I recently installed Windows 8 RTM and Photoshop CS6 Standard. I have installed the patch brining it up to 13.1 but rotate via the intuos tablet and it doesn't work. Intuos5 has touch now and that feature works on my laptop with W7 and CS5. Rotate canvas is also available on the touch ring but that doesnt work either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy MacBook Pro had been able to use the Rotate Canvas feature in the earlier release of Photoshop CC I downloaded in July, 2013. With the update in September, this feature has stopped working and it no longer detects my video card. True, I don't have 512 Megs of Video memory. And I have tried to install updated NVidia drivers for my computer... but even it refuses to update. My computer has 2 video cards depending on power settings.
OS X 10.6.8
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M (when in energy savings mode)
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT (normal and usually the display driver I use)
I can not accept that rotate canvas does not work because of my video card or my lack of video card memory. Both Maya and ZBrush are able to handle this operation using software rendered modes. Maya is also able to use my hardware using Viewport 2.0.
We did some tests with a windows 8 machine and we found out that the wacom Intuos5 driver is a total mess, Especially horrible with max and all 3d apps. The right click takes 2 seconds to appear and it lags a lot in dragging windows around. The right click also has the famous circle. In other words Intuos5 is unusable for Zbrush - 3ds Max workflow.
EDIT!!!15/02/2013 Wacom posted a new driver yesterday where 3ds max’s right click doesn’t work.!!! Whenever you press it turns the right click popup window on but you can’t select anything, the window sticks there until you use a mouse or throw a wacom tablet out of a window.
I'm using PSCS and I can't get the entire canvas to rotate 90 degrees or flip vertically or horizontally (see attached screen shot). In fact Edit>Transform is dimmed unless I Select All, but then I lose part of the image unless I stop, make a bigger canvas, select all, rotate and deselect. Another workaround is, I can make the background layer into an O layer and then I can flip and rotate, but again,only the image moves, not the canvas. I used to be able to do it but not since I re-installed PSCS.

Or some other convenient way to freely turn the canvas, allowing me to draw with my tablet comfortably.I want to rotate the image as a whole, without actually rotating/changing the picture, as you would rotate a sheet of paper. I dont want to have to click through all the windows everytime i want to free rotate the canvas. I'm using a wacom tablet.
I was sitting here using PSCS4 and I noticed that as I was rotating the canvas I no longer had that huge compass rose appear. I rather like it this way. I don't know if I hit something or if there is just a graphical updating glitch going on. But, is there a way to turn the compass rose on/off? If not, Adobe definitely needs to implement this along with the ability to make it smaller, or more translucent,

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've Recently updated to Photoshop CC on windows 8, and I'm getting a really bad flicker whenever I use it (it feels like I'm having a seizure). I have seen on various forums as well as in the offical Adobe section that this is an issue. The recommended solution was to reduce graphic processing setting to basic. I did but nothing has changed. I also read that people had turned graphic processing off completly, this also didn't work.
I'm am using a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 in a Dell xps.
I'm rather puzzled with what happened to my Photoshop, i'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 on a Windows 7 64 bit Notebook.when i'm in the office, it's docked at its station and connect to a larger monitor (via standard VGA plug on the dock) and i use both monitor (not closing the lid on the notebook) today, i had a spare monitor around that i can use, i plug it through the Displayport plug on the dock, it's all working fine, all three monitor display the desktop.
but when i load up photoshop, making new files or opening existing files, there is nothing in the screen although the layer panel shows there is something there.when i unplug the new monitor, everything back to normal.
My questions is this: What should I do cut down the almost frozen status of my computer when Im working with gigantic canvas sizes AND 300DPI?
the project in question is a 6 foot x 3 foot banner, that will be printed out, so the DPI has gotta be 300.....
but when im doing the simplest things, paint bucketing, using the paintbrush, it "loads" for a good few minutes for each move... at this rate, Im going to finish sometime 2 years after the deadline.
So, I use the clone stamp and have my selection floating on my screen. My question is... how do I rotate it using the keyboard? I've done this before but cannot remember the keys.

