a paint program in my computer. How do I change the default?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I double click on a photo in Bridge CC to open it in Photoshop CC for processing, I get an error message. "Windows cannot find 'C:program filesadobeadobePhotoshop CS4 (64 bit)Photoshop.exe." Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
Â
I then tried File>Open in and discovered that "Photoshop" is the default instead of Adobe Photoshop CC as the default. I can't find anything in Edit>Preferences that enables me to correct the problem.

CS4 was uninstalled years ago when I upgraded to CS5. CS5 has also been uninstalled.
I have ADOBE CS3 10, Bridge & Photoshop, Windows XP, Dell, 1 gig of ram.
I have always kept my pics in list form except whn using them. Now I only have the option of filmstrip thumbstrips data, and the icon also disapeared. I can't find where to get this option back. Surley I don't have to reload the program.
how do I change default to open CS6 bridge photos?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to the Creative Cloud on my PC, downloaded PS CS6 - Bridge and Camera Raw. I'm configuring and working with CR2 files, no problem, however, Bridge will not let me delete, rename or update the metadata of my jpgs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded CS5 Design Premium to CS6 Design & Web Premium. Most of my preferences (layout, etc) were imported correctly from CS5. When I right-click (PC, Windows 7) on the Bridge CS6 thumbnail, and click on 'Open with ', there was a collection of Microsoft programs (COM Surrogate 6.1, Microsoft PowerPoint 12.0, Publisher 12.0, Windows Live Photo Gallery 15.4), and no Photoshop (Default). When I used the WIndows file-associations program, and Photoshop CS6 was associated with *.psd files, then it appeared in the 'Open with ...' menu as Photoshop (Default). However, the other Microsoft programs are still present. How do I get rid of these and add the relevant Adobe programs (Ai, Id, Dw, etc),

I'm unable to view RAW/CR 2 image files shot with a Canon 5D Mkii in Bridge. I have no problem with CR 2 files from other cameras just this new one. I can view them on Canon's Browser, so I know the info's there, but I need ot work in Bridge and PS2. Is there a RAW upgrade for Bridge?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was working on three images in Photoshop CS3, when I went to open them from Bridge for review, two of three files were reduced to tiny white squares with a dogear in the top right corner, a little blue bounding box containing three tinier red green and blue somethings so small I couldn't even see what they were with my jewellery spec.
Nothing happened when I clicked on them, no error message, nothing. I managed to get one of them in 'reveal' - which opened up a larger blue bounded box with the red button containing a cross with the message 'cannot open as not right kind of file'.
Every time I make minor adjustments to a photo in Camera Raw within Adobe Bridge, it saves the edits in a DW (Dreamweaver) file next to that photograph. I have not changed any settings recently and don't know why it would start doing that all of a sudden.
When I delete that DW file, all of the edits to that photo disappear and it reverts back to the original. Every time I click on the DW file, it takes me to Dreamweaver and opens a window with a whole bunch of code. How can I go back to having everything I do in Camera Raw save to/into the photo itself?
when I save an image in photoshop (file size 26mb) it shows as a 70.7 mb in bridge or window explorer. Why?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install the cs6 update and it keeps telling me to close bridge.exe...it isn't open.  what do I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use my photoshop daily and have about 50000 images on my computer so very much need the bridge to be able to view them all and select the ones I want. for the past few days I have been getting "photoshop has encountered an error and needs to close" every time I try to open a file through bridge, quite often I also get the same error message on the bridge as well a few seconds later.
Â
I have tried reinstalling photoshop, I even tried deleting all the presets which I have added over the years and trying it straight from the reinstall, it still does the same,
I used to able to double click on an image in bridge and it would come up in ps. It doesnt do anything now. I have cs3 and bridge and i havent changed anything...
i noticed it said that Com surrogate 6.0 was default...
i think thats some vista lingo crap.
For some unknown reason...CS2 has started placing "Adobe Bridge Cache" file shortcuts on my desktop. When I click on one, I receive a Win XP error message that says the file .bc is unkown and can't be opened.
These shortcuts have never appeared before. Now the simple act of opening Bridge and looking at jpeg files seems to initiate it.
Questions: Why is PS doing this? Do I need to pay attention to it? If not, how do I stop PS from cluttering up my desktop.
Anyone seen this problem? real hassle, and says may effect searches.

Â
Imagine taking these 'chicklets' and pressing them onto a bowling ball instead of lying on a flat table. Is there any way to do that in CS6 or am I going to have to do this in another 3D application?
Is there a way I can edit the registry so that in Adobe Bridge, under edit, preferences, file type associations, the jpg extension is forced to use the 32-bit version of Photoshop? I can do it manually, but is there a registry key i can export to apply it to multiple computers?
