View 5 RepliesI am using Photoshop CS5.1 on a Mac. When launching Photoshop from Lightroom, I got an unexpected error (don't recall now what it said). my custom workspace and all of my actions (default and user-defined) are gone. I utilize these actions heavily in my workflow and need them back ASAP. I have a good backup system, but when I click Load Actions from the Actions Palette, the default location
[UserName]>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CS5.1>Presets>
Actions folder is empty (and backup files of this folder are empty long before I had this problem). Interestingly, my
[UserName]>Library>Preferences>Adobe
Photoshop CS5.1 Settings file still has an Actions Palette.psp file in it. I have shut down and rebooted many times without success. What I can do to get these actions back? I'm hoping it’s a matter of pointing Photoshop back to my preferences some how. I don't have to recreate all of my custom actions from scratch.
Previously recorded actions did not come up on Photoshop startup. Can they be retrieved?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy user made cs5.1 actions have disappeared after an error message came up as PS was opening. None of the factory or user actions are there, and they were unsaved. Are they retrievable?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working in PSE8. All the actions I've purchased (from Florabella, etc.) have disappeared from the Effect pallet on the right hand side of my screen. I've checked to make sure that they are all still installed
(C>ProgramData>Adobe>PhotoshopElements>8.0>PhotoCreations>PhotoEffect s)
and they are all there (ATN, JPG, PTN and Safari document versions). Why can't I see them in Effects anymore? How can I use them in PSE? I didn't make any changes. I've tried resetting everything, restarting numerous times.Â
My Actions have disappeard from my effects pallet.
Â
I woke my computer up and it was 'shutting down' so apparently it was installing stuff. When I opened PSE my effects pallet was back to 'default mode'. I went into the 'photo creations' in my computer and they are all still in there but just not showing up in the effects panel. I have deleted the thumb data, and the media data all to no avail. Restarted my computer several times... NOTHING.
I recently upgraded from CS5 to CS6. The CS5 license was on a PC, the CS6 license is on my new Mac.
Â
I have access to my old PC still, but I have not been able to figure out how to transfer my Actions or my Camera Raw presets (.XMP files) to the Mac. I need access to these Actions asap and am not able to recreate them.
I started up PS 7.0 today and low and behold I cannot access my Actions Palette Menu. The arrow at the right border depresses, but the menu does not appear ....
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Actions Palette has several Insert options (Menu Item, Stop, Path) but not "Insert Conditionals" option. How do I activate the latter option which I thought came built in?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded an action (*.ATN) file from a trusted source and saved it in the Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets/Actions folder. When I explore this folder via windows it shows the action I saved plus the default actions that came with Photoshop. When I click on "load actions" from the actions pallete I get a message that says the same folder is empty. Under file type it is looking for the correct file type (*.ATN).

I occasionally turn the properties palette on/off. Now I cannot get it to appear at all.
I seem to be missing all of the control button icons in my Actions Palette. Can anyone tell me how to restore them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy materials palette has virtually disappeared! It's all black . .. no colors, no gradients, no patterns ... just black.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to hide the properties palette and now it disappered. I type properties in the command line and right click on an object and select properties and nothing. No palette. What do I need to do to get the palette back?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just exported some pictures for the web from Lightroom 5 which had to be downsized considerably. I now find that the sharpening and noise reduction palette has disappeared entirely from the right hand tools panel. What's going on? I've tried quitting and re-opening Lightroom and also shutting down and restarting my computer. (Macbook Pro retina and Mountain Lion)
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS2 on a Mac and I'm in the actions palette trying to run various actions on things like text or images.
It seems like I'm not doing something right.
At least half of the actions will not complete, whether they are actions downloaded from a website or not. The actions are both Mac and PC compatible but I think they are supposed to be by their very nature..
Anyway, I never modified them.
I get a message, sometimes two or three in just one play of an action, saying "The command '_____' ("make", for example) is "not available."
As a result of this problem, I have countless actions that do not complete! If I let it play to the end, and they DO complete without stopping, the intended result of the action does not execute because of the step(s) that got left out.
Is there any way to make the "unavailable" steps available?:O
I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to put my actions somewhere special on my hardrive, not in apps folder.
Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
Is it possible to add the Properties Palette to a custom made palette set in .NET? And how to do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, the tool palette I usually use is not accessible. I opened a drawing that a co-worker was using and my tool palette now looks like an old version - it doesn't have any of my custom tools in it. How do I get back my tool palette??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've only ever used gimp sparingly and for simple stuff. I now need to set the palette of a 8-bit png to a specified palette, but I can't find any in gimp or online about how to load a palette. I need the palette to contain colors that may not be in the image if thats possible as these images are sprites of under 40 colors, but I need a full 256 color palette. Also is there any simple way to convert a string of numbers into a gimp palette? If not Ill probably just look at how they are saved and just write a simple script, but I thought i would ask.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently been dealing with problems related to the startup Reading Preferences in which I deleted/hid/moved preference files to solve the long lagtime it took to startup. Problem solved but was unrelated to the Preferences files.
Now it seems I've lost ACR. Whenever I've tried to open Olympus Raw files (OCR) either in Bridge or Photoshop (CS2) I get a window saying "could not complete your request as it is the wrong kind of document" ! The OCR thumbnails still show up in Bridge and PS so it's not like the raw files have lost the ACR association. And I see the ACR plugin is still in the Files folder (C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobePlug-InsCS2File Formats)
The Menu Bar in PS CS6 has disappeared It's impossible to do any work without it. how to get it back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, out of the blue, the saving as options for jpeg, pdf, and a ton of other options have disappeared from my Photoshop CS 5.1 (both for 64-bit and 32-bit). They used to be there. I have run updates and even uninstalled and reinstalled the program and still they are gone. I have to open projects in other programs in order to convert them. I can't work like this. where I can get the file or whatever it is that has disappeared in order to get this working again?
View 4 Replies View Relatedfrom several directories in cs3 bridge. the files are still there, and can be opened randomly, by simply clicking on the blank bridge screen. This is only a recent problem with three of the many directories of image files. Preferences are all set the same, and the files show up in explorer. None of the attributes are set to "hidden"?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from Photoshop 3 and had everything installed, then my mother was hospitalized for several weeks. I was unable to access my computer for weeks during that time and now I find that Photoshop 4 has completely disappeared from my computer. What the heck is up with that? It was never inadvertently deleted,
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I click in the preview panel, the arrow does not change to a + and I an not able to get a loupe.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy toolbox has completely disappeared, and i have no idea how to get it back. This is on Photoshop 5.0, i'm currently using CS2 but it would still be useful to be able to use 5.0 aswell. And before you ask, clicking Windows > Show/Hide Tools doesn't work, and as far as i'm aware it's not off screen.
