I had a pc crash and am reloading all my old programs including VS 4. I found everything except a couple effect. One was a crown that could be adjusted and placed on a head, another was a wand that went across the screen with sparkling bits, another had butterflies, etc.

Is there a way to find and/or replace "very" special characters like [carriage return], [backspace] or even [tab mark], considering that the first thing that comes to mind when saying special characters is the standard and extended ASCII only.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems that I cannot enter a special character into the text of a title with Alt-0xxx, even though this works with just about all other Windows applications. Is this a feature or a bug? Or is there a way to do this that I'm unaware of?
For the moment I'm entering the special characters into a text editor, then copying and pasting them into the title, which works, but is awkward. I don't understand why VideoStudio doesn't let me enter the characters directly.
The characters in question are things like typographic quotes, some accented characters, bugs like copyright and registered trademark, and other things that are not unusual to need to use in a title.
How I might create the effect of a diamond sparkling which I can use to overlay a video clip.
I want to add an effect to a face as if one of the person's teeth sparkles. I can remember in the movie The Great Race where this effect was added to a smile by the actor Tony Curtis. This is the effect I am trying to produce. I have looked at all the video filters but there are none which will produce this effect and it any case I think that I will have to do it using an overlay track rather than a video filter as I would want to position the actual sparkle according to where the 'tooth' is on screen.

For example, when I need a ñ (n with a tilde on top, found in Spanish words), I pressed [alt] and 164 at the same time. However with VS X2, it does not work and I could not enter special characters in Titles. is this no longer available in VS X2 or I did something wrong in the settings/configuration of VS 12?

trying to not have to animate every single one of these by hand.
Looking to upgrade my video software. I'm a long time user of Video Studio but my last version was 10. The lip sync was pretty bad then as was the new text menus and support, thus my reason for not upgrading. Same video files rendered with Nero (at the time) had no problems. I remember there being a sticky at the top of the support forum with all the things to do to try to minimize these problems.

I have a number of clips at 1080p (30fps) and 720p (60fps). These look excellent when played raw from the videocamera files (MP4s), but no matter what output I select from Videostudio they look as if there is a stutter as if played at a lower fps. This effectively renders Videostudio a non-starter as my videos will look worse edited than unedited. Am I missing something, or is this a limitation of the software.
I have a hex core AMD 1050T with 16GB of memory and a GTX560Ti so there should not be a performance problem.
Is there a filter for keystone correction or another product I could pre-process my clips though for keystone correction?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy son has taken an interest in creating stop-motion animation with his Lego building sets using Corel Video Studio 4. I have experimented with using our video camera (JVC Everio) as well as several of our digital cameras (Nikon "Coolpix", a semi-generic Canon, etc.) to capture the images "live" and then import them using the stop-motion creator in the CVS4 program with no luck. The best I can do is use a webcam. The problem is that the lens aperture and resolution on the webcam is so small that it creates a sub-optimal image.
I am thinking I will need to invest in a DSLR (which I have been thinking about getting anyway) in order to effectively use this feature. suggest a DSLR that will merge with CVS4 and allow me to capture the image live from the camera and produce better animations? I have looked at a Nikon d3100 and the Canon EOS Rebel - leaning toward the Nikon (for no particular reason) but want to make absolutely sure it will interface with CVS4 like this.
I have a screen splited to 4 and a shoot is played in each one. I would like to put a Filter of Effect that will take one of this pieces and zoom it in till it will fill the complete screen. Just today I noticed a similar video in the Corels site where the introduce the VS X5.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased VideoStudio Pro X4. I have been making movies just fine, but now I am wanting to try some new things such as effects. Here are some things I would like to try, but I am not sure if VideoStudio has this capability:
1. Add explosions to movies.
2. Also other effects like lightning coming from fingertips.
3. I have seen in other video clips where people have added a mouth to various inanimate objects such as a wall or fruit or whatever. The object would remain still while the mouth spoke. I am not sure if this is clear or not.
I noticed that some have used Adobe After Effects. Is this what is needed? It seems kind of expensive.
The chromakey function works passably well when I'm using it without any effects (I still have issues with transparency) but seems to work not at all when I apply an effect. I've tried applying sketch, rotosketch, colored ink, emboss, etc to the overlay after I've chroma keyed out the green and it basically eliminates the green screen effect.
There are SOOO many issues with this program that are really beginning to make it unusable for me.
-- Transitions applied to overlays (even a simple cross fade) usually affect all clips playing at that time (not just the specified overlay effect) which makes them unusable for overlays.
-- Even with smart proxy turned on, the preview video gets garbled and choppy after a few playings.
It's just a shame because the interface really is more intuitive than any other program I've used (after effects, Premiere, Vegas).
How to reverse the visual effects in VS13 ?
For example: I put blur effect on clip and it works like normal picture becomes blur picutre, and I want to change it like blur to normal one.
Is this possible to do in VS ?
I've previously paid for 3D Explosions from NewBlue and just today activated and installed the effects. They don't, however, show up in my FX file. I don't know why, and need to use them. How to get them to appear and be usable in VSX4? Do I have to find them somewhere and manually put them in the program file?
