I have never had issues processing Nikon's raw file format in CS3 previously, however I recently purchased a newer camera (D3100) and can no longer use this function. I have updated to the latest version of Camera Raw available for CS3 and it did not work. Am I correct in assuming that my camera is too new for this older version of photoshop? Is there a work around to enable me to process my raw files or is it an impossibility without upgrading?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit. I saw an item that suggested going into Explorer and clicking "show hidden files and folders": I clicked that and then restarted the computer. No change in behavior.

I've left the import up for more than 5 minutes (someone mentioned that LR4 is slow): I never got the import done.Â
Â
When I click the "X" at the end of the import thermometer, I get a message (in that location) that the import is canceled. The display in the main window (where the image would appear) still says "importing files". I have to quit LR4 and start it up again to do anything else.
Â
I was previously using LR3.6, that used to work fine. I tried going back to LR3.6 to import some files I recently shot: now LR3.6 does the same thing as LR4 (hangs when I try to import Nikon Electronic Format files).Â
How can you format or resize the photos as wide screen format so they will display in wide screen mode on Sony photo frame players?

Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.

It was all right before I re-installed everything on my new disk and worked perfectly so the systems are compatible with the raw files.

The product descriptions for ACR and DNG converter says it should support the D4 files. I have clients to send pics to asap and this issue is costing my money.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis discussion is actually a follow on to an earlier one where I thought the issue was resolved. I am using CS5 extended 64 bit with WIN 7 64bit and ACR version 6.7.
I verified the ACR version checking for updates and was informed I am up to date. According to the ADOBE site ACR v 6.7 is available to open Nikon D800e raw files. However when I try and open these raw files there is a message that the camera model is not supported.
I have photoshop cs5 and can´t use camera raw (6.5) for nikon d800e.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Nikon D7000. Most of the pictures I make are RAWs (NEF). I work often with my own camera-profiles (landscape, vivid, portrait, etc.). One of these profiles is black & white with a touch of sepia. Now, when I open it with PS, the picture is coloured, not B/W. And I can´t find a way how to convert it exactly to the same JPG or TIF like the RAW picture. In the PS-RAW-menue there are only the standard profiles, not mine. Is there a possibility to load my profiles?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am planning to buy a Nikon D800e, and I am told that NEF files from this model are not supported with ACR and CS5. Is this correct and is there a workaround?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having an issue with files from my D800 when opening them in Photoshop CS6. I should note that this issue has never been a problem with any other camera that I have owned and used with CS6 (D3200, D7000, D80, Kodak Pro SLR N, Hasselblad H3D).
Â
When attempting to open a number of files, ONLY from the D800, I seem to be limited to 10 or 11 files max. Once it loads that quantity I get an error message that it is out of resources. I had chalked it up to the tif files that I typically work with being 16-bit files at a little over 200MB each just being too large to open in any higher quantity.
Â
Last evening I shot a graduation party for a friend and had inadvertently set the camera to shoot "basic" (lowest possible quality) jpg's at a file size of about 3MB each (still 7830 X 4912px). When I tried to load them into photoshop to do some dust clean-up and a few minor tweaks I was surprised to find that it still would only open 10 files before giving me the same error message.
Â
how you may have adjusted settings in either the camera or in CS6 to resolve this issue. Again, it has never been an issue with any other camera I have used, and the Hassy is 39MP so file size shouldn't be the problem. It seems to be something in conflict between photoshop and files from that specific camera. To further elaborate and head off the next question, yes, this seems to happen with other D800's as well as I have rented a couple of others while this one was at Nikon for warranty repair and those cameras had the same issue with CS6.
After I reinstalled my harddisk and my CS3, Bridge and PS will not open the RAW files from my Nikon D90. Wgat do I do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I use Adboe 7.0 with Nikon coolscan IV 3.0 software I run into a problem (it does not occur all the time). I will scan from 5-50 slides and then when I am done I close the Nikon scanner and it closes Adobe as well.
I can reboot turn on the scanner before opening Adobe and sometimes that works or sometimes I open Adobe and then turn on the scanner and that works sometimes. Is there a patch? or am I just trying too hard?
I shoot with Nikons which in the RAW format create what they call NEF files.
When I try to open them , I get the following message:
" Could not open .NEF becasue of a program error "
I have determined that if go to the Open file I can get it open, provided I know the exact dimensions of the image, but this is slow and cumbersome.
How can I set it up so that the images simply open in the NEF format?