This has happened when I have dropped items onto my canvas and am moving them around, as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis function is working properly in os x, however on windows when I right click within the canvas I only get a list of all the layers under the mouse,historically since as far back as I can remember since photoshop had layers (rev 3.0 in 1995?) when you right click in windows within the canvas, you get a list of all the layers under your mouse, with the uppermost layer highlighted for easy identification and location of the contents of your layers. I've run all patches and updates and have even uninstalled/re-installed CS6.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me crazy, Rotate Canvas tool seems to be buggy as S*&T. I have read this can be Open GL Issue. My graphics cards are supported " ATI Radeon HD 5770 " this is an adobe issue as it comes and goes, the same files will allow and then 5 min later refuse to rotate saying that I need to have open GL.
I have set the prefernces on normal basic and advanced and there seems to be no consistency it works and then it doesn't
I am really getting tired of trying to figure out why... using CS6 from the creative suite...
I just got the Intuos5 and it works well except for the pen pressure feature for varying brush size or opacity. I can't get either to work. I have the latest driver, I think (where is the driver located on the Mac in OSX 10.6.8?). The tablet is attached directly to my iMac. I've sent two message to Wacom tech support and they don't respond. how I can get this working?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a pressure sensitve tablet (wacom intuos5 medium).
I want to set it up so I can practice "charcoal drawing" in photoshop without the mess. Specifically, I want the pressure to control the darkness of the brush tool, from very faint to completely black.
So, in the brushes window, I enabled "other dynamics" and set the flow control to pen pressure. It works but not very well. It's hard to draw a faint line, and faint lines appear to be made up of discrete circles.
I also try linking the opacity to the pen pressure, and set flow to 100%. This work better for faint lines, but I'm unable to draw a completely black line. It seems the opacity maxed out at about 40%. I don't want to apply too much pressure lest I break the tablet.
I got Photoshop CS6 Extended recently, but the lines I draw in it aren't smooth, like they should be (example below). The tablet produces perfect lines in any other bit of software (Flash, ToonBoom, etc.), but not Photoshop.
I've tried lots of different solutions (uninstalling and reinstalling it, reverting back to an earlier driver, clearing preferences, etc.), to no avail. Oddly, my Intuos3 works fine in Photoshop, for a few minutes, before it crashes. If I try to adjust the Wacom Tablet Properties for CS6, it doesn't recognize any changes, but if I adjust the settings for Photoshop CS4, it does. All Wacom Drivers are up-to-date.

i have tried gimp 2.8.0, 2.8.2 and the same problem with the new one (2.8.4), same problem aswell with gimp 2.9 development builds. gimp 2.6 works fine with no screen tearing at all.

Did you get the driver from nvidia's Web site? Check for firmware anddriver updates first.Yes a bad move :P but i need to use some software that's not compatible with linux.

We are finalizing a monster PC build with all the bessl and whistles for our Marketing Director who lives by Adobe Creative Suite. We have installed CS6.My question is in regards to Wacom tablets ( which he has never used previousloy)
There is a BIG diffrence in price, and being a beginer tablet user (and me being WAY over budget.. As in I have more in his PC than I have in some servers..) What do I need to be aiming at? A bamboo or a new Intuos?
If I go bamboo I can get the largest, if I go Intuos I can go the smallest...What is the difference between the two different Wacom tablet series anywho?
PS.. I wanted to add that I am posting it here because as some of you can imagine, corp. doesn't get everything you graphic gurus want.. This designer at our office is a really neat person and has always wanted a tablet.. I want to surprise him with one tha I went back to the store after my first post and looked again and am beyond confused at the differences between the largest bamboo and smallest intuos5 besides the size difference..
I have seen several cases of MAX 2013's clone tool not working correctly in viewport canvas. It simply will not sample areas that you select. Same workflow in 2012 works fine. This error is seen on a variety of hardware running windows 7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Wacom Bamboo Capture, I'm on a Mac OSX 10.8.3, and I'm using GIMP 2.8.4.
The pen and tablet seem to work together fine, with pressure sensitivity and all, but when I attempt to use the gesture functions (such as rotation) GIMP doesn't respond.
I know the problem isn't with the hardware because the little "rotate icon" pops up when I do the gesture, it's just the way it is communicating with GIMP that is the problem.
I've recently updated my laptop to a Windows 8 however I am experiencing the screen blacking out/flickering when using Photoshop. I've changed the Drawing Mode in the Graphics Processor Settings to Basic as previously suggested on this site yet nothing has changed?
