View 6 Replies View RelatedYou know how when you're painting, you can hold ALT and it will pick a colour from the canvas? Well, for some reason, mine still picks up the colour but it sets it to the background colour instead of the foreground colour.
And when I actually select the colour picker tool, it will only select the background colour but when I hold Alt, it selects the foreground colour. Basically it's flipped where it's supposed to select.
Why when I use green for foreground color and go to Fill and use the option of Foreground color the selection is filled with black? Also why when I open a file with a green square, it also turns to black? And since I am asking questions, how do I get back the ability to get content and search within photoshop, instead of always being directed to Adobe online? I am using CS5.

When I define the area with anchor points, close it then select Make Selection, New Selection, it puts the marching ants around not only the area I selected but also the entire image (see below).
This suddenly started happening.
CS6 crashes on selecting any tool. It displays a spinning ball and can only be force quit. It developed this fault spontaneously. Where should I start searching? I repaired permissions, cleaned up the whole system, uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop.

Thought it de-selected on old machine and it's driving me crazy trying to retouch some jobs where the patch tool gets a real workout...Am running CS5 (12.1x64) on a new Windows 7 64 bit machine, using a Wacon Intous 4 w/latest drivers.
there's an invisible 10px border around each object/shape. it's so frustrating when i'm working on small icons or whatnot.i'll try and give an example the best i can... say i have two squares overlapping and are offset from each other by a 5px or so. if i want to select the back square, i'd normally... click on the part of the square i can see. in cs6, if i just click on the visible part of said square, it would select the front square. i have to click at least 10px out from the back square to select it.

I'm wondering if I have a defective program because the tool icon disappears when I switch tools and then reach for a new brush size. I have to click on my desktop to have the tool appear on my monitor. Also, is there a way of getting rid of the huge sample idicator that appears when you sample a color?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Photoshop CC in Windows8 64x as trial and find a curious bug with the Move Tool:Usually I select multiple layers creating a selection with the Move Tool on them, but in this new CC version the tool is selecting hidden layers too. More details: the hidden layer are inside a folder. The folder is hidden, but the inside layers are not.
This type of selection has always worked perfectly in previously versions, and of course, I leave the option "Auto Select> Layer" enabled.
I'm using PhotoShop from CS3 and have had a persistent problem with the polygonal lasso tool. Sometimes when I use it, the tool will only give me a few seconds in between mouse clicks to continue selecting. If I don't keep selecting new points (ie, if I leave the cursor hanging on the drawing with the selection still open), the lasso tool will automatically close itself. when I'm trying to do detailed selection work because it doesn't give me time to find the right point to select to before closing the selection over an area that ends up being useless to me.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis problem happens when I am using a brush and try to select a foreground color by clicking on the "Set Foreground Color" in the toolbox. The "Color Picker" appears, I choose a color, click "OK," and then a never-ending number of Firefox windows begins to open with the Photoshop help page (as if I repeatedly pressed the F1 key extremely quickly). I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and quit Firefox or the opening of windows won't stop.
This doesn't happen every time I use the color picker to select a foreground color, but whenever it happens, that's what I'm doing.

View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen you make a localized brush adjustment, selecting tint you could chose the opposite LAB color from the picker. And I explain my self why do I need that. When I try to correct color temperature I can use the temp color but this will affect all the image and some times I need to correct color temperature only from a part of the image. The easiest way from me to do this is to pick the color zone that I want to correct and see what LAB color do I get. For example I could get an orange color like L=89, A = - 6 , B= +72. To correct color the only thing that I have to do, is to tint the desire zone with the oppositeLAB color, in this case L=89 , A = +6 , B = -72 witch is a blue color, and then applyopacity to get the desire look

View 1 Replies View Relatedi switched from CS5 to CS6 Extended (Win 7 64bit) and I'm a little bit confused about the select/move tool (V). I have "automatic selection" activated and when I click on a layer, Photoshop often selects a nearby layer but not the one I'm clicking at - often the layer selected is more on top of the layer I was planning to select, but that was no problem in CS5 ... Is there anything I can change in the settings or is this behavior "normal"?
For example - a cursor placed at the marked position selected the white arrow-vector-shape.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a picture in photoshop, any picture, I see the picture and all around it is a background color. It has nothing to do with the picture or any work being done on the picture. This has to do with the color that comes up on the screen regardless of the picture. It was black and I hit something and it is now blue. I want this to go back to black.
I tryed clicking on the link below, selecting black for a background color and clicking and nothing changes.
When I have an color image I sometimes need to select a certain color from all the image. Is there a way with Photoshop CS2 to make this selection so the program figures out which areas have the same color specified and select it also? (did I explained myself?)
In other words if I want to select, say dark red in all the spots with the same color range, can I make the first selection of the color anywhere in the image and then use any selection option so it selects all similar colors?

When I try to select points in my vector shape (this one is selected), and I have other vector shape behind that one, I start dragging with Direct Selection Tool in order to select those two points, I got selected three points, two from first vector shape, and one more form shape that was behind and in the area where I was dragging selection. Also, now both vector shape become selected. Why is this happening if only one vector shape was selected?

I do not want to use the the Pen Tool to make selections of Vectors! I want to know if it possible to use the Pen Tool to select say the eyes or the arm or the chair or the apple, etc! Then convert that vector pen tool selection into a Raster selection?
Photoshop and Gimp do this! I would love this feature in PaintShop Pro X5, but since that out maybe the next version X6!
