I'm having trouble with 2 problems in Photoshop CS. My first problem is that my keyboard shortcuts don't work, at all. They are turned on, but still do not work. Ive even tried setting my own, and those wont work either. Can anyone tell me how to fix that? Secondly, my brushes don't work. I have to set the brush to be over 100 just to see like a 5 pt line show up on the canvas. Ive tried everything!!!

I previously used PhotoShop 5 which had particular shortcuts which I have been using for years now but since purchasing CS2 I cannot use these shortcuts? View 8 Replies View RelatedI notice that some of the shortcuts/hot keys don't work. For example, one basic hot key that does not work is the F7-key. The F7-key opens and closes the layers palette.

Another hot key that does not work is the spacebar. My teacher taught me to hold the spacebar down when you want to move the canvas around. When I am in handtool mode I hold the spacebar down, I then apply pressure on my laptops touchpad, I then slide my finger across my laptops touchpad in order to try and move the canvas, but the canvas does not budge.

Some shortcuts work. For example, tapping the F-key multiple times will expand and reduce the size of Photoshop.

Closing my web browser did not resolve the problem. Updating the software did not resolve the problem.

While working on an illustration I'll frequently use keyboard shortcuts. command+z, i, r, z, option, etc. Someties after making a stroke with the brush tool, I'll go to undo with command+option+z and nothing will happen. Other keyboard shortcuts do the same thing—no response.
I'm using win8 with photoshop cs5. Using english & hebrew languages. When using hebrew the keyboard shortcuts (exe: T for type, Ctrl+C, etc) doesnt work. everytime i need to change back to EN to use the keyboard. where can be the problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I do a command such as regen, or switch between tabs/modelspace, generally anything that seems to involve a screen update, then immediately following that if I try something like a Shift-Tab type of operation, there is no response from autocad until I move the mouse. Â This is consistent if hardware accelertion is turned on or off, so I can't go blaming the video drivers just yet.

Copy layer style is listed in the keyboard shortcuts dialog. For some reason it wants to raster shape layers so that's totally unusable.
Keyboard shortcuts will work for a little while, then suddenly stop. I can still select tools 'manually', clicking the icons, but pressing P for the paint brush tool or E for the eraser will have no effect. So far as I can tell this happens at random. It has also been fixing itself at random, after some undetermined amount of time not working, but then it just happens again.Â

I was madly working along, and suddenly, no keyboard shortcuts worked. I wrestled with this for quite some time. Then I realized that I had two layers selected, instead of one. When I selected only one layer, all my keyboard shortcuts returned and began to operate as normal.

I'm just wondering whether this is a feature to protect the user from unwittingly altering more than one layer at a time, or whether it's a bug?

where I can download a list of shortcuts applicable to a German keyboard? Whilst I'm using an English language version of CS4 (in fact my OS (XP Pro) and all applications are also in English) I'm stuck with a German keyboard out of necessity.

Most shortcuts of mine are working. But some, like print, color settings are not bringing up the appropropriate boxes. And the strange part is that the correct keys are listed in the menu.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit and PS CS2. I've been running the same copy of CS2 for a long time now but on XP. Now that I'm in Vista, some of the keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work and I'm not sure why. I don't see anything in the FAQ about this, and I -know- they are valid, default shortcuts.
Two examples (I use these all the time since I work with a lot of small icons):
#1. Using the arrow keys to shift the current layer/selection over by 1px (or the Shift+arrow keys combo for 10px) doesn't work anymore.
#2. Using Ctrl + and Ctrl - to zoom in and out of the image does not work anymore.
Anyone have any ideas? Maybe Vista is overriding / intercepting the keys somehow?
I just installed Photoshop CS and except for my tool pallet, all my shortcuts are dead. My actions work but only by actually clicking the action button, not by the asigned keys.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my new copy of PS/CS delivered, and all initally seemed to be well. However, I've noticed certain keyboard shortcuts don't work anymore - namely New > Layer via Copy (CTRL+J) doesn't do anything and neither do the arrow keys for nudge. Very annoying.
I've had a look in the new Keyboard shortcuts menu, and it's all on default settings and appears to be fine.
