AutoCAD Inventor :: Transfer Files From MAC To Windows PC
May 2, 2011
I've been doing some research on new computers for the office and my boss came to me about potentially switching from Windows OS to Mac OS. In my opinion I'm ok with whatever OS we use but I don't know much about MAC Computers. I have done some research on them and have read of customers using Inventor 2012 on Macs but that’s the extent of it.Â
1) Are there any issues that you've seen when running Boot Camp or Parallels and which do you think is user friendly.Â
2) How well are you able to transfer files from a MAC PC to a Windows PC then vise versa? (Taking work home etc.)
3) Have you had any problems transferring your library of information from Vault over to a Mac? (Checking in and out of Vault)
4) Our company use's DXF's made from Flat patterns that we transfer over to a Salvagnini machines that use's windows.
Our Cad person recently switched from a dying windows machine to an iMac. Â I know you can do the liscene transfer (the windows pc is being put down) however I can't find anyway to get the LT 2012 Mac download. (The disc is a windows only) Â I thought about just getting the trial but only 2013 is offered and we don't plan on updating as of yet.
I click the Inventor icon on the desktop to open Inventor, I click the Vault tab and then click "Go to Vault", the vault opens. I open a file to look/modify it. I then click another file to open it also and it opens in a new Inventor window. The same as windows explorer does when you open another web page and it opens in a new window instead of a new tab if you dont have the "Tabbed Browsing: set in options.
I am trying CS3 with Windows 7. Where would I put the "Adobe" settings folder that I copied from XP? XP=(C:Documents and SettingsuserApplication DataAdobe)
I have many JPGs on a Macbook Pro that work find with PSElements 6. When I try to transfer them to my new Windows 8 computer with recenly purchased PSElements 11 the program rejects them. How do I transfer them?
I have approx 4000 tagged and organised photos on a windows version of Elements 7 and wish to transfer everything to the latest version of Elements on a new iMac. How do I best do this without losing any organisation of the photos and videos that I have already done?
Can I / How do I:Â Export a LR3 catalog from a windows 7 computer to a new iMac running LR5.Must retain the original file structure and all non-destructive edits and keywords.?
Can I transfer photos including the metadata and tags from Elements 4 (windows XP) to a Mac running the Maverick OS and Lightroom.  If so what is the best process.
how do we transfer the collections and tags from windows xp (adobe starter edition) to windows 8.1 (adobe photoshop elements 12)? There are close to 200 collections in ADOBE STARTER EDITION 3.2. It looks like elements 12 calls them albums.
Following a Backup and Restore process to move from PSE 11 on Windows 7 to PSE 11 on Mac (Mt. Lion) I have broken links. Other catalog info is intact (file name, captions, tags, etc.). I moved 6 catalogs...only 1 was successful.   Background: I started with PSE 10 on Windows 7...installed PSE 11 and converted all catalogs successfully. Used File, Back Up (Full) process with an external drive to move the files and catalogs to PSE 11 on the Mac (10.8) using File, Restore Catalogs. I suspect that the issue may be in the portion of the Restore process that allows the choice between Original Location or New Location...seems like I tried both. The Adobe instructions in the PSE 11 offered step-by-step instructions but didn't elaborate much on the Location issue. I tried File, Reconnect, Reconnect All Files without success.
I need to transfer my files from Aperture 2 to Lightroom 4 without losing the raw files. When I did it on my laptop they are now all Jpegs. I don't want this to happen on my desktop.
When I upgraded to Autocad (ACA) 2010 I migrated toolbars, etc. from ACA 2009. I am looking at getting a new computer and would like to know if I can just copy one of the CUIX files onto the new system and have everything work just as it does now. Is this possible, and which of the many CUIX files do I copy? Do I need to also copy the MNU, MNR and MNX files?
I’ve searched the CUIX files but can tell from the dates which are the newest.
I have 1000s of raw files on seperate hdr drives . I want to put some on to a DVD disk which i can the play on my TVs DVD. do they have to be converted to JPEG . what processes do i do ?
I bought a new computer and am trying to transfer my files from the old computer to the new one. I thought I had it done right, brought the photos into the new computer, and then started working away. I have now discovered, none of my .jpg photos brought over the changes made. For instance, if I go into the Develop mode, all controls are set to "0". I revisited the old computer, and they are not all set to "0" there. What have I done and how do I correct this? I'll never change computers again with Lightroom.
How to transfer a sub-assembly location to another sub-assembly location (Same orientation and location)?
I'm doing with equipments(Pressure vessels and heat exchanger). I would like make all nozzle location to be in 0 degree and 90 degrees angle if horizontal equipment and 90 degrees and 270 degrees angle if vertical equipment.
How can I know the XYZ axis on corresponding locations without having a reference to another nozzle?(If no nozzle in 0 degree and 90 degree angle of the equipment, so on and so forth).
My old PC's motherboard shot craps so I bought a new one to replace it. I have the old hard drive from my previous PC. I had Best Buy move the pictures from my old hard drive onto the new PC. I reinstalled Photoshop on my new PC. When I accessed the picture files, the pictures do not have the any of the markers I placed on them (face recognition, events, etc.). How do I recover this information.
They will not show up in PS. I run a Mac under Mavericks 10.9.1 with all the latest updates for ACR, LR and PSCC. Â MacBook Pro early 2011. Â Is it that the files are not supported yet?? In LR, the lens profile is recognized... (Fuji X100S)
