Jun 4, 2013Since I installed Photoshop CS6 on my Mac OS 10.8, I haven't been able to successfully install an update. Every time I get the error U44M1P6, which tells me to try installing the update manually. Which I do, and I get the same result.

I have been asked if I've changed anything in Photoshop's folder or something similar, and I haven't done anything to it besides installing one extension using Extension Manager, and keeping Photoshop's icon on my dock.

 I'm sure this is because it was purchased in 2009 and whatever e mail was sent to me with the serial number is now lost to history.

May 18, 2009I just tried to install updates for ACR 5.3 and PSCS 11.0.1.They downloaded ok, but all the updates failed to install. I tried this from Bridge and also from PS, same results.I'm on XP Pro, Quad Core, 250G C-drive, 500G storage and scratch drive, 4GB memory on board.Is there a problem with Adobe or my computer?

But the adobe bridge which is present with in photoshop, "Help"->"update" option is not greyed out and thows error "unable to update, you do not have internet connection or you are not an system administrator". Same is the case with AAMEE configuration. But if I delete this preference file, then I can launch it. Here my requirement is to grey our the update option both in photoshop and bridge as this will be deployed enterprise wide.

I have found a solution on the forum- Download and install the updates manually. Go to [URL]...updates and download the update that you are trying to install.There is no update available there which refers to Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update

I opened the Adobe Application Manager and run it for updates, it reports I'm good - no updates! But when I then try for an update from within Photoshop I still get the same message telling me I need to instal ExtensionManager 6.0.6 UpdateI have tried to find the error log from within my system - but failed misserably (I am on Windows 7-64)

Bridge CS6 has problems updating the previews of images that get edited.While creating preview from scratch is rather swift, updating previews takes about six minutes on a MacBook Pro retina with 16Gb RAM.After one minute the preview gets updated, but then the busy signal in the low left corner just keeps turning and turning for five more minutes.Why is this happening? Is Bridge still busy with those previews? Why? The preview has already been updated, why those extra five minutes of business?

2. Image deleting is painfully slow.
You type Command + Delete, and nothing is happening for five, six seconds.Only then the images get deleted. Has noticed these two hold-ups?
I just went back after writing and editing this post, and Bridge is still busy with the preview update. This is now 15 minutes after the image had been edited. The busy signal in the lower left corner just never turns off again.

It feels like Bridge has also problems working in the background. As soon as you open e.g. a browser to bridge the waiting for bridge, Bridge seems to keep the busy signal rotating, but not actually doing anything until you close the browser again. Which is why I just had a 15 minute wait for an image preview to finally update. The time spent in the browser did not "count".

I would like to install the primary on the Windows desktop and the additional on MacBook. Am I allowed to install primary on Windows machine and secondary on Mac machine as per EULA? I am the only user.

if it is allowed as per license since I have heard that multi platform is not allowed but I couldn't see anywhere in the EULA forbidding this.
Photoshop :: CS5 Unable To Get Updates
Feb 11, 2013old computer crashed. Loaded CS5 onto new computer but unable to get updates! I need to get camera raw! The tech support person told me to uninstall and reinstall and that would resolve the issue- well, it did not and I do not have another few hours to wait on hold- any thoughts? I was able to have it deactivated from my old computer.

Oct 11, 2012I recently installed Creative Suite CS6 Design & Web Premium. I had previously installed the CS5 version and had not un-installed it. Everything except Acrobat appeared to install correctly. When I opened Photoshop CS6 (64-bit) I noticed that it used the CS5 version Bridge.
I went into Bridge and unchecked the open at start box, closed Bridge and Photoshop and re-opened Photoshop CS6 (64-bit). When I tried to lunch Bridge from Photoshop the following message appeared in the Desktop> panel : Waiting for Bridge CS6..." Bridge CS6 did not appear despite waiting for several minutes.
I then pressed the Start button and went into the Programs listing. Under the Adobe CS6 group I found all of the applications (other than Acrobat) but Bridge CS6 (64-bit), Bridge CS6, and Media Encoder each had generic icons rather than the expected relevant Adobe icons. I tried to load each of the three by clicking on the icon. In each instance the following message appeared:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

My system is a Gateway FX6802. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium version 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1, Build 7601.The system has 9 GB of memory. I ran CS5 on the system and did not experience any difficulty with Bridge.

May 2, 2009I installed the whole stuff and wanted to make an update of the whole suite including photoshop, fireworks and so on. I hoped, there would exist a kind of auto update functionality as in microsoft products e.g. But I can not find a menu item for that e.g. in photoshop. So, does it not exist? Do I have to search for updates for every single product and install every single update file? My suite is a german version, so that I would also have to care for not installing any wrong packages for this language version -I would not like to destroy my installation by using wrong update packages. To your experience, how often do you look for updates?

However, Adobe Application Manager keeps stating there is an update for CS6 - namely 'Photoshop 13.1.2 for Creative Cloud' I've tried to update but each time the update fails with error message:

And why the mention of Creative Cloud - is this update only for CC versions of Photoshop?

Oddly, My CS6 which was standard edition has at some time since I joined CC upgraded itself to CS6 Extended - or is that a perk of CC.

why the update is failing & what I can do? CS6 seems to be working OK, so can I just ignore the update - would that prevent any future updates working or would any future updates supercede this one?

I chucked away just the main PS CS3 Beta app but it still refused - now I have tried three different Uninstall apps from VersionTracker to kill all the components off, but I think they are not working properly as the main app is no longer present.
It's a bit of a difficult one - and I need that PS CS3 on my laptop...

Dec 1, 2008I have partitioned my hard drives in order to make back ups easier and manage media easier.
However, my Vista Ultimate Partition is only 10GB and for this reason will not allow me to install CS4.
Even when I select D: for the installation.
I have 1GB free on C: and 60GB free on the D:
So why will Adobe not let me install on D: directly?
I think this is well just stupid that users are been forced to save this onto the same drive as your OS, I don't like to have any software installed on the same partition for security/virus/management purposes and so really need an alternative to install this, otherwise I will be forced to re-install my entire PC.
I will need to back up each of my partitions, then merge them then format, then re-install and then copy the back ups across.
Of course loosing most of my personal settings and modifications to Vista.

So, these are the issues.  Just one of the folders that previously would show thumbnails now only shows DNG icons, and none will open in Photoshop to let me work on previous image.   Issue #2 - can't download images with Photo Downloaders - both my wife's Canon G9 only shows CR2 icons, and my Nikon D300 only shows NEF icons - neither of these issues had appeared before or been an issue. Third issue. None of my Bridge folders - even those with regular thumbnail immages- will open now - get a message that says words to the effect of Photoshop doesn't recognize this type of file. Computer is a Mac, with OS 10.5.8

I recently tried to make more room on HD, so must have taken some critical files/commands out by accident. I'm sure that in trying to correct things have made things even worse- as may be noticed by the two snapshots I've attached. The first is one from a library from my user section. The second library image is from my hard drive. Hopefully you and others aren't laughing or crying too much over what you see - redundantcy, etc! All of my energies have focused on taking photos, obviously none to proper setup/use of organizing things on my Mac. I am most anxious to getting back to working with and saving images.

Sep 22, 2013I can not open CR2 file in CS4 or Bridge. The CR2 images show in the preview window when I click the "open" button under "file". When I select the image to open I get "Unable to complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I have uninstalled and re-installed the software, installed all the updates and get the same results.
