When I switch between Photoshop 6 and other apps, particularly Chrome, I have to actually click the Photoshop icon, sometimes several times to get the system to focus on PS and show those menus. Clicking the window, which works for every other app, doesn't seem to work here. I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and using the latest PS6.
View 4 RepliesWhen working on large documents, the cursor freezes for 8-10 sec when I switch from PS to another app/finder. It also happens when I switch back to PS. 8-10 sec. of complete freeze out until everything starts working again.

I'm getting the EPIC_APP will not launch problem trying to launch Acrobat, so I try to launch Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc., get the License Agreement screen, accept it, it goes away, and nothing more happens (incl. no indication in Task Manager that it has started). I have a working internet connection (obviously, or I wouldn't be able to submit this question), but could it be a firewall issue anyway? If not, what gives? It's a fresh install of Adobe MC CS3 on a Toshiba Sattellite L305-S5933 running 32 bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 w/ 3GB of RAM. Please help: I'm trying to use Acrobat to edit my 1040 and, obviously, time is of the essence!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed the Adobe CS, and am running OS 10.3.3. I have two USB printers, one epson and one HP, that print fine with all other apps and are in my printer list and so on... But when I go to try to print from Photoshop, in the print dialog window, instead of my default printer being selected, the drop down menu says "No printer selected". When I go to try to select a printer from that drop down menu, my two printers are not there, and instead the only options are "Edit Printers list..." and "check for printer updates..".
I have tried everything I could think of... Like I said the printers are installed and working great in other apps, and the same menu in other applications shows both printers and lets me select them. Any suggestions? Is there a plugin or something that I need to put in a specific Adobe folder? Why don't the Adobe programs see the printers? Here's another weird thing: Adobe Acrobat does see the printers. And that is how I have to print my photoshop docs, save as PDF and then print.
Why is Photoshop CC displaying images 25% smaller than my other applications? If I open a 72 ppi square pixel aspect image in Photoshop, I have to zoom to 125% for it to be the same size on screen as in my browser or any other image viewer. Photoshop reads the correct pixel sizes, but displays it smaller.

I design and build websites and have been using Photoshop for over 15 years and haven't noticed this until CC. If I save the images and build out the site, or even just drag the image into a browser and then overlay that browser window above the Photoshop window to see both images side by side, I can clearly see a 25% difference in size.

If I zoom in Photoshop to 125%, then the sizes match. So, the problem is when designing a website, everything looks smaller in photoshop. Then when I build it out, everything is way too big.

My browsers are definitely at 100% zoom and I can open the image in any other image viewer at 100% and the affect is the same. Is there a setting that can be adjusted in Photoshop to correct this?
PSE 6 program won't open from the start menu or Windows Explorer and the editor and organizer apps won't open from Windows Explorer. All the files are listed in WE and not empty. This happened recently after I have used the program a few years. Do I need to reinstall the program? If so, will the catalog have to be recreated? There are more than 7000 photos in the catalog. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed PS CC this morning and it's only seeing 4gb RAM. I opened it and closed it a couple times and it saw my 16gb once. I thought all was well until I closed it and opened it again and it was back down to 4gb.Â

^ I added the application Folder listed on Illustrator because I think it's great that it says my system is x86 but then but the files in to a folder named 64bit.
I just installed CC last night, so I haven't had a lot of time to work with the CC apps yet... Bridge has been working fine since the start for LOTS of sorting and tagging images in the last day and a half, and I've opened CameraRAW a handful of times without issue, then this evening I tried to open Photoshop CC for the first time and got a whole lot of strange messages about expired trials and activation problems and other errors and then it crashed... At first I think my internet security software was maybe interfering with Photoshop's attempts to confirm licensing online, but I seem to have gotten that sorted out ... so I no longer get all the weird licensing errors, but right after Photoshop loads I very quickly get the "Photoshop has quit working" error and it crashes. After experiencing this issue I went and tried all my other CC apps and Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge all seem fine... just Photoshop is giving me issues.

I am using CC on Windows 7 pro. I previously have had Master Collection CS3 and CS5 installed on this computer... but I de-installed these entirely before installing any new apps. I had some errors in de-installing CS3 so I used the Adobe Cleaner Tool to ensure that CS5 and CS3 had been completely de-installed before starting fresh with CC. I don't expect this previous software is causing any issues, but I figured I'd give a complete account of my situation.

I get the 'can't open the app because PowerPC apps are no longer supported. I went to support and ran the script that was recommended. And I confirmed that com.apple.LaunchServices.plist is no longer in my pref file.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a color management issue. I use CS3 and the Spyder2Express color calibration system. I presently have my system (Windows) set to the Spyder2Express profile found under the display properties. I have Photoshop set to sRGB under edit-color settings. I am for some reason suddenly (in the past few days) having big issues with editing the photo in Photoshop to look as I want, then it experiencing a large color shift when viewed in any Windows application or uploaded to the web (IE7). Colors look very dull and washed out compared to Photoshop. From my experience, the opposite has been true if working in Adobe RGB and failing to save to sRGB before uploading the image to the web - the images wash out. So, why are my images washing out if working in sRGB as my Photoshop color space to begin with? Any Photoshop + windows experts combined that can help? I am pulling my hair out. I need to upload photos to my blog (I am a photographer) and they look super dull compared to how they view in Photoshop!

