View 1 RepliesIs there a way to preserve text when exporting /saving a file from Acrobat.?
I've been trying in vain through numerous settings to find a way to open a pdf document in Photshop that preserves the text information. (ie a vector based workable text on it's own layer)
My original text tests (created in Acrobat) consist of a few sentences..yet all i've been able to get is the unworkable rasterized text on the transparent layer.
I'm certain there must be a way.. either a setting when opening/importing the file or saving the original in Acrobat.
I'm sure there's a Photsohop equalivaent to this After Effects behavior, but I'm unsure how to do it.
Â
I can have have a layer on top that uses the transparency of all layers beneath to control it's own transparency.
Â
Is there a way to do this in Photoshop without using layer or group masks?
i wish to define a selection, which can be altered while preserving it's area.
for instance, assuming the selection is 6x4 (an area of 24), then any of the following selection box holds: 1x24, 2x12, 3x8, 4x6, 8x3, 12x2, 24x1.
is there any way to achieve it?
I recently upgraded from PS7 to SC3 Extended and am not completely familiar with it yet. I colour my line-art in Photoshop, and in order to do that the way I like to I have the "Preserve Transparency" button selected which is normally under the "Layers" tab but is annoyingly not there. Does anyone know how to re-include that option into the tab,

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an animated GIF that I'd like to insert into a regular PSD file that I'm using as the background. The GIF is a foreground object. Another way to phrase my task is that I'm trying to add a static background to an animated GIF. How should I do this in order to preserve the animation?
Â
What I've tried to do is insert the animated GIF into a smart object in the PSD file but I can't get it to preserve the animation, even after making sure all the frames are copied.
PS CS6 and Win7/64...We just finished shooting a 3 day conference for 600 people, that involved many break-out sessions. Our folder tree of all the finished TIFFs is organized by day, then by topic, and then by break out. All in all there are 75 folders in the tree, with close to 700 TIFFs.
Â
The client wants both hi-res and lo-res JPGs (not the TIFFs).I have a very simple droplet that will convert a TIFF to JPG, but works only on a given folder, and outputs to a generic folder (so I have to copy these back).Â
Â
Is there a way to create a droplet that will
(a) walk the source tree and convert the TIFFs of each folder to JPG, as well as
(b) Have PS create a matching tree to deposit the JPGs into the corresponding folders?
Â
I know there's an option to include all folders when doing the conversion, but (b) is the critical element so I don't have to do this in a folder-by-folder basis.
I purchased this resume template online and had no problems saving it as a Photoshop PDF file with the original file.
Â
But once I made my own changes to the resume template, as seen below I kept getting the "I keep getting the error "Preserve photoshop editing capabilities" is incompatitable with earlier versions of Phootshop. In earlier versions, you must open the PDF as a Generic PDF (not as a Photoshop PDF)" whenever I save my file as a Photoshop PDF.
Â
I'm using Photoshop CS6 on a Macbook Retina Display. I made sure I checked the "Layers" in the "Saved As" dialog, so not sure why its causing my Photoshop PDF files to look faint.
My system: Win XP, PS CS2
I want to know: Can I place a psd-file in another file completely with its still edible layers?
what is the easiest way to remove gray shadows from my picture and to preserve the handwriting at the same time? I have a lot of pictures like this so I need to use your procedure in batch.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am a Creative Cloud member, and have downloaded all of the products and they are all up to date currently. The issue I have is, I see all these people using a new resampling setting called "Preserve Details". They go Image ------>  Image Size, and then the window pops up. Now their window already looks different then mine. Mine looks like it did in CS4, theirs has an image preview inside the window, plus they have another resampling option available to them. Why doesn't my have this option?
Â
I have tried to upload an image to show you what I mean, but I am unable to upload via my computer, and yes it is the correct size (>450 pxs wide by >500 pixels tall, 131 KB).
I have Photoshop 10.0 (Windows XP) and use it to edit my photos from my new Nikon D300 camera. I create and maintain my images in JPG format. My D300 includes 40 to 50 camera info/metadata elements including the camera and lens settings at the time the photo is taken.
When I do a simple "Save As" in Photoshop 10 to a new JPG file (whether image adjustments are done to the source image or not), the new JPG file is stripped of about half or more of the original metadata. Is there a Photoshop setting or plug-in that will force the software to preserve/retain the original metadata?
I use photoshop 7.0, and got a custom font somehwere along the line itc american typewriter... not sure if it came with a plugin or what. I don't see it in the windows font folder, and can't seem to find it. I really need to keep this font to reinstall it when I reinstall photoshop, since it's used in one of my sites..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have designed a brochure for a friend but the Printers say there is an issue with the saturation on the black.
The saturation I have done is apparently 400% but should be under 300%.
I assume the brochures are being digitally printed as opposed to traditional methods.
My questions are:
How do I find out what the saturation of the black is ?
....and how do I change the black saturation without changing the saturartion on the rest of the colours ?
