View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently been dealing with problems related to the startup Reading Preferences in which I deleted/hid/moved preference files to solve the long lagtime it took to startup. Problem solved but was unrelated to the Preferences files.
Now it seems I've lost ACR. Whenever I've tried to open Olympus Raw files (OCR) either in Bridge or Photoshop (CS2) I get a window saying "could not complete your request as it is the wrong kind of document" ! The OCR thumbnails still show up in Bridge and PS so it's not like the raw files have lost the ACR association. And I see the ACR plugin is still in the Files folder (C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobePlug-InsCS2File Formats)

Actions folder is empty (and backup files of this folder are empty long before I had this problem). Interestingly, my

Photoshop CS5.1 Settings file still has an Actions Palette.psp file in it. I have shut down and rebooted many times without success. What I can do to get these actions back? I'm hoping it’s a matter of pointing Photoshop back to my preferences some how. I don't have to recreate all of my custom actions from scratch.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the saving as options for jpeg, pdf, and a ton of other options have disappeared from my Photoshop CS 5.1 (both for 64-bit and 32-bit). They used to be there. I have run updates and even uninstalled and reinstalled the program and still they are gone. I have to open projects in other programs in order to convert them. I can't work like this. where I can get the file or whatever it is that has disappeared in order to get this working again?

This is only a recent problem with three of the many directories of image files. Preferences are all set the same, and the files show up in explorer. None of the attributes are set to "hidden"?

I had it working ok a few days ago and now I can't use my scanner because that Twaine software that CS2 uses to import from the scanner etc. has disappeared.
I've tried to find a place to download it but I'm not having any luck, you'd think that Adobe would include it with the CD but they didn't .

I navigated to my Photoshop CS4 installation into Presets>Brushes thinking to Copy and Paste them into my PS6 installation, and don't see them there. Have looked both in 64 bit and 32 bit program area (I'm running Windows 7 64 bit system), and can't find all those brush presets anywhere.

Have tried searching for .abr files from the start menu but that's not pulling anything up (not even the ones installed with CS6 so not sure how to use that search properly or if it can't search by document type).

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason brush preview has disappeared and I cannot find a way to show it again. In the Show Extras menu it is checked, but it is nowhere in the UI. I remember moving it from top left to bottom left and slightly decreasing the window size, but now its gone for good. In 3D mode the secondary view window is up there just fine.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI just finished working on a file for a client and saved it to the compressed zip folder that it was sent to me without decompressing.
Photoshop seemed to save to the folder without problems but when I went to go to open it again, my work was gone and all that was there was the original file. Did PS save my work someplace else and not tell me, or was it not saving at all despite not giving me any permissions errors?
I'm on a Mac, OS X 10.8, CS6.  Some random accidental keystroke caused the Typography adjustments (on the right bar) to disappear. Â
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem very obvious about how to get those back.  Now it's a blank square with no options listed.  How to get this back?
The custom pattens I have saved with my brushes just disappeared, I tried reloading my brushes and that didn't do anything, I opened the pattern and redefined it, as long as I have it selected as the texture I want to use it's fine but as soon as I choose another texture and then go back to a different brush with a different pattern saved to it, the other ( not the one saved to the brush) texture shows up in the brush.
I have saved my brushes and have kept them on a flash drive with the pattens saved to them, they work on my classroom computers and have for years everywhere I have used them. This just happened this week and I can't seem to fix it. I updated my PS6 and it worked for a day but when I restarted PS it did the same thing.
I was on CS6 and my layouts got all messed up so i resetted the workspace, only to find my actions pallette gone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with Bridge CS3 that has developed on my work computer. When viewing Bridge, normally under the Tools dropdown bar there is a heading called 'Photoshop Tools' which then allows you to batch and run other similar scripts.
However that option has disappeared.
I checked the Bridge preferences but I don't see any option that was accidentally turned off.

I've upgraded from Photoshop CS to CS3 (been a user since ver 4) ... but I noticed that the Gradient Editor has disappeared. Well, I can open it up, but there's nowhere to edit the colour stops! It was DEFINITELY there and usable in version CS, but when I opened the same file in CS (which is still installed on the pc), the Gradient Editor has also now lost the colour stop editor! I've tried looking for it in the palettes, looked for it in the Windows and View dropdown menus, double-clicked the Gradient button in the Toolbox, clicked on everything from the Gradient Toolbar, clicked on the top righthand arrow, clicked on the gradient swatches, but a big fat zip naadaa! Anyone ever experienced anything like this before? I'm wondering if I'd be better off just uninstalling and reinstalling everything and making sure I then also un-install the older version to make sure there aren't any conflicts, but I actually PREFER to keep CS available, just in case there are any problems in CS3 - such as this one.
