Photoshop :: How To Get Abode Bridge To Not Save As DW File
Oct 14, 2013
Every time I make minor adjustments to a photo in Camera Raw within Adobe Bridge, it saves the edits in a DW (Dreamweaver) file next to that photograph. I have not changed any settings recently and don't know why it would start doing that all of a sudden.
When I delete that DW file, all of the edits to that photo disappear and it reverts back to the original. Every time I click on the DW file, it takes me to Dreamweaver and opens a window with a whole bunch of code. How can I go back to having everything I do in Camera Raw save to/into the photo itself?
Using bridge to organize 150 images. Does it save an image order? I clicked the build and export cache option last night before leaving it, but this am it's reverted back to the order it wants to be in, which is the order it is in finder.
I created an action that works great, but when I batch automate from Bridge, the action gets stuck on the last steps - save. I get the JPG Options box and have to manually click yes to save. From Bridge, I got to Photoshop > Batch and I've tried different combinations of Destination and Save As. I want to save to the same file name.
Make a collage of me and my friends faces with a striking background like a lightning strike or somthing. So I got the relevant images into one folder but I have two problems.
1) Don't know how to cut stuff
2) How would I get said cut image into the main picture
I just upgraded to the Creative Cloud on my PC, downloaded PS CS6 - Bridge and Camera Raw. I'm configuring and working with CR2 files, no problem, however, Bridge will not let me delete, rename or update the metadata of my jpgs.
I upgraded CS5 Design Premium to CS6 Design & Web Premium. Most of my preferences (layout, etc) were imported correctly from CS5. When I right-click (PC, Windows 7) on the Bridge CS6 thumbnail, and click on 'Open with ', there was a collection of Microsoft programs (COM Surrogate 6.1, Microsoft PowerPoint 12.0, Publisher 12.0, Windows Live Photo Gallery 15.4), and no Photoshop (Default). When I used the WIndows file-associations program, and Photoshop CS6 was associated with *.psd files, then it appeared in the 'Open with ...' menu as Photoshop (Default). However, the other Microsoft programs are still present. How do I get rid of these and add the relevant Adobe programs (Ai, Id, Dw, etc),
I'm unable to view RAW/CR 2 image files shot with a Canon 5D Mkii in Bridge. I have no problem with CR 2 files from other cameras just this new one. I can view them on Canon's Browser, so I know the info's there, but I need ot work in Bridge and PS2. Is there a RAW upgrade for Bridge?
I was working on three images in Photoshop CS3, when I went to open them from Bridge for review, two of three files were reduced to tiny white squares with a dogear in the top right corner, a little blue bounding box containing three tinier red green and blue somethings so small I couldn't even see what they were with my jewellery spec.
Nothing happened when I clicked on them, no error message, nothing. I managed to get one of them in 'reveal' - which opened up a larger blue bounded box with the red button containing a cross with the message 'cannot open as not right kind of file'.
URL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.  I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)
I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.
From the start, I wasn't able to save to jpeg without getting a dcm extension (no jpg extension). However, if I saved to Multi-picture Format, I would get the familiar .jpg and everything worked fine for a while. This morning I cannot find a file format in "save as" that results in the .jpg file extension.
I thought Bridge was a photo management utility. I can't even change a photo file name. Is there a way to do it, or what kind of photo management utility is this?
I use my photoshop daily and have about 50000 images on my computer so very much need the bridge to be able to view them all and select the ones I want. for the past few days I have been getting "photoshop has encountered an error and needs to close" every time I try to open a file through bridge, quite often I also get the same error message on the bridge as well a few seconds later. Â I have tried reinstalling photoshop, I even tried deleting all the presets which I have added over the years and trying it straight from the reinstall, it still does the same,
I used to able to double click on an image in bridge and it would come up in ps. It doesnt do anything now. I have cs3 and bridge and i havent changed anything...
i noticed it said that Com surrogate 6.0 was default...
For some unknown reason...CS2 has started placing "Adobe Bridge Cache" file shortcuts on my desktop. When I click on one, I receive a Win XP error message that says the file .bc is unkown and can't be opened.
These shortcuts have never appeared before. Now the simple act of opening Bridge and looking at jpeg files seems to initiate it.
Questions: Why is PS doing this? Do I need to pay attention to it? If not, how do I stop PS from cluttering up my desktop.
[CS6 Extended]I want to click with the mouse on a symbol (normally it should be I disk symbol I think) to save mychanges instead of use of File->Save or Ctrl+S. Â But the problem: I can't find a disk/save symbol in Photoshop andalso don't know how can I get it.On "Window" menu I can't get a word "Save" to checkmark it.How can I get a "Save" symbol in Photoshop CS6 Extended?
Trying to open a DNG or a NEF file causes ACR to lock completely. The only way to quit is to Force Quit. I am a MAC user, Mavericks, long time PSCC user. This problem just occurred. It is not a plug-in conflict.
I have a vector shape (which is simply four rounded rectangles) that I have converted to a 3D object, now you can see I've angled the flat plane so it's a little oblique, but what I want to do now is map the 'face' of the extruded shape so instead of lying on a flat plane, the plane itself is warped like a sphere. Â Imagine taking these 'chicklets' and pressing them onto a bowling ball instead of lying on a flat table. Is there any way to do that in CS6 or am I going to have to do this in another 3D application?
Is there a way I can edit the registry so that in Adobe Bridge, under edit, preferences, file type associations, the jpg extension is forced to use the 32-bit version of Photoshop? I can do it manually, but is there a registry key i can export to apply it to multiple computers?
I have a number of PSD files I've created and I'm trying to save them as PDFs. I can Save for Web and Devices, I can save as a .gif, .eps., and every other format I've tested, but I cannot save as a PDF. I get the error:  "Could not save a copy as (filename) because the file is already in use or was left open by another application."  I'm running Adobe Master Collection CS5 with Photoshop CS 5.5 (12.0.4 x64) on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. I have a 928 GB HD with 697 GB free.  I have rebooted and tried saving the files immediately after I reboot. I have killed my virus scanner. I have killed a number of other possible culprits including Acrotray.exe and CS5ServiceManager.ext  I have run Process Explorer as recommended by Microsoft and found no applications using the file. I've also tried saving the file to my external hard drive and/or renaming the file with only rare luck.  The boards seem to suggest Adobe isn't taking responsibility for this and pointing it back to the OS or other software. How/where to kill whatever process it is - but at this point, all my indicators point back to Photoshop.
purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop. Â While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash... Â In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
I batch renamed a bunch of photos in adobe bridge and renamed them as SaraJ._01 etc. and they were saved as a strange file type that I can no longer open?? Document type just says _35 or whatever number the file is. They are just white files no thumbnail preview nothing...
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.
