I made a PNG logo transparent, and when I go to save the new transparent logo in PNG format, the quality has dropped significantly from the original. I have done nothing other than delete the background of the logo, why is this happening in a lossless format? What can I do to fix this or increase the quality of the transparent logo?

My question is how to maintain high quality (original quality) of a image after resizing it?
If i resize it with same ratio like:
2816x2112px to 1600x1200px (4:3)
2816x1584px to 1920x1080px (16:9)
Mainly i use scale image option in Gimp. But now i need to resize many images for my work so i tried David's Batch Processor to resize my images. After using it, i found there is some quality promble with the resized image.
Then i tried, the scale option with, use quality setting from original image and JPEG quality parameter is 95, in gimp but the problem is same. I did it with also with David's batch processor- JPEG quality parameter is 95.
Other thing is that, the original image 2816x2112px (4:3), size- 3.6 MB is displaying in image viewer with 47% and the resized image 1600x1200px (4:3). size- 1.2 MB is displaying in image viewer with 83%, So my questions are: How can i check the quality of a image after resizing it, means the image is exactly same as the original? Or Is David's Batch Processor maintain the original quality of the images after resizing?. I realy need to resize many images for my work.
I recently got a new computer. I use CS3 to edit. For some reason, whenever I resize the image, save it as a Jpeg and post it to the web, it loses image quality. Severely. I've never had this problem before....until this new computer. I usually resize the image to 800, then simply click on Save as Jpeg. Â

I tried opening a .eps file/image in Inkscape which as I understand is a vector program but the open file doesn't recognize the .eps files.

The .eps seems file w/in Ps itself but now I'm wondering about other programs. I'm so new I don't even know if that makes an sense.

Also, if Ps .eps files tend to lose scalable quality then is there a way in which I can create images as true vector or as images that won't lose their quality? Do I need an other program?
I've created a resume in Photoshop CS5 for OS X - I know, I should've used InDesign but I'm more comfortable working in Photoshop.

The PSD is currently 2550x3300 px (8.5x11 in) at 300 dpi. I'd like to save the resume as a PDF flie so I can submit it online. I have no intentions of printing this particular document. Most websites will only accept a file size of under 1MB. What are the ideal settings for saving a PDF in the smallest file size without sacrificing on image quality? I should also note that I do not have Acrobat Pro.
I have started editing photos using the Photo Fix Options in Instant Fix. I have then switched to Photo Editor to fine tune my edited picture. When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor. For some reason when I go to save after switching from Instant fix to Photo editor the uncheck feature is no longer available. step by step instructions to save revised photo afterusing Instant Fix first then Photo Editor.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have created a farm map in AutoCAD 2008. I want to have a sign made with this image on it with dimensions 775mm x 1096mm. I saved this image as an eps file of size A4 and sent it to the sign maker. The sign maker got back to me and told me that when he blew this image up it was blurry and could I please save it at its actual size.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to save this image at this size.
I record video tutorials about Photoshop (so, screen captures) and edit/combine the clips inside Photoshop CS6 in Win 7/64; Photoshop's new video talent is nice. I record 852x480px at 15 fps with FastStone Capture and save in WMV. I want to show the finished video tutorial on Youtube. There are several things baffling me when editing video in Photoshop CS6.

The result looks very nice when i play it locally in VLC. It looks like the original WMV. But: When i upload the Photoshop-version to YouTube, the video looks very badly "upsampled" and blurred. I searched my folder C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobedynamiclinkmediaserver1.0. There is a lot in it which i don't understand, but some file names include "MPEG", "AVI", "Adobe QT Server" etc. I think there is no Quicktime installed on my machine; i try to avoid it as it does many different things to the system and is obnoxious.

