View 1 Replies View RelatedIt looks like a thumbnail in center of layer with the box thing around it...And the paper I'm placing on is 12x12 or 3600x3600px.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI there to all. Still GNU at PS.
I have three jpegs, not necessarily the same size/res. Here are the particlulars:
1) Bush, 600x914 @ 300 dpi,
2) Borat, 1024x799 @ 300 dpi,
3) Moore, 1172x778 @ 150 dpi.
I would like to place these images so that GW is between our pals. All three pics have different backgounds (caps from DVD etc).
So, ideally, I'd like to have all three images on the same (i.e. a new or different background - perhaps CLOUDS). I have a weird sense of humor.
The reason for this is that I am compiling a "Funky" movie with vids from news shows with bush, video caps from Farenheight and Borat. The images are being used as thumbnails for chapters, while the composite will be a splash screen for the begining and background for the main menu. Just something to amuze me..
I realize that there will be some differences once the images are all merged and I am more that willing to play and play and play. Just need somewhere to start.
When opening several images in photoshop CS4 I would the images to float on screen, that is to say not to place the images stacked. I currently have to go to window in the menu and select float all in window every time. Can a default be selected that opens them and displays them floating.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to ultimately place some metadata such as lens focal length, time of day, exposure etc. onto an image. This could be an action that perform on each image. But it would be nice if it was automatic.
The result being to have a jpg file with this information in the corner of the image for myself and my client's reference. I can't seem to find either a plugin, action or script that will do this for me. These are simply proof / scouting shots. I would be just as happy doing this in Lightroom as well.Â
I have created an assembly with multiple views to show the multiple configurations of our products. However, half way down the line I realized I had forgotten to place a component. When I placed the component, I found that it had been placed in all the views automatically. Is there a way to select the views to place the components in or to prevent the component from being placed in any of the custom views except the default view?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a "dump assembly" of assemblies to create cut lists. I throw in multiple copies of each assembly for the job. Sometimes it can be 100 or so of each. These are not placed in any way and could be all placed at the origin. This is only for the parts list and servers no other function.Â
Any way to place multiple instances of an assembly at once?Â
I have a PDF file with 25 pages that I need to get into the form of an Illustrator file with 25 layers. I found the example of opening a particular page of a PDF file (using CS6), and that works. And I can create layers. But I can't figure out how to place a particular page of a PDF file into the new layer. Where/how do I provide the page info?
Â
(I have a PostScript program that generates artwork for signs that are to be laser etched at the TechShop. The laser interface uses Illustrator and a special Print driver. I notice that opening a page from a PDF file positions the contents slightly differently than placing that page, when I do it manually, so I figured I'd create the multilayered Illustrator file by opening one page (which works) then placing all the pages in their own layers, then deleting the first page. Then the positioning will be consistent. But I'm stuck at placing a PDF page...)

tell application "Adobe Illustrator" to activate
-- This function opens the file passed as
-- a file reference parameter, at page myPage.
-- fileToOpen is a reference to a multi-page PDF file
-- and needs to be set up before calling this function.
on openMultipageFile(fileToOpen, myPage)
tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
set user interaction level to never interact

I made the background of an object (single color symbol) transparent, then re-sized it. I then added a transparent layer to another image, with the idea of placing the symbol onto that layer. I tried to move the symbol, but that didn't work. I copied the symbol image and tried to paste it onto the layer. It pasted, but all I got was a transparent rectangle that matched the size of the symbol image.

