Apr 23, 2013I get this error message when I open Bridge CS6, a problem has arisen. Can not read cache. Try empty cache buffer settings to correct the problem. I have tried this several times but the message will not disappear.

Nov 10, 2012work with an Imac, version Moutain Lion 10.8.2 and with PS6.I get this message when opening PS6 Bridge, see upper section of the annex. If I click Ok pressure I can continue working.Don't know what good that cache content and for which this actually serves. have already emptied via preferences cache cache, this problem is not yet solved.

"There was an error in Bridge causing the cache cannot be read. Try to clear the cache in the Central cache preferences to resolve the situation."

May 29, 2012Since installing CS6, I keep getting a pop-up message whenever I first start to open up Bridge. The message says: "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation." I have cleared the cache, but the message keeps appearing.

Feb 28, 2008For some unknown reason...CS2 has started placing "Adobe Bridge Cache" file shortcuts on my desktop. When I click on one, I receive a Win XP error message that says the file .bc is unkown and can't be opened.
These shortcuts have never appeared before. Now the simple act of opening Bridge and looking at jpeg files seems to initiate it.
Questions: Why is PS doing this? Do I need to pay attention to it? If not, how do I stop PS from cluttering up my desktop.

Jan 20, 2013In Bridge I got an error message saying I needed to purge the cache folder, but when I attempt to do that, everything freezes and I have to force quit Bridge. I was told to go to the Bridge cache folder in "library" and delete specific folders there to solve my problem. Unfortunately, I cannot find "library' neither by opening folders and looking nor by doing a search for "library".

While I have a 500 Gb hard drive, I notice that the Bridge CS 6 cache is getting larger quickly (looking forward to 1 Terabyte SSDs).
I have most of my images on external hard drives, but Bridge CS6's cache seems to be on my computer.
Can I store the Bridge cache locally?
So, if I have 1000 images on hard drive A, the cache for them would be on hard drive A.
And for 100 TIFFS on hard drive B, the cache would be on hard drive B.
And for the 100 most recent TIFFs I keep on my computer's hard drive, the Bridge cache would be on my computer.
It this what checking the box next to "Automatically Export Caches To Folders When Possible" does or am I misunderstanding this - and this option only puts COPY of the cache files on the external hard drive, but the Bridge cache file on my computer still contains all the images, not matter on which hard drive they'd be?

Apr 12, 2013I have upgraded my PC to windows 8, and now Font size is about size 2 - I can not read the font, this is a huge problem. HUGE.
I have managed to get Microsoft help via phone, they suggest reducing the screen resolution, but this makes everything BLURRY, so that is not an option when working with Graphics.

Mar 31, 2012I am saving the metadata in LR4 (as I normally do with LR3) and not all the adjustments are registering in Bridge CS5 or Adobe Camera RAW.
The develop panels (i.e. tone, presence) in LR4 have obviously changed and don't exactly match the current Adobe Camera RAW adjustment panel and so I am noticing that all the topmost develop tools such as Tone (Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks) and Presence (clarity, vibrance, saturation) are not registering/landing in Bridge.

Apr 30, 2012Re: Icon issues in Bridge CS3 and also with Photo Downloader that have never been there before.
So, these are the issues. Just one of the folders that previously would show thumbnails now only shows DNG icons, and none will open in Photoshop to let me work on previous image. Issue #2 - can't download images with Photo Downloaders - both my wife's Canon G9 only shows CR2 icons, and my Nikon D300 only shows NEF icons - neither of these issues had appeared before or been an issue. Third issue. None of my Bridge folders - even those with regular thumbnail immages- will open now - get a message that says words to the effect of Photoshop doesn't recognize this type of file. Computer is a Mac, with OS 10.5.8
I recently tried to make more room on HD, so must have taken some critical files/commands out by accident. I'm sure that in trying to correct things have made things even worse- as may be noticed by the two snapshots I've attached. The first is one from a library from my user section. The second library image is from my hard drive. Hopefully you and others aren't laughing or crying too much over what you see - redundantcy, etc! All of my energies have focused on taking photos, obviously none to proper setup/use of organizing things on my Mac. I am most anxious to getting back to working with and saving images.

Sep 22, 2013I can not open CR2 file in CS4 or Bridge. The CR2 images show in the preview window when I click the "open" button under "file". When I select the image to open I get "Unable to complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I have uninstalled and re-installed the software, installed all the updates and get the same results.

I have many other video playback programs and, with the exception of Real Player, they all can play back this avi file I had just created with VS Pro X4. The Program GSpot finds no problems with the file.
Emails to Corel remain unanswered and telephone support held me waiting for hours, only to disconnect when it was their quitting time.

Apr 24, 2013I recently upgraded from a mac mini to a macbook pro retina using migration assistant and time machine backup. All went well, and since all my photos were on an external drive, no problems there. However, when I try to import new photos, I see the images, but then get a list of the .CR2 files and an error message of "unable to read files." This is a Sandisk Extreme 16 GB SD card, and it still successfully works on the old mac. Following a similar issue in the forum, I checked permissions, and those appear to all be correct. I'm running LR 4.4.

Dec 26, 2011I have come to find that there is a small segment in my project that says unable to read string and I have deleted the files in that area to see what was causing this error and it does not seem to be video or music in this area.
Because I move the playback marker to the opposite sides of this area and it seems to work fine but once I delete the files in this area and playback it does the same thing to the files that where on the other side of the files once there as the move in. AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Read SAT File
Jul 23, 2012I have a couple of SAT files exported by my colleague. He is only familiar with and only works in AutoCAD 2008.
All I'm trying to do is convert them to IGES for our customer, but I can't even open them. I get the message "Unable to Read SAT File" in Inventor. I tried Fusion as well, it just crashes out after working for a few seconds. When I try to open the original dwg in AutoCAD 2013 I get a message that the file is corrupted and to run recovery on it. I tried doing so, but then the dwg comes in with no model geometry.
How to open these files or any other workflow? We're going to have serious issues down the road if we can't move data between AutoCAD and Inventor.

Using the media hub I am able to view the exr file and can work with them as long as I don´t cache them. As soon as I cache them they are black and I get the message "unable to read media"
Is this some known bug? Backburner works perfectly (after tweaking some things with Mikes great tutorial), I can cache other files but not these exrs.

Nov 12, 2013I have scanned something in OS X Mavericks (10.9.0) using my Canon PIXMA MP280 and am attempting to add it to my main Lightroom catalog (LR 5.2) but am having issues. I have tried the following formats with the noted results:
.TIFF - Lightroom throws error "The file appears to be unsupported or damaged. (1)" .JPG - Lightroom does not show the file in the import dialog, thus does not even attempt to import it. .PNG - Imports ok.
The .TIFF and .JPG formats seem compeltely intact as they open without any issues in OS X Preview and Pixelmator.

Feb 2, 2013I am a Canon shooter and a seasoned Lightroom user. About a month ago my Mac stopped allowing me to import images from my CF card into Lightroom. I have worked with Mac and Adobe to no avail. At this point I know that my Mac can see the card and will me allow me to download images into iPhoto. It will generate thumbnails in Lightroom, but will tell me that it's unable to read the images when I try a complete import. If I switch users on my Mac to a dummy user, I am able to import the same images off my CF card. I didn't changed any settings, at least not intentionally.