My questions:
- When aiming for a YouTube cast, could i stay with 852x480 (at 15 fps), or doesn't it make sense? (I like that size.) If 852x480 is not ok, what is the lowest resolution for getting good looking presentations on Youtube?
- Why does the Adobe Media Encoder in my Photoshop CS6 only offer the formats H.264 and DPX? Can i get more? (Free, pay.)
- Do i need to install Quicktime? How could i do this with less intrusive QT behaviour?
- Should i record more fps in FastStone Capture? (I don't find more fps necessary when looking at the original and when looking at the uploaded *original*.)
I have been working wiht adobe PS CS2 and was wondering if you guys here could help me with this. I see t-shirt designs and general illustrations that have this really high quality look ot them and I cant sem to find a tutorial on how to make images like this.
If you could give me even a general idea of what they are doing to make the letters look so shiny and the picture so perfect and smooth I would appreciate it.
I am using Photoshop CS6: I also tried this on CS5 going through the same process as below with a little bit higher quality but not the original quality.I open a PDF, Pops up "Import PDF" I hit ok. I edit the PDF by using the marquee tool to select an area in the PDF that I want to delete. I delete it once the area is selected. Then I save the PDF using "save as...". Set the format to PDF, then hit "save". Pops up "Save Adobe PDF" hit "Save PDF".

When I print off the original version of the PDF compared to the edited one the quality is a bit off. It fills up more space on the paper also. The first one is darker and overall crisper. Is there something I missed when saving the PDF to keep the same quality as it was before I edited it?
I'm trying to save a gif. but if I save optimized, it makes the colours go weird. I just want to save the original but photoshop isn't giving me that option!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to save a psd picture 125x500 picture. It is a simple gradient with nothing else in the picture. The psd saves with good quality. As soon as I save for web or even save as a jpeg or gif the quality is junky. Even with the jpeg file at maximum and not optiized there are chunky vertical lines. How can I fix this? The psd file is like 138k, but I can't save it more than 12k as a jpeg or gif.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI accidentally exported original photos in low quality (reduced size from 12MB to 600KB), as I needed to quickly (herein lays my mistake) upload them to a proofing site which requires me to reduce the quality of the images significantly. I NEVER usually do anything without backing things up, or before making a copy etc. This time however, I was in a BIG rush to get these to a client and I not only exported the original files (even though I exported to a new folder, somehow, the originals got reduced as well without me noticing), but I also deleted them from my memory card (I tried card recovery software and no luck). What I'm left with now is a folder full of low quality, useless images and no (known) way of restoring them to the original high quality (12MB) state. Here are some other details:

Images no longer show in preview (yes, I deleted them from there too!)I did not back-up I tried scanning my hard-drive, memory card and external drive with recovery software (no luck)the images were on 2 memory cards and, as mentioned, I deleted them using my camera (when I ran the recovery software, only images that I originally deleted via my computer came up - which were the "did not make the cut" photos from the shoot that I deleted in Bridge - the rest of the photos, which are the ones I need, are not coming up in the scan)These images were to be used as posters, so high quality is crucial. There is nothing in my trash can eitherI tried using a preview extraction plug-in, but as there are no previews (duh Sanja), the plug in proved useless I think that's all the info I can provide (maybe it's too much info as is)...
This is just something that i have been wondering...
Basically, I saved a copy of of a PSD to a JPG (max quality)
Then I opened the saved JPG and removed a few guide lines and re-saved the file still at max quality.
My questions is, did data loss, or re-compression occur during this "re-save" process? Is the re-saved file now of lower quality than the originally saved JPG?
After saving a file as, say, an 8x10 @ 240 resolution, I want to save the image as a 4x5 @72 resolution in a different file that I can give to someone on a CD. However, the new file seems to retain the 240 resolution at a dramatically reduced size so the CD gets a too-small image (and the recipient doesn't have the software to gross it back up to a 4x5).Â
I assume this has something to do with cache, which I've tried purging generally and also for the individual file. I have CS6 on a Mac Pro with ample disk space and auxiliary drives to store old files, also with plenty of spare space.Â
I've been asked to work with a blogger who until now has accepted images to their size uncompressed of resized. We've got around the problem of the max image size by using the plugin Insanity. Which has done a great job however what it doesn't do is re sample the images for the web.

