May 4, 2013Following a Backup and Restore process to move from PSE 11 on Windows 7 to PSE 11 on Mac (Mt. Lion) I have broken links. Other catalog info is intact (file name, captions, tags, etc.). I moved 6 catalogs...only 1 was successful.

 Background: I started with PSE 10 on Windows 7...installed PSE 11 and converted all catalogs successfully. Used File, Back Up (Full) process with an external drive to move the files and catalogs to PSE 11 on the Mac (10.8) using File, Restore Catalogs. I suspect that the issue may be in the portion of the Restore process that allows the choice between Original Location or New Location...seems like I tried both. The Adobe instructions in the PSE 11 offered step-by-step instructions but didn't elaborate much on the Location issue. I tried File, Reconnect, Reconnect All Files without success.

Nov 24, 2012I subcontract a lot of event work. I'm still using an older MBP which is 32bit so I can't upgrade to LR4 yet which requires a 64bit processor.

The studio that contracts me is running LR4 and they don't seem to think that the develop settings I make in LR3.5 are transferring to LR4. Is this possible?
I'm thinking an easy work-around would be to export all the files as DNGs? This would automatically include all changes that I make wouldn't it?

This is about a week's worth of work that I will have to replicate manually to C3d 2012. I cannot believe that the 2 versions are this completely incompatable.

I want to transfer just the settings and rates, nothing else, i already have the photos, sometimes with many photos rated and developed.

In my opinion I'm ok with whatever OS we use but I don't know much about MAC Computers. 1) Are there any issues that you've seen when running Boot Camp or Parallels and which do you think is user friendly.Â

Second question. If I also happen to apply a Preset during Import that has some of the same Develops as my Default Settings, like Lens Corrections or Sharpening, what will happen? Will the effects be cumlative/additive/doubled or will LR only apply the effect once?
