I installed Photoshop CS6 Beta and I just removed it using the uninstaller under Applications/Utility/Adobe Installers/Adobe Photoshop uninstaller alias. I had to find it myself as the information on the Web is wrong. Obviously I am on a Mac (Lion 10.7.4), but now that it has been removed, I still have an Adobe Photoshop 6 Beta folder in Applications that was not removed. Do I just delete the folder or do I need to do something else?
I did find the Adobe Creative Cleaner Tool but I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 installed. Can I use the uninstaller tool and not damage the Elements installation? I just want to be sure before I jump. I do have a full, bootable backup of my installation just in case something goes wrong.
I have just a general question regarding "File Removal" of the Beta Programs.
In the past there would have been a "File Removal" app to go with the beta's after the expiration however there was no app this year, (our expiration was May 31st). any associated problems with removing the beta's "Manually" this year?
There seems to be an update available for PS CS6 but I keep getting the message:"Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6.. Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M1P28".
I checked the FAQs and found general instructions which presume there is an entry in W7 Programs & Features. There is no entry in my system, and I found no Uninstall app in any Adobe CS6 folder.
Recently the updater on my version of CS2 started telling me that there was no internet connection, and to check my firewall and connections. Having recently installed a new firewall I spent some time checking that out, together with various other pieces of protective software. Despite ensuring that the CS2 applications (including the updater EXE) had the necessary permissions, I still wasn't able to automatically access the Adobe updates.
After puzzling for a day or so, I checked back on installations and changes to my PC over the previous couple of weeks, and realised that I'd started to try out Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3, at about the same time as I'd installed the new firewall. After removing the IE7 update, and returning to IE6, the Adobe updater started to function again.
I did a quick search to see if anyone else had posted regarding this, but couldn't find anything, so thought I let you know in case anyone else is thinking of installing Beta 3. I have emailed Microsoft to make them aware.
I'm unable to install Adobe CS3, CS4 on Windows 7 Beta x64. When I open "Setup.exe" - Windows shows error window "Adobe Setup has stopped working" and offers me to send more info about this problem. How to install it?
Using Ps CS5 12.04 on win7x64, 12GB, Radeon 6780 1GB, dual HDD and dual monitors since last Oct when I bought this new PC and its always been fine with openGL even with extensions added and dual monitors in workspace setup.Still worked same most of the time while I also had CS6 Ps beta installed and running...CS6 always ran openGL et al in advanced mode just fine.
But when beta ended I uninstalled CS6 beta (correctly following Adobe advice)...and now CS5 does not run openGL...unless I reset prefs (ctr+alt+shift) at startup...then it runs fine. I can even switch to my custom user workspace and it continues just fine (except certain prefs are now reset...like second hard drive use and mouse wheel zoom etc.) until I close Ps.
But when I close and restart Ps for next session; the setup starts as left but openGL not running again. It is a repeatable startup cycle if I want the advantages of openGL.
I tried deleting/turning off all (2) extensions except Kuhler (may have to try that) (I have no plugins in x64). Made no difference.
I am starting to have system instability....BSOD 0x00000024 / 0x0000001E, warm boots before the login screen, and weird behavior like the NTFS file system not working ( causing corrupt saves ), superfetch shutting down, Photoshop minimizing - maximising then windows shutting down........Odd
A virus is not out of the question but before I reformat etc I was wondering if the Beta Wacom drivers has caused any issues on other systems. Looking at the reliability records the graph is pointing downward exactly at and after the date I installed the drivers.
Just troubleshooting....

Is this happening with anyone else? I am running Bridge and it is WAAAAY slow, sometimes 15 seconds to bring up an image from the film strip view. Tagged a couple with a green tag and it's taking forever. Nothing like cs2 that runs great.
Also, right after I installed CS3, I found "mDNSResponder.exe" on my hard drive.
When I have a PSD file, and try to save it, It will now let me save it as an JPG, CS5 did. Even after flattening the image, I often find it does not work instead of saving it as JGP as wanted, it PS changes it to IMG.
I have just had the same trouble trying to save to PDF, PS changed the extension to JPF, I eventually found a work around, jut kept ging down the list of files, until PS decided to add the PDF extension I was after.
I have tried to completely remove CS6 and re install it, no difference.
Generally, i think the new crop tool is pretty good. However, i'm having some problems with predefined sizes / areas.Let me try to explain:
1. For example, I have a scanned image that is 26.14 x 20.32 cm @300ppi 2. I have defined a size called 'Half Page' which is 23.5 x 15.5 cm @300ppi
Now, what i would expect is that: 1. The moment i open the scanned image, click the crop tool and select the 'Half Page' setting, the crop boundaries would show up up at the correct setting in terms of size and resolution. 2. I should then have a window within which i could move the image to get the parts i want into the crop box.
