i'm intending to make a photo calender. i've selected 12 best photos for the job, but what i lack now is uniqueness. other than the predominant filters that i can apply in CS3, playing with black/white/sepia colours, what other things can i do to make the images look more stunning/refreshed? maybe you guys can introduce some workflow techniques to me, or perhaps some nice add-ons that i can use to make this wonderful workpiece.

I already have an idea for one of me wielding a lightsaber, but after that, I've run out of ideas for anything I know how to do in Photoshop. I had an idea for me creating some sort of energy shield, but I simply don't know how to really create that effect in Photoshop.

Is there a way to get Photoshop to generate or support a 5 colour file. an extra channel isn't regonized as an extra colour by quark express. At the moment the current answer is two tiffs over the top of each other with the upper set to over print, but this is a little clumsy!

to create lightning/electricity effect on text that curves/bends to the shape of the text?
I would like the random/jagged effect like render clouds produces.
I have experimented with render clouds filter until I was blue in the face.
I know you can use a black paint brush to add lightning to what the render clouds filter produced.
Mine always look too orderly.
I figure this can be done since using a radial gradient produces a circle of electricity.
Just can't figure out how to relate this to text.
Also is there a way to create branches without using brushes?
how d I insert special charecters "like copyright" into a photoshop 6.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been wanting to upgrade to CS6 but have one issue that is preventing me from using it exclusively during testing that did not occur in CS5.
When typing special characters the formatting jumps all over the place and the speical characters end up at the end of text and not where I typed them.
For instance, if I type ALT+0169 (The copyright symbol ©) then my name, the © ends up at the end of my name. I have to reopen CS5 to do any speical characters using the ALT key + number combinatiion.
To try it, just type [Space][Space][ALT+0169] then any text. If your system is doing what mine does, the text jumps around and puts the © at the end of the text not the start.
I've tried to copy and put the character at the end of the text but to no avail. It seems CS6 only allows the character at the end of the text line.
It's the only thing keeping me from upgrading to CS6 which otherwise I really like.
I'm experiencing a very bizarre problem in CS with a font special character. I used Extensis Suitcase to examine all the font characters for a particular font that I'm using on a project. The character mapping shows the key combination for the character I want is (on a Mac) Option/Alt + Z.
This works in every other application on my computer, including my email application, but for some reason, within CS it brings up the Omega character. Any idea why this happens and how I change it? I even tried to type the character in Word and cut and paste it into Photoshop and it changes! What gives?
When I try to save an image and select the picture format like tiff or jpeg ps always saves the picture in the wrong format. for example I choose jpeg and in the save window the picture has the wrong format (ending). It is saved in the format which is shown in front of jpeg which is .iff? I have already deleted the preferences but the bug stays the same.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow to accomplish a special corner treatment. I'm working with very large panoramic files, that frequently have portions of roof top or other obstruction in the corners. I'm looking to try an effect that is a page curl, but more exaggerated than the typical "Warp/Shadow" effect I've used. I would like the curl to be a cone shaped spiral. I am working with VERY high resolution files (very large), so I should have a lot of detail to use in the edge of the curl.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWindows 7; Photoshop 13 (CS6).I am typing some text in a new layer; no problem so far. I need to insert some special characters that are not on the keyboard, e.g.TōkaiThat also was not a problem; I copied the character from the Windows Character Map.
Now I want to copy/paste more special characters from the Character Map, e.g.
☏ (U+260F) or
✉ (U+2709)
Now all of a sudden this does not work; the pasted characters appear in Photoshop as a boxed X.The font I have been using was Arial, but when I pasted these Unicode characters, the font automatically changed to Myriad Pro. Changing the font back to Arial does not alter the boxed X.
I took these Unicode characters from the Character Map using font Arial Unicode MS. That font does not appear in Photoshop.Questions:are there any Unicode fonts available in Photoshop?is there any other way to paste such characters into Photoshop?
I've exported the ePub file from InDesign CC and found some special characters are looks as box i.e., as junk. But while unzip the ePub and open the particular XHTML in internet explore, it displays fine.
View 3 Replies View Related of Adobe Photoshop v6.0.1 (quite old, I know, but it do all I want and on my old HW I did not plan/want to use any more recent version, because they are HUGE and with just a little preferences trick, I did not need to reinstall my PS - ever ), yet as Czech user, I need my software to type some special characters as well. These are looking like this:

Now the only problem is, that some of them PS just refuse to type. Seven small and seven caps are just wrong. See the line "for PS:"...
I battled the problem even by editing the fonts itsels, because that seems to work with Adobe Illustrator, yet this also cause the edited fonts to be useless in another programs. So I looked deeply and in the Adobe settings in directory Fonts / Reqrd are directory CMaps and perhaps editing the character map used will be better and usable solution? how to do it or even determine with file from the 96 files in the CMaps directory are right now used by Adobe Photoshop?
It seems that I cannot enter a special character into the text of a title with Alt-0xxx, even though this works with just about all other Windows applications. Is this a feature or a bug? Or is there a way to do this that I'm unaware of?
For the moment I'm entering the special characters into a text editor, then copying and pasting them into the title, which works, but is awkward. I don't understand why VideoStudio doesn't let me enter the characters directly.
The characters in question are things like typographic quotes, some accented characters, bugs like copyright and registered trademark, and other things that are not unusual to need to use in a title.
How I might create the effect of a diamond sparkling which I can use to overlay a video clip.
I want to add an effect to a face as if one of the person's teeth sparkles. I can remember in the movie The Great Race where this effect was added to a smile by the actor Tony Curtis. This is the effect I am trying to produce. I have looked at all the video filters but there are none which will produce this effect and it any case I think that I will have to do it using an overlay track rather than a video filter as I would want to position the actual sparkle according to where the 'tooth' is on screen.