I go to use the Hue/Saturation Editor thing, Photoshop messes up on me. It goes to the eyedropper tool, the "X" in the top right corner goes faded, so that I can't click on it, but I can select colors on the picture (with the eyedropper) and on the little 2 color pallete thing in the bottom left corner, where it displays the foreground and background color. I can switch them, with the arrow, but nothing else, i can't switch layers, I can't select any other tools, or anything. Can someone help me with this? Also, this might help, I was following a tutorial that required me to change some sort of properties... a link to the tutorial is below; If you download the .PSD file, a warning box pops up on photoshop when you try and open it...
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I modify a jpeg and save it as Save for web and devices, the next time I open the same document, it gives an extra (15-17) saturation to it.I can't figure out why. I watched Lynda's Photoshop videos and probably we saved something there,
View 2 Replies View RelatedI made myself a graphic, currently it is black and white, and I would like to add colour to it. Now when I want to go to (Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation) it is inactive, meaning I can't click on it. Well I can click but nothing comes up of course.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI usually use FW for my styles-based graphics (menubars, text effects), but have recently begun to experiment with PS.
However, I've noticed that when applying a style to text (Baltic Sea Ice, for example), even after I rasterize the text layer, I am still unable to alter the color by changing the hue / saturation in order to match a precise color scheme. Is there another way to do this?
Import scanned JPG, trace over lines, make colour mask, then just fill in appropriate colours.
Now my next step would be to use hue/saturation to make all the shadows and shading etc, but the hue saturation option is grayed out on the menu
I have an image that I want to lighten one color. I choose "color range" and select the color and it has dotted lines around it. Then, I want to play with that color or area of the image and try different saturations or colors. BUT, when I try that, the main layer with the image is not selected. So no changes are registered..... just the layer for hue/saturation is highlighted so I can't do anything to change this color. Seems that, automatically, the NON IMAGE layer becomes the only one I can work with when I select hue/saturation...
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I save for web, I get a weird de-saturation in my image and I have never come across this before. This weekend I tried to save an image to be optimized, and it came out all digitized and looking like crap. So I wanted to go back and save it at the higher setting.
Now, there is no pixilation, but my colors are muted.
The bottom image is what it SHOULD look like, and the top image is what saves when I save for web.
I created this effect in photoshop cs2 awhile ago and cannot remember how I did it. Does somebody know how to create this effect?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am after a way to highlight the most SATURATED areas of an image.
I know that 'Threshold' will highlight the darkest areas, but they may not necessary be the most saturated.
way to get a gradient effect similar to the hue/saturation effect, so if i wanted to use an eye to do this, i can have 2 different colours fading into eachother to make say a blueish green eye.
i would just kind of like a gradient colour overlay of it
i would like to apply it to this image
I have been running CS4 for about five months. There have been problems - speed, stability - but here is a new one. Out of the blue, selecting the Hue-Saturation panel eithe rthrough the menu or by keystroke brings up the eyedropper - functioning - but essentially crashes Photoshop. It goes on running - you get 'blind' menues - but it is impossible to switch the eydropper off and you consequently have to close CS4 from Windows. I have rebooted, it still happens.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I adjust the hue and saturation on a image (big adjustments like + 60 on sat, + 10 on hue) and click OK the colors revert back to about 15%, or less, of what I raised them to.
1. This only happens on a particular image that I scanned in.
2. This did not happen on the first few prints of this image (didn’t save settings, etc., so I had to redo the next time - a few days later). And it doesn't happen on any of my other images (non-scans).
I've tried reloading it from the CD that I burned and starting over, but it does the same thing.
(Using Photoshop 7 and trying to print with an Epson 2200.)
I have a scan of a couple-hundred year old document. The background is light brown due to age. How can I best make the browned areas white and preserve/improve the black type? Getting a white background by playing with levels, brightness / contrast seems to result in worse black type.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor quite a while I have been using the Photoshop HDR for initial processing of my HDR shots. My workflow is to "open in HDR Pro in Photoshop" from Lightroom. With LR 3.x and CS5 there was no problem - make the initial tonemapping settings in CS5, hit "OK", and save the resultant TIF back to lightroom for further processing.
Â
With LR 4.1 I do the same thing, the files import into CS6 and the tonemapping window comes up, but after I hit OK in the tonemapping window, the resultant tonemapped TIF file is oversaturated(This still in CS6). It needs about 30 points of saturation reduction in LR to get it back to what it showed in the tonemapping window.
Â
I have colour gamut set for Pro Photo RGB in both LR and PS. I can show some screen captures later.
Id like to know if its possible to make own hue/saturaiton colour. What I mean by this is we get an option for red, yellow, greens etc etc.
But lets say we have an image over clusted with brown, and we would like to have that option to reduce the browness in an image. so Is there a way
we can make our custom colour? Like the example below this guys face has a brownish colour to it, and with the colour picker I get a #b56b3e which seems related to the brown colour family.so Id like to make that #b56b3e into a colour of my Hue / Saturation. so I have the option in the drop down menu.
discovered the pleasures of Edit>Convert to Profile command. When I convert to a new profile (I have belatedly discovered paper profiles) from adobe RGB to Hahnelmule Photorag to be precise there is a loss of saturation I am having trouble recovering. I will avoid this problem by starting with the correct profile however I have a lot of work in the wrong profile. To keep things simple I have flattened the image.
