Photoshop :: CS3 Tools Dont Work
Mar 31, 2009for a while now, my photoshop tools wouldnt work. it was only the tools that involved "painting" like the brush tool and quick select. after reinstalling, they would work but suddenly they'd stop again. eventually i figured out that it was the pen for my wacom tablet. every time i used the pen, it would make the mouse not work untill i reinstalled the program. this means that a setting changes (pen pressure or something) when i use the pen and it doesnt change back when i use the mouse. i cant deturmine which setting changes.

Sep 24, 2013I notice that some of the shortcuts/hot keys don't work. For example, one basic hot key that does not work is the F7-key. The F7-key opens and closes the layers palette.

Another hot key that does not work is the spacebar. My teacher taught me to hold the spacebar down when you want to move the canvas around. When I am in handtool mode I hold the spacebar down, I then apply pressure on my laptops touchpad, I then slide my finger across my laptops touchpad in order to try and move the canvas, but the canvas does not budge.

Some shortcuts work. For example, tapping the F-key multiple times will expand and reduce the size of Photoshop.

Closing my web browser did not resolve the problem. Updating the software did not resolve the problem.

Aug 24, 2004I'm having trouble with 2 problems in Photoshop CS. My first problem is that my keyboard shortcuts don't work, at all. They are turned on, but still do not work. Ive even tried setting my own, and those wont work either. Can anyone tell me how to fix that? Secondly, my brushes don't work. I have to set the brush to be over 100 just to see like a 5 pt line show up on the canvas. Ive tried everything!!!

While working on an illustration I'll frequently use keyboard shortcuts. command+z, i, r, z, option, etc. Someties after making a stroke with the brush tool, I'll go to undo with command+option+z and nothing will happen. Other keyboard shortcuts do the same thing—no response.

Jul 23, 2013I found that those shortcuts of the 'Character Panel' don't work correctly in Photoshop CC.
For example :
Press [cmd(ctrl)+ shift + >]→Increase or decrease the font-size with a step of 33.74px every time I press the shortcut.Previous version of Photoshop just changes the font-size with a step of 2px.

The same problem occurs while using the shortcuts to control tracking or leading etc... Obviously the 'step' is not correctly.This could be a critical problem for me.

Aonther problem is if you try to set the font-size to 100,it will say this 'A value between 0.01 pixel and 1296.00 Pixels is required.

Sep 1, 2013I added a shortcut (Alt-backtick) to invoke a script I had written. I seem to be able to run it once only, but only sometimes, and there seems to be come interaction with other shortcut functions that I can't characterise. The script starts with a dialog.

Usually the functionality of Ctrl-F gets clobbered also, and I also had an occasion where my shortcut executed the functionality of Ctr-F - i.e. I had just applied a drop shadow, and Ant-backtick repeated that function.
Exiting and restarting Gimp returns things to normal (but broken).
My script just adds an entry field to export-selection.scm so I can enter a filename for the PNG file.

One big problem the intersection wizard will not lock PV onto the drefed alignments and profiles as they are read only.

Dec 18, 2013If I do a command such as regen, or switch between tabs/modelspace, generally anything that seems to involve a screen update, then immediately following that if I try something like a Shift-Tab type of operation, there is no response from autocad until I move the mouse. Â This is consistent if hardware accelertion is turned on or off, so I can't go blaming the video drivers just yet.

the problem i am haveing is i cant use them all.
what i meen is when i open the brush selection menu i dont have any way of scrolling acros to see them all.

Jan 22, 2007I use laptop to print pictures and graphics.
I send my designs to a commercial printing company. Usual case is, is that the pictures turn out too dark or too lite, and sometimes it is due to the fact that the CMYK colors are overaly saturated causing all these colors layer to overprint and make it come out too dark. On my screen I dont see those oversaturated colors, I see a picture that looks good on screen. When Im using flat color somewhere, I have a swatch book that I use to assign number to each color and so the results are always great. But you cant do that with pictures, with pictures you have no idea. I use a color picker and set it to 5 point average to measure color, but it really doesnt tell me much. How can I measure a whole picture and be able to tell if the output looks oversaturated or undersaturated or too lite or too dark?

Jul 11, 2008I have, up until I got CS3 and the new aluminum keyboard, not had any issues with this.
I have numerous, common actions recorded which have F keys assigned to as shortcuts.
F10, which turns sound off in the OS on an aluminum keyboard, overrides my Photoshop shortcut.
I've lost my 12 or so most common action shortucts in Photoshop because of this! That is about a 5% loss in productivity...

Feb 12, 2009My prints dont match what i am seeing on the screen when using CS3. I am using windows xp and printing on a epson 7800. I never had this problem before i started using CS3. I have calibrated my monitor.
I have the standard version of CS3 not the extended. I read a arctical that CS3 prints darker then what is on your screen. The solution if you have CS3 extended is to increase lightness just before printing, but what if you dont have the extended version, what do you do?

May 17, 2009Im having issues with cs4. When i use a tool (paintbrush, eraser), it randomly applies it somewhere else. For instance when trying to paint precise lines while following and edge the brush will apply itself randomly somewhere else. It always happens when i release the mouse button and then press it to start using again. I could be painting a horizontal line, let off the mouse button, repress it and all of a sudden the brush paints a vertical line 3 inches away!

Jan 6, 2004The colors of pictures is much darker when working in photoshop than when I open it normally. And vice versa, I work on images inside photoshop, and I get the colors I want, but once I save it to bmp or jpg or anything else, all the colors are much lighter.
