error when I run action on files (I like to run batches of about 600, as I process movie screencaps - you know, crop, thumbs, etc, just monotonous stuff).
File: "D: ffThumbs.db"
Error: Could not complete your request because Photoshop cannot recognize the file extension. (-25600)
I am not able to save the changes that I make to the starting position of my scenes thumbnails when I use a Thumbnail Menu to create my DVD. I am using Video Studio X4 with Service Packs 1 and 2 installed running on Windows XP Home, SP 2 with all updates installed and DirectX 9.0. The scene changes work fine when I Preview them but they are not saved when I close the Create Disk sub-menu. When I return to the “Menu and Preview” section of the Create Disk sub-menu, the Main Menu scene change is present as is the Chapter 1 scene change but the other chapter scene changes are gone. What can I do to correct this?
I tried to install Photoshop CS6. I used the Adobe Download Assistant. During first try of installation my battery of the notebook broke down - I accidentally forgot the charger..When I try now again an installation the Download part with the Assistant works fine but during installation the process does not continue anymore after this step ..The "progress-bar" of this dialog completes but after this nothing happens.
I tried this several times.I also tried to clean the registry (Ccleaner) - no success.
My notebook: Acer Aspire 5920G Win7 32bit Photoshop CS6 via Adobe Dowload Assistant
System Information Windows 8 x64 AOC 2243fW 1920x1080 monitor (x2) Processor: Intel Core i3 2120 3.40GHz (Dual Core) Ram: 6GB GPU: nVidia geForce GTX 760 TI 2GB DDR5
Notes: Photoshop is up to date. Performance settings in photoshop are set correctly. Monitor Profiles are not defective. Images/Files are not corrupted.
Issue: After a fresh restart of my PC Photoshop will function as normal for a short while (1hr appx.) after that it ceases to import/export or do any of it's intended functions. I CANNOT import ANY files. I am not presented with any error messages and it simply doesn't work. Buttons appear to highlight and the toolbars are still accessible, however I cannot continue with my work. If I then restart my computer it will function for a short while again then this will happen.
Things I have done: Reinstalled Photoshop CS6 Deleted Preferences (Multiple Times) Contacted Adobe Support in which case they failed to fix the problem.
i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
I've been running into an odd problem using the Animation window and Transforms. If I select an area then try to Transform it (using either Free Transform shortcut or the Move tool with "show transform controls" enabled), the canvas and navigator stop refreshing. I can still pan around the canvas and draw on selected layers, but those are the only operations that get the screen to refresh. Changing frames, turning on/off layers, and hitting Undo will still perform those actions but the results aren't displayed on screen until I pan the canvas.
If I have multiple files open, all of them are effected in this way. Quitting then restarting PS gets rid of the refreshing problem, but if I use the Transform tool in a file this problem has occurred in, the same thing happens.
This doesn't happen until I've been working on a file for a long time (at least an hour or so), regardless of file size as far as I've tested. The problem persists with and without OpenGL drawing enabled. I have an Nvidia GTX 560 with driver 306.97 installed.
I'm trying to install Photoshop CC on my sony vaio laptop ( windows 7 ) but everytime I try to install it the install process stops at 62%. I have the completeadobe master collection CS4 installed on my laptop but none of the programmes are currently running and I do have lots of disk space left.
My keyboard often stops working while using PS6. Not all keys, just a random few. Things like pressing T for the type tool will stop working, the arrow keys will stop working. It's driving me nuts and seriously interrupting my workflow.
Restart PSRestart MacDo something else for a bit and jump back into PS praying it might now be ok.The problem exists using the laptop keyboard alone, and while using a bluetooth(apple) keyboard.
I've tried multiple times and each time the installer stops at about 80-90% on the install. No error message just stops.I even tried just installing single parts of the CS4 package and the same thing. I am running Windows 8 64 bit.just trying to get photoshop installed.
After opening and using photoshop cs6 for a few minutes I get a box popping up saying Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." So far never received any notifications about a solution. I notice that it closes soon after I try a CTRL T to select an image.
Ihave CS3 extended running on Vista.Program ran find for months until yesterday, Whenever I try to open a picture file CS3 stops working and shut down. It doesnt matter what type file. I removed program amd reinstalled, still got same probelem. Any suggestions on how to solve?
CS4 OpenGL stops working after a few minutes of painting. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the amount I paint. If I save the file, then reopen I can paint for another few minutes before the opengl stops working. Is this a standard problem with CS4? Is there a solution?