Usually if I blog myself, I always save for web but I'm having real trouble, real real trouble creating an action that will save for web to the original folders instead of a separate one.

The thing is that there are so so many images in so many different folders and sub folders these must be modified and replaced ready for re upload.
I'm trying to set up a shop to sell prints of my artwork. The shop only allows 5MB or smaller images for photos. I'm trying to save my work as a file size at or below that, but i can't figure out a way to do it without sacrificing quality. because I'm trying to sell prints quality of the image has to be as best as it can be. I've tried a bunch of methods on how to keep file size down, but they all mess with the quality of the image.

It really has started to annoy me and I cnt edit my images. Please tell me a way to reduce this quality loss. I have to save the images in JPEG as I have to post them on the internet.

I Have my graphics processor as "Normal" and I haven't messed about with the settings much!
I have some labels created in an outdated Bar-One software program on an old computer and the only way I can move them to a new software is to make a screenshot of the labels and then import that bitmap image into Corel. My question is what is the best way to make the highest quality screenshot on any computer? Â
P.S. Is it possible to photograph a computer screen and get a good high resolution image (as an alternative to screenshots)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIsn't writing metadata to the XMP space of a file (jpeg or dng) altering the file? I assumed that non-destructive meant not changing the original file in any way, and this rewrites the file and thus changes the modification date. And if the Develop settings are included, then doesn't that confuse things as to which version will be displayed by an application that opens it? Do I need to store the original somewhere else? Or am I misunderstanding how this all works?Â
View 15 Replies View RelatedI use VS Pro 2X and I still use an old Sony handycamDCR-TR310 8mm NTSC digital camcorder for all my stuff. I'm not buying anything new in the near future.
Here is my problem:
When I burn to DVD after capturing video the quality of the video on a 1080p television is bad. MY Blue-Ray player upsizes DVD resolution but it looks like a low resolution WMV file.
I understand that this is not an HD video being played on an HD TV so the quality will not be steller. The reason for posting this question is that I have played a DVD, from the same setup, I made a year ago with a DVD I just made and the older DVD is much better resolution. This only affects video not titles or images or anything else.
Here is what I have changed since last year:
- I use the proxy feature in VS for editing video
- I burn DVD to 16:9 now instead of 4:3 but I have changed back and no fix at all
Assuming the camera is still good and the quality of the DVD burner and media are the same could there be something in VS Pro X2 that is changing my resoultion or quality from capturing, editing to burning? Maybe I changed something and did not know it. Where should I look?
I would like to significantly enlarge some digital images 2800X2100
to print out at A1 or A0. Has any body any suggestions or experience of doing this. I can think of 2 possible solutions
1. Vectorising the images
2. using some software genuine fractals or Photo Zoom
Has any one experience of doing this and how effective were the results.
I used an online txt to jpg converter and it generated a jpg of the txt file as if it was screencapped because it was too large to manually screencap it... but there is tons of speckles around the lettering and when I use despeckle it makes the speckles SO MUCH WORSE, you cannot ever read the text!!! I don't know why despeckle is doing the EXACT OPPOSITE!!!

I have to scale it down small, but I can't figure I've tried different settings with the pdf.I have also scaled it in photoshop and still doesn't matter.

When opening my unedited picture in Irfanview I can read a long list of information under "EXIF", but as soon when I open the photo in Paintshop and save it a great part of the original EXIF information is "gone" and replaced by a very brief survey, including Paintshop information.
What can I do to preserve the original EXIF information?
I installed an ICM profile from Red River paper in attempt to improve printing from LR by allowing LR to manage colors. Probably should not have done this because I am using Canon s9000 printer and Canon paper but I could not find Canon profiles anywhere on internet (for this printer). In any case, end result is horrific but I can't "reset" or uninstall.

Do I need to reinstall LR and photoshop to fix this? More likely this is now somewhere in Windows but I have already tried to delete everywhere I could find.Â