or how i apply one layer style to multiple layers is also ok...
I've been using Photoshop to create a series of web pages. I have about 20 such pages right now.Unfortunately, I need to change the navigation menu that is found on all 20 pages.
Â
To make these changes, do I need to change 20 different files? Or is there a way to link one layer group to multiple PSD files so that editing it once results in it changing on all 20 pages?
I am creating shadows for a large file, so my opacity is set to 50%. When I copy and paste shadows (such as or multiple windows to save time) they paste back at 100%. I have to constantly flip layers and change, and its very tedious. Plus, when I get to the point of flattening them all, if they are not all at 100% then whatever opacity they are at BECOMES 100%, so I cant change it again later.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if someone can please show me how to use multiple layer masks in an image? For example..I would like to do a curves adjustment layer and also only add contrast to a certain part of the image.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 5 images [in PSCS2] I want to subtly blend. I dont have the skills [yet] to get it right. I know how to make a layer mask, the eraser, how to use the lasso with feathering etc but I just cant get it right. What i want is to have one image dissolve [progressive transparency] into the next, not just a bland erasing of the sections, which is all i seem to be able to do.
I've attached 2 frames - one with the original images unprocessed and my attempt at merging in frame 2. I'm nothappy with it. I want some of the images to be moved closer together and have much more partial transparency smoothly merging these images....
I have a web page and weekly I upload multiple Images. Like 300 or more.
The problem is that I have to put down each picture the watermark, The web page name.
How can I make on a quick step to ad the layer to all the images on the same place?
i want to have some shapes in one layer in order to control the bledning options all together!

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to preserve text when exporting /saving a file from Acrobat.?
I've been trying in vain through numerous settings to find a way to open a pdf document in Photshop that preserves the text information. (ie a vector based workable text on it's own layer)
My original text tests (created in Acrobat) consist of a few sentences..yet all i've been able to get is the unworkable rasterized text on the transparent layer.
I'm certain there must be a way.. either a setting when opening/importing the file or saving the original in Acrobat.
working on Layers and Layer Mask to obtain see through multiple Layers effect.Below is the description of my problem that I am looking forward towards resolution in this forum. I will be glad if some expert can guide me on this.
Â
I have three layers of different colors as below.
Layer 1topmost layer) with Red color filled rectangle.Layer 2(below Layer 1) with Green color filled rectangle.Layer 3(bottom most layer, below Layer 2) with Blue color filled rectangle. When I erase something with brush on Layer 1 using masking Layer 1, it hollows the erased part and start showing the Green color of Layer 2 in hollow section of Layer 1.
Â
What I want to achieve is that, when I erase Layer 1 using layer mask, then it should hollow Layer 1 as well as Layer 2 and should show Blue color in the hollow section of Layer 1.i.e: Hollow section made on Layer 1(using Layer Mask on Layer 1) should also be applied on Layer 2 so that Layer 1 and Layer 2 becomes hollow using eraser and I should see through Layer 1 and Layer 2 and Blue color of Layer 3 should be visible from the hollow section.
Â
Though I can do this by Flattening Layer 1 and Layer 2 together so that it forms one single Image, and then when I hollow this Flattened image using Layer Mask, then it will show me Blue color. But I do not want to do this, as I would lose the flexibility to unhollow/recover the hollow region on both Layer 1 and Layer 2 independently in the future.
Is this possible with some keyboard shortcut? Seems like that should be possible...
View 2 Replies View RelatedPS CS6 .I have two items on a top layer (lets say the left and rights of a pair of earrings), and their accompannying shadows on a layer below. I'd like to be able to highlight both layers, draw a marquee around the right side earring (top layer) and shadow (bottom layer), and CDM+SHIFT+J them each to their own new layers, thus making four layers: left earring, left shadow, right earring, right shadow. This doesn't currently work,?
On a related note, one slow down to doing each layer at a time is that the command: CMD+SHIFT+D, to renew the last selection, only works sporadically for me (sometimes it simply doesn't renew any selection at all). What are the rules for when it should work and when it shouldn't?
It seems that it not able to make several paths on a single layer and then turn each path into it's own "clipping path " rather than just an outline path...Is this correct or am I doing something wrong ? I have 3 pieces of silverware on a background and want to outline each one separately then turn that path into a clipping path to move it to another file...I am able to make any one of them a clipping path , but not the others.

For instance I've needed to overlay several shapes with a gradient, however I don't want the gradient to start and stop on each shape individually as if I set the style on each shape, I want the gradient to go across all layers as if they were one shape all together.