My OS is Mac OSX 10.7.5.
(Win) workstations with full CS6 or CC and C4D. If you own (or freelance at places with) decent spec HP Z820 20-30+GB RAM etc would you normally have AI, PS, AE & Cinema 4D open at the same time on Windows?

Using Mavericks on my Mac I saved a swatch in the default folder in Photoshop CC as a .ASE file. The default folder path is: Users>myusername>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CC>Presets>Color Swatches.

When I tried to load the swatch in Illustrator using 'Load> Other library' in the swatches panel I find that the Users>Library folder is hidden meaning I can't drill down. Obviously I could save my swatch in a more accessible place but am I wrong in expecting the default folder to not be hidden?

I can navigate to the Library folder at Finder level via the Go menu by holding the option key but I'm unable to do this in the Illustrator dialogue.

So my question is this: In order to share swatches between CC apps do I either have to save them in a folder I define or is there a way of accessing the hidden User>Library folder within a Load Library dialogue?

A look around the AD site shows all the apps for the App Store and Google Play but not Windows Phone. I use a bunch of AD apps on my iPad and iPhone that are a "must have" now. A quick Google search brings up a bunch of articles but I haven't seen anything definitive from AD. Does the AD apps (most importantly SketchBook Mobile, Autodesk 360, ForceEffects) are coming out for that platform anytime in the future?

I haven't used any XARA product so I'm wondering if any of the XARA products are suitable for creating icons for Android or iPhone apps? I'm looking to create the fancy glossy icons that look 3D-like. Output would be PNG, JPG, and may need to import PSD (photoshop) file. The icons would have to be created in different resolutions/sizes.
Or should I stick to icon centric apps like IconWorkshop from Axialis?
I watched one of Terry White's videos on Adobe TV in which he used buttons (pins) on a map to reveal different images which were basically the different states of a multi-state object. He then output this to an iPad and everything worked fine. I've tried to replicate this as follows:

Also, I've inserted a video (MP4) file but it doesn't show in the Content Viewers either. I get sound on the dekstop Content Viewer, but nothing on my Android phone.
I'm trying to get down the bottom of what's causing an extremely serious error in the 64-bit version of Adobe Illustrator CS6.

Adobe Illustrator can open CorelDRAW .CDR files, to a certain extent. The .CDR files need to be saved down to version 9 or 10 compatibility. One of my coworkers just ran into a really bad Illustrator CS6 crash caused when opening a .CDR file. This is a crash I had to endure on my own new system a couple months ago.

After Illustrator CS6 64-bit crashes it simply refuses to launch again. It crashes and closes. Rebooting doesn't work. Deleting the AI prefs file doesn't work. Worse yet, the crash basically hoses all of the CS6 64-bit apps that are installed. The 64-bit version of Photoshop CS6 crashes when opening a file.

The last time this happened my only recourse was to do a "factory reset" on my computer, basically wiping the hard drive and reinstalling Windows 8 Professional in a clean state and then going through the very long, slow process of downloading and installing the CS6 apps from the Creative Cloud.

Are there any possible alternatives that might fix this error besides wiping the hard drive and starting over? This bug is pretty badly timed. Gonna have to go through all the download/install process stuff again when the new CC apps are released.
Some weeks ago, I posted about my inability to install SP3 -- (a host of) Error 1310 messages, related to permissions to access certain folders, according to the on-screen messages.
Last night, for the first time, I could not open Draw at all -- there was a pause while the PC tried to open it, then an useful message box that reported that a "problem" had caused Draw to stop working, and that I should close the program.
Trying to open all other X5 suite apps is similarly unsuccessful, though none produces that particular error box.
I tried to repair the installation. No go. More Error 1310 messages.
I tried to reinstall SP2, the last patch that actually worked for me. Error 1310.
I tried to uninstall the suite. Not allowed. Error 1310.
I then tried a series of steps to correct the access errors causing the 1310 messages. I tried unregistering/registering the msiserver; deleting or renaming the "Config.msi" folder to which the errors referred, hoping the newly created folder would not have the issue. I made sure I had administrator privileges (the 1310 error alleges that the user does not have access to the given folders). I did everything I could find online. No effect.
So, at the moment, I can't open, repair, update, or uninstall the Draw X5 suite. Short of wiping the hard drive (I don't have issues when I try to uninstall other apps), is there anything I can do?
I know this is a Windows issue, but with that "A problem has caused Draw to stop working" error message.

I've got an image of a light blue wave. The wave is not a solig color, but consists of many blue variations. The background of this image is white.
Now I want to paint the background blue and the wave in different shades of white and light blue. How can this be done?
When I open an image a guide line appears horizontally above the image in the gray background frame. I don't see an option to switch off the guide as default. Have I missed this?
You can clear the guide easily enough but I'd like an option to stop it altogether. I have changed the colour to light gray so it is unobtrusive but it would be helpful to get rid of it.
Strangely, I have the same problem in Dreamweaver CS3. Guide lines always appear on open pages. Can't get rid of those either.
I am a MacPro user and after a few hours of use the tools switch of, by that I mean clone, brush etc just will not work. If I restart, they work okay anyone any idea what is going on please?

i threw all my brush ABR's into the adobe Photoshop/Preset/Brushes folder so they would appear when I click on the expanded options inside of the brush panel on the top/right under the close "x". however that icon is so small and annoying to click on, does anyone know of a easier way to load/switch between brush sets?
