That's the message I'm getting when I try to use text tool.
"Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized."
I tried to reinstall Photoshop and still the same...
I can not make anything in 3D. I think in CS3 it doesnt work too. But in graphic programs like MAYA and 3DS MAX i can make 3D objects and others but in Photoshop not. In Photoshop CS 4 I opened new document, with brush i wrote "Hello" and clicked on menu "3D" but there is everything disable :-/. My graphic card is "Ati Mobility Radeon XPRESS 200 series.
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy keyboard short cut for ctrl+ a doesn't work, for some reason. All the other keyboard shortcuts work, except for that one (At least i think so..). I read through numerous threads about why keyboard short cuts do not work. 1. they are cracked copies of photoshop, 2. they are using logitech keyboards.
But I'm not using a cracked copy, and I just upgraded my logitech drivers to the newest ones.. and the problem just started yesterday without any reason. But when I change my short cut from ctrl a to.. something else, say alt+ctrl+a. it works.. but I prefer the old ctrl A.
Right click open with PS7 doesnt work. Every time i select it, it opens in windows picture viewer. But i can open it in illusttrator 4 some reason.

I've made sure the settings are okay ..
and the "tiny-square with flashing line" cursor is in place ...
BUT - when I type letters (or numbers) - nothing happens ..
However - if I type some text in Notepad - Ctrl+C it & then Ctrl+V it at the flashing cursor - it pastes - & I can edit ...
My keyboard seems okay - I'm typing this without any trouble ..
However - if I use an 'alt' keystroke - ie alt+184 I get © - so that bit 'appears' to be okay... BUT - if I then try deleting this © by using the "backspace" - it won't let me --- but - if I use the left arrow key & then hit delete - it's gone ...

My text tool is "stuck" on horzontal text tool in PSE10, and any attempt to change results in program crash. I cannot even "reset" all tools without triggering the fatal crash (it's telling me that "ATMLIB.dll" is not a valid Windows file).

I've got Win 7 and more then enough resources to run the software. Actually it ran just fine until recently. Is ATMLIB possibly pointing to a font issue?

I've reloaded the software from scratch (that is I've de-installed, and re-installed it now a couple of times). I've reloaded it and used the regirstration code from Adobe's "my products."

It only seems to happen when trying to select the text tool.

(I did post another message pointing to the DLL but I'm now more suspecious that it might be a font or registration issue.)
I paste a picture into Paint.net. That works fine. Resize it, fantastic works just as I want it to. Click "text", choose a colour.. no text. Just blank. So I click text again.. blank. I choose a different colour.. still blank. It's forever making me type invisible text.
So I have to close paint.net, re-open. Text is magically working again. So I decide to make the text first, THEN add the pictures. So I write the text, all goes fine. I add the pictures, all works fine. I go to move the text and pictures around to align them properly.. nothing will move! It just creates invisible squares or makes me try and write text again, so I click on the history on the right to select what I want to move, and everything suddenly vanishes and disappears!
I know this program is freeware so I've no right to complain, but it really is infuriating when people release software that doesn't even work. I may not have paid for the program but I do have to pay my ISP for the bandwidth I just wasted downloading this pile of tosh.
I used PSP X2 ... a few days ago I bought x4...but I dont know how the text tool is working properly..
Is it possible to change it, that it will work like that one in X2 ?

every time a open a picture and choose the text tool it is in "vector mode" but I do not want this mode.
it allows me to save normaly, but if i want/need to change a file type, or name and i click "save as" the save as window pops up for a brief moment then disapears.and photoshop feezes. it doesnt really crash, it just freezes and i have to go into task manger to close it.
im a digital artist so my cs3 program is really important...i need it up and running again!! any help here?
ive already tried ALT+Spacebar and then M to see if the window was juust off screen, but it didnt work. ><''
besides the program lagging ocassionaly with big file loads/saves everything works fine. its just this problem that keeps me from workng!
I have win XP + Adobe CS 3 Standard installed on my pc: when i open more than one photo at the same time with Photoshop CS3, the application immediately close.
I have two pc with the same configuration and i have the same problem. Note that i have Adobe CS2 installed + upgrade to Adobe CS 3. If i use Photoshop CS 2 i dont have trouble.
I haven't changed any settings but everytime I press CTRL+G it just adds a group instead of layer mask!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to burn a movie to my tv screen in VS Pro X4. i used 4:3 aspect ratio but when i took the DVD to view on my tv, i saw 4 black borders around the movie on my tv screen, the borders were on top, bottom and both the right and left side. I tried both 16:9 and 4:3 in VS x4 and both had the same results 4 black borders.
when i burned the same movie in VS 10 plus with 4:3 the movie fits the size of my tv screen.
why is it that VS pro X4 ultimate cant burn the movie to fit the size of my tv screen as it did in VS 10 Plus? what setting am I missing in setting in VS X4
My pencil tool has randomly stopped working, everything else in that pallet works fine. But when I select pencil and try to draw or change stroke size it has no reacion. I did try uninstall and reinstall but no good?

The history palette shows "dodge tool" each time I click in the image, but nothing happens. I tried these tools in a another similar file & both dodge & burn work fine. Although I can grab the color (alt+click) -- and I see the "spot" that I drag to clone/paint over the object that I'm trying to remove... NOTHING HAPPENS. No color applies, nothing disappears - nada.Â

Even though the strength of the blur tool has been set to 100%, the image mode is set to RGD, and I'm applying the blur tool to the right layer, it has no effect whatsoever.

I make my selection, press "Refine Edge", make the changes I require and the preview shows everything is fine.
I click "OK", the Refine Edge box disappears and my changes do as well! The only difference is that my original selection area has decreased (I'm no pro, but it looks as though the edges have been feathered.)
I have no other layers except for the duplicated background.
I have tried older Photoshop files and this tool does not work for them either - even though I have used Refine Edge at work successfully before, but this was on another computer.
Perhaps I have accidentally adjusted a setting?
The blur tool does not work at all. How do you activate this feature.

I'm currently using photoshop CS6 and am trying to make a nice logo for my website. I used photoshop through high school so I know little basic things about the program. Anyways, I'm creating a logo from a tut on youtube, it says to hit "ctrl i" which makes the background black. After that I select a darkish grey as my foreground color, then I hit the gradient tool and set it to "radial gradient." Now I drag the mouse across the document and let go but nothing happens. I then tried it with a white background and it worked fine, but I want the background to be black. I made sure that it was on normal, the opacity is 100% and everything seems correct to what the tutorial was showing me. He uses a different photoshop than me so I don't know if that's what causes it.

The brush becomes too small and has a hardness effect, not smooth at all. If I size up the brush real large it's still not right (like in lower corner) and it's hard to control because I hardly see the brush movement. Pressing the pen tip on the tablet pen/mouse mode didn't.
When I use the keyboard short cuts to to zoom (ctrl ++ and ctrl -) they don't work. Any ideas why?