I am a paying subscriber of Adobe CC and my problem is this. After about 15 minutes of use in Photoshop CC (32 or 64 bit), it suddenly stops letting me either create a new file or open an existing one. I select File->New->the new document dialog appears and I select the defaults and click OK. Nothing happens. Same thing with File->Open->select an existing image file and it never appears.
If I reboot my computer or logout and sign in with a different account, re-open Photoshop CC, it allows me to create and open files without issue...for about 15 minutes and then the same thing happens. This is NOT an illegal copy of the program! I am a paid subscriber.
When I have made 5 HDR RAW pictures and want to combine them within CS6, the program Photoshop stops working. Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong? I juist follow the instructions of the book.
I read on this forum that more than a year ago that this subject had already been approached here about CS6, without any proposed solution, and it continues with CC:- The limit of reframing with rotation stops in 0,6 ° - what was not the case of CS5- This limitation returns impracticable CC, in particular during treatment of reproduction of picture..I find that products CC bring me more inconvenience than profits. I believe that I am going to return to the previous version and to delete my subscription to Cloud (the same kind of unpleasant surprises with Dreamwaever !)
System is Windows xp pro 32 bit with 3GB ram. Cannot save or even close out photoshop. Need to end task and start over again. Sometimes documant will be recovered sometimes not.
I am a photographer and am using CS5 for image manipulation . I have recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad to use for editing but it seems to have an issue with the space bar shortcut. As soon as I press the space bar, the cursor will not move, I cannot click, not right click. If I plug in a USB Mouse, it will work fine.
Obviously most of the time I will be using a mouse, but it is most frustrating when I'm using the scratch pad and cannot pan around the image. I have checked through all the settings I can find regarding the scratch pad.
I'm recently having a problem in photoshop cs5.After a while in photoshop, MOST keyboard shortcuts stops working. the keyboard works just fine, but the shortcuts are'nt. All I need to do to fix it is to restart photoshop and it works fine again (until the problem occurs again). But recently, this problem occurs ever 2 mins. I've just started a design I wanted to finish with quickly, and I actually restarted photoshop at least 20 times.
btw, the only other applications running while photoshop is are windows media player, NOD 32 , windows photo viewer, and some other folders, thats it.
For the last three versions of Photoshop the shortcut keys [ ] for brush size stops working. Why is this not fixed? The other shortcut that shows brush size in red.
I have photoshop 9.0 and it has been working great but now I cannot load - it starts and then stops before completing the load. It did this last week and then after using spybot it seemed to work but now refuses again. Why is this happening? I have loads of memory.
I have downloaded the trial version of CS4. When installing the download stops at the Initializing stage with Checking System Profile bar stuck at 90%.
The PC has CS3 and Lightroom installed and both run well. The PC has 500 GB HD and 3 GB of ram I have tried to install with and without the virus checker switched on. I have tried also as Administrator, I have run both Win install clean up and the CS4 Clean Script.
First of all, let me say that I am very enthused with the changes in CS4. I feel that this is the best update to PhotoShop that I have seen, and I am a user since version 3.0.
The problem that I see, ocassionally, is that PhotoShop becomes non-responsive for a long period ie: 1-2 minutes. I have experienced this on both my desktop (64 bit Vista Ultimate and 64 bit CS4) and my laptop (32 bit Vista Ultimate). During this time the disk drive is continuously active as though it is swapping the file to disk. The file size, however, is not large enough to cause this and the utilization factor is shown as well below 100%. After a period of time the disk drive stops and CS4 becomes responsive again.
The system is an AMD dual core processor with 6GB RAM on the desktop and 2GB RAM on the laptop. Both systems use SATA hard drives. The CS4 scratch disc is a separate dedicated drive on the desktop. Both systems use Nvidia video and open GL is working fine on both computers. Both computers have the latest Nvidia drivers. Since there are no open GL problems, I assume that the video drivers are okay. As I have said, I see this problem on both my laptop and my desktop.
When I open Elements 7 on the left side it starts looking for subscription information but it never stops looking. I have to close the program and restart to get in. Thisd is extremely annoying. Why does it do that? I have a legal registered program. How do I get it to stop this?
needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
Everytime I select the liquify command PS stops working, I've tried with different resolution pictures, with the 32 and 64 bit versions. If I use CS5 I have no problems.