This is not happening: 1. The crop size (box) is showing as 23.5 x 15.5. 2. The info is showing as 26.14 x 17.24 3. The image size is showing the same and @ 300ppi.
I've just installed the CS3 beta on my Intel Mac. Everything is fine except...
I can't get my Canoscan 9900F to work. When I select File > Import, it should list the ScanGear 8.2 Twain driver but it doesn't.
I've manually placed the plugin in the CS > Plugins folder, and I've used the ScanGear installer to do the same. The plug in is there in the Finder, but doesn't load.
When I look at the system info from within CS3 (Help > System Info...) right at the bottom of the log is the message: Installed TWAIN devices: NONE.
It's hard to believe that TWAIN would be disabled in the beta.
I still cannot open RAW files shot by Nikon D800 in Photoshop, even with ACR RC 6.7 installed or even Photoshop CS 6 beta. Some seem to have succeeded by installing ACR RC 6.7.
I'm having trouble with applying curves. I import a PDF and try to apply curves to it. After I open up curves and change the settings, I see the live preview on the PDF, but when I press OK to save changes, it goes back to the original PDF as if none of the changes were saved.
I also tried applying curves as a new adjustment layer, and that appears to make the changes stick. But if I resave the PDF or print it out, it still comes out looking like it did before the changes I made.
Lastly, I tried adding curves adjustment layers, and then merging all the layers, or flattening the image. In both cases, the PDF went back to what it looked like originally.
Unfortunately I attempted to uninstall my CS6 beta by dragging the app to the trash, then emptying the trash bin. Now the install disk for CS6 still sends an error message and says there is a beta version of CS6 on the disk and won't install the real CS6.
I installed Photoshop CS6 beta on my Mac, OS 10.6.8. Once I purchased and went to install CS6, the installer informed me to uninstall the beta version of Photoshop, but didn't say how, or that there was a catch. I went and uninstalled Photoshop CS6 beta by dragging it to the trash. OOPS! - now the release version won't install, and I can't find anything on the Adobe website other than private messages from Adobe employees to specific users with the same problem as to how to rectify the issue.
Aside from venting my frustration at a situation I (and others have found ourselves in that could have been prevented by a little better planning and installer design.
I have taken the opportunity to try Lightoom 4 beta but have decided to stay with CS6 when it arrives, I cannot see any way to remove the program from a Mac, in the aplications folder where lightroom is there seems to be no uninstall option, I have tried to drag it to the trash but that does not work, I want a lean machine for when CS6 arrives so a Gb of HD space would be worth having.

While it looks like there have been some great updates in the forthcoming version, I'm surprised to not see mention of any new slideshow functionality. LR3 was very disappointing in this regard only letting you use one song and also no ability to apply ken burns type effects etc. Am I missing something or did Adobe really not make any changes to that module?
I imported over 200 pics into LR 4.1 earlier today. I then noticed that I still had a Beta 4 folder in my directory, so I deleted the folder since I'm using the full and laterst version of the software. When I tried to relaunch LR though I was asked to select a catalog, so I selected a file called "Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat." LR opened but the catalog was empty...none of my pictures were there! Fortunately, I hadn't emptied my trash and was able to retrieve the Beta 4 catalog, which is what LR 4 was looking for and, in fact, contains all of my pictures. So, I'm back in business but it seems strange that I'm still using an outdated version. I'd like to use the new catalog but don't want to lose all of my pictures.
When I press F for Full Screen and then the fwd. slash to see before/after nothing happens. Is this normal, if so it would be nice to see before and after in full screen.
Working on a Mac pro dual core with 16 g ram. Was last working on an image in develop module when I closed the app. On relaunching it opens to the image I was working on, shows the little box that says loading then the program freezes and I get the very loved spinning beach ball of color. Have to force quit. Have restarted computer and so far have the same problem every time I try to relaunch. I have about 20 images in the library. All was working well prior with just a little slowness in response with adjustment sliders.
I've been testing LR 5 Beta since it came out and have found it to be very stable. I'd like to switch my main workflow over to it. I back up every night to two different drives (one internal drive in my Mac Pro, and one external drive), and I also have an automated off-site back-up service. I'm not worried about data loss.
But how do I do this? In the past I've waited until the full release when LR 5 would just upgrade my catalog. Can I just open my LR 4 catalog in LR 5 and upgrade it?
After I installed Bryen Weeler preset , something happened with all my images . If I want to work with or look at a picture it changes to a B/W image with out my intention. This happened when i installed Bryen Weelers presets. I have about 12 000 pictures that is turning into B/W images.
I am trying out lightroom 5 beta and the basic adjustmentsin the develop bar have disappeared (everything before the tonal curve). Am I missing something obvious here...did I hide them somehow?
