I'm on a Mac, OS X 10.8, CS6. Some random accidental keystroke caused the Typography adjustments (on the right bar) to disappear.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem very obvious about how to get those back. Now it's a blank square with no options listed. How to get this back?

The "Organizer" menu bar which shows forward/back buttons, Search function, Organize, Fix, Create, Share functions etc. has suddenly disappeared. The program has been working fine for 3 years. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it but it did not fix the problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was working in Arch 2011, it crashed. When I opened it back up and clicked on the Big A to try and open the file back up, nothing happens! It looks like the program is active, if I don't try to navigate to a file everything seems to work.
Also, I can navigate to the file using Windows and 'Open With' which also works and the program opens the file and seems fine. I really need the navigation menu back though.
I have lost the cataloge icon in lightroom 4 menu. How can I resort?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy system crashed and it apparetnly effected AutoCAD 2006 LT. All my toolbars disappeared, etc. I now have it all back the way it was except for my right-click menu is all mess up.
Regardless if an object is selected or not, the Snap Menu appears, instead of the one I was used to (that included Erase, Move, Copy Selection, Scale etc. ). How can I get that back?
My decor filter has disappeared from the filters menu. Was using it yesterday, no problem. Today, it's just gone. I have uninstalled Gimp and reinstalled it several times and that does not work.
The version I am using is 2.8.4 and I have a PC with Windows 7. I have been using the program for the last two months with no problems and the more I use the more I like it.
Just to add the issue, I installed Gimp 2.8.4 on my wife's computer, and the filter is there.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can see myself getting progressively better and better at graphics. I'm starting to "THINK IN LAYERS", and using advanced photo editing effects in order to achieve what I'm lookin for.
My problem as of late is that, as SOON as I add text to images, it seems to ruin them. It could be the placement, font face, kerning, alignment, or just the fact that it's not sharp or smooth enough, depending on the size. Does anyone have tips for using fonts/text on an image. Have you found ways to get professional quality text, aside from the artistic aspect of it?
How do you choose fonts to go with various images? Do you just cycle through the ones you got until you find what looks right? Or for certain things do you generally use a set of fonts, like this font that font and another font to use usually when making an ad (or go more specifically? and go for ceratin fonts when the subject matter is cars, as opposed to nature, as opposed to computers, as opposed to people etc.). Are there guides to choosing fonts that I just can't find? General fonts used with fantasy artwork, general fonts used with sci-fi artwork, fonts used with something else more broad or more specific?
And how would a knowledge of typography help exactly with choosing fonts, or would it help?
I'm just asking this out of pure curiosity, sort of... And the fact that I'm not too fond of trying to pick out fonts for an image/sig/something by having to cycle through all of the fonts that I have. I'm just wonderin' if, when I'm working on something more on the fantasy side, a certain group of fonts generally look better, or when with something else, another set of fonts generally look better.
First I was working in the white background when I did brush strokes to the typography.But i don't realize until I saved it for the png format that I was applying the brush strokes other than needed. Here the snapshot of the work.
Remove the white strokes from the blue background without deleting from that black letter!
I am loosing way too much quality when exporting to PNG or "saving for Web" using either AI or PS.best way to create a simple typography Logo and save it in a high quality for web.
I understand there might be some loss of quality doing it the way I am currently, but it is so bad it looks awful on a retina screen (i-phone).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have used pretty much all the Illustrator versions from CS2 onward, mainly for typographic work. In the new version I've been using – Illustrator CS6 on Windows 7 – the typography panels are behaving differently from previous versions and it is extremely frustrating!
Character Panel - On previous versions you can click on the font menu in the Character Panel and you get a list with previews, then you can search by scrolling with the mouse wheel or by typing in the name of a font. But in CS6 the mouse wheel doesn't work, you have to click on arrow buttons or move the mouse to the top/bottom of the list to scroll (and it scrolls very slowly!). When you try to type to search, it only lets you type the first letter, not the full font name. So if you're looking for Museo for example, you can only type 'M' then you still have to scroll through all the M's until you find it, if you type 'M' then 'U' (as I would do normally) you are taken to 'U' in the list.Character Context Menu - I use the context menu (the one that lives at the top of the screen) a lot. Again on previous versions it was really quick to click the drop down and just start typing the first few letters in the font name until you see the one you're looking for. In CS6 you can only do a type search when the drop down menu is closed, when you open the drop down, type to search no longer works!
How can I flatten the typography so that the top of i aligns with the top of the pad? See attached.
I tried to add the points by editing the topo surface but it kept giving me an error message saying the points are outside the lines?
A co-worker scanned a photo and emailed it to me to edit it and try to improve it, but everything I want to do is grayed out so I can't select it and I can't figure out why. Maybe it has to do with how she scanned it?
It's CMYK, 300 dpi, and 8 bit.
I'd like to sharpen it and adjust the hue/saturation, but they're grayed out.
why this is happening and how I can work around this so I can make the changes I need to make?
When selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.

Except when I close and restart ACAD the menu bar express menu disappears. I can bring it back by using cuiload but this is not ideal. Any way to get it to stick?

How do I add custom menu items to the main menu in Illustrator?
I would like to build my own menu with scripts that I use alot. This is a powerful feature that I use alot in other programs, but I have not seen any examples of this in illustrator.
all the twirly triangle dropdown menu things (what's the official term?) underneath the contents menu of layers. Especially now that I'm working with Convert to Shape Layer functionality I'm wondering what an efficient/shortcut based way to work with these inner menus is. For instance when converting Text to Shape layers - it seems like I'm spending most of my time dealing with twirly triangle management

Using VS X5 - Just making up a menu for my dvd im burning. Haven made a menu since using ..VS11+ I think it was.
All seems very very familar...similar etc and not asking it to do anything out of the ordinary which 11+ couldnt cope with ( just nowadays using all this AVCHD malaky etc )
Question -Main menu of my dvd - Why am I getting on my main menu page the begininings of my movie!!! I have my main menu setup ( bringing in a pre-made 30second clip on which I will put 'Press Play to watch movie' and/or 'chapter select'. ) When i preview my main menu page...I see the 30second clip i wanted but as it runs so too does my actual movie - at the same time.
I cant seem to find a button to ..basically..tell it not to play the movie as soon as you load the dvd but instead to wait until the 30 second main menu runs and automatically reruns etc until YOU decide to press the 'Play movie' button.
I intended to add more option at right click shortcut menu. Is it possible to be done?

I've recently been dealing with problems related to the startup Reading Preferences in which I deleted/hid/moved preference files to solve the long lagtime it took to startup. Problem solved but was unrelated to the Preferences files.
Now it seems I've lost ACR. Whenever I've tried to open Olympus Raw files (OCR) either in Bridge or Photoshop (CS2) I get a window saying "could not complete your request as it is the wrong kind of document" ! The OCR thumbnails still show up in Bridge and PS so it's not like the raw files have lost the ACR association. And I see the ACR plugin is still in the Files folder (C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobePlug-InsCS2File Formats)
I am using Photoshop CS5.1 on a Mac. When launching Photoshop from Lightroom, I got an unexpected error (don't recall now what it said). my custom workspace and all of my actions (default and user-defined) are gone. I utilize these actions heavily in my workflow and need them back ASAP. I have a good backup system, but when I click Load Actions from the Actions Palette, the default location

Photoshop CS5.1 Settings file still has an Actions Palette.psp file in it. I have shut down and rebooted many times without success. What I can do to get these actions back? I'm hoping it’s a matter of pointing Photoshop back to my preferences some how. I don't have to recreate all of my custom actions from scratch.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the saving as options for jpeg, pdf, and a ton of other options have disappeared from my Photoshop CS 5.1 (both for 64-bit and 32-bit). They used to be there. I have run updates and even uninstalled and reinstalled the program and still they are gone. I have to open projects in other programs in order to convert them. I can't work like this. where I can get the file or whatever it is that has disappeared in order to get this working again?

This is only a recent problem with three of the many directories of image files. Preferences are all set the same, and the files show up in explorer. None of the attributes are set to "hidden"?
