I have been running CS4 for about five months. There have been problems - speed, stability - but here is a new one. Out of the blue, selecting the Hue-Saturation panel eithe rthrough the menu or by keystroke brings up the eyedropper - functioning - but essentially crashes Photoshop. It goes on running - you get 'blind' menues - but it is impossible to switch the eydropper off and you consequently have to close CS4 from Windows. I have rebooted, it still happens.
as the place I work at recently upgraded their PS version to CS6 and basically rendered my Intuos 4 completely useless because of the damn Alt/Ctrl modifier, which seems to control the "drag to create a copy of the layer function" regardless of the tool you're using.  It might be specific for my region, but Alt+Ctrl or Alt Gr modifer is used in order to reach certain keystokes, such as ], [, @, so when by default the brush size function on my wacom is linked to a "[" (alt+ctrl+f windows function), my tablet completely flips out and starts sending a mix of Alt, Ctrl and Alt + Ctrl function controls instead of the [ which I'm trying to use.  Alt + w/e functions work just fine, but I can't use any modifer using the alt+ctrl+w/e combo that involves creating a symbol, even while using the keyboard. For example, I can use the alt+ctrl+z command to undo something, but if I linked my brush tool to a "§", which is invoked by calling the alt+ctrl+m windows command, it will act as a normal ctrl + m command and open the curves window.
I don't know what happened when i opened my autocad it looks like the image below Untitled.jpg
also if i will right click on the drawing space, nothing happens, but below or in the command window, i can, also for example i drew a line, and i want to redo, the "CTRL" function using ctrl+Z is disabled, what happened with this one?
I have designed a brochure for a friend but the Printers say there is an issue with the saturation on the black.
The saturation I have done is apparently 400% but should be under 300%. I assume the brochures are being digitally printed as opposed to traditional methods.
My questions are:
How do I find out what the saturation of the black is ? ....and how do I change the black saturation without changing the saturartion on the rest of the colours ?
I go to use the Hue/Saturation Editor thing, Photoshop messes up on me. It goes to the eyedropper tool, the "X" in the top right corner goes faded, so that I can't click on it, but I can select colors on the picture (with the eyedropper) and on the little 2 color pallete thing in the bottom left corner, where it displays the foreground and background color. I can switch them, with the arrow, but nothing else, i can't switch layers, I can't select any other tools, or anything. Can someone help me with this? Also, this might help, I was following a tutorial that required me to change some sort of properties... a link to the tutorial is below; If you download the .PSD file, a warning box pops up on photoshop when you try and open it...
When I modify a jpeg and save it as Save for web and devices, the next time I open the same document, it gives an extra (15-17) saturation to it.I can't figure out why. I watched Lynda's Photoshop videos and probably we saved something there,
Using photoshop, I found this shortcut really helpful, especially when I just started learning layer masks. Then all of a sudden it stops working! I can't do this action anymore unless I go to EditStep Backward.
I made myself a graphic, currently it is black and white, and I would like to add colour to it. Now when I want to go to (Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation) it is inactive, meaning I can't click on it. Well I can click but nothing comes up of course.
I usually use FW for my styles-based graphics (menubars, text effects), but have recently begun to experiment with PS.
However, I've noticed that when applying a style to text (Baltic Sea Ice, for example), even after I rasterize the text layer, I am still unable to alter the color by changing the hue / saturation in order to match a precise color scheme. Is there another way to do this?
I have an image that I want to lighten one color. I choose "color range" and select the color and it has dotted lines around it. Then, I want to play with that color or area of the image and try different saturations or colors. BUT, when I try that, the main layer with the image is not selected. So no changes are registered..... just the layer for hue/saturation is highlighted so I can't do anything to change this color. Seems that, automatically, the NON IMAGE layer becomes the only one I can work with when I select hue/saturation...
When I save for web, I get a weird de-saturation in my image and I have never come across this before. This weekend I tried to save an image to be optimized, and it came out all digitized and looking like crap. So I wanted to go back and save it at the higher setting.
Now, there is no pixilation, but my colors are muted.
The bottom image is what it SHOULD look like, and the top image is what saves when I save for web.
way to get a gradient effect similar to the hue/saturation effect, so if i wanted to use an eye to do this, i can have 2 different colours fading into eachother to make say a blueish green eye.
i would just kind of like a gradient colour overlay of it
When I adjust the hue and saturation on a image (big adjustments like + 60 on sat, + 10 on hue) and click OK the colors revert back to about 15%, or less, of what I raised them to.
1. This only happens on a particular image that I scanned in.
2. This did not happen on the first few prints of this image (didn’t save settings, etc., so I had to redo the next time - a few days later). And it doesn't happen on any of my other images (non-scans).
I've tried reloading it from the CD that I burned and starting over, but it does the same thing.
(Using Photoshop 7 and trying to print with an Epson 2200.)
Is there a to access the Alt key screen functions (the quick Eyedrop, (holding Alt and click the color) and the Zoom in and Zoom out (holding alt alt and scrolling with the mouse wheel) with other key instead of alt, for instance the Ctrl key? Â It is really annoying to me to deal with it, because in my shortcut configuration I use the keys "Q" and "W" to increace and decrease the size of the brush and the keys "A" and "S" to increase and decrease the hardness of the brush. What happens is that when I hold Alt to pick a color or to zoom, it calls the menu bar's shortcuts (it underlines the menu shortcuts) , so If I do so and press "S" it calls the Select menu, which is not what I'm trying to do. Â In Gimp, the pick a color and zoom in and zoom out actions are configured to work with the Ctrl key instead of Alt, so the shortcut menus are not an issue. Is there anyway to switch it to Ctrl? Is there anyway to make the Alt stop calling the menu bar?
The issue I'm having is that, while using [URL] (ArtBee's 3D Box PSD), I cannot save the smart layer.
[URL] Â Basically, as per the documentation instructions I'm supposed to press "Ctrl +F10" to render the 2 smart layers onto the projected box. Problem is, when I do it, nothing happens. Â I've done it on CS6 with no problems, it's only after switching to CC that I cannot save.
While working in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. performing ctrl+V launches PhotoShop. Repeatedly. This is in no way desirable. How do I disable the ctrl+v/PhotoShop relationship when not using PhotoShop?
In previous versions of PS I could just move the crop area around freely, rotating and resizing it. But now it seems it always snaps to is default position and I need to keep the CTRL-key pressed if I want to move it around without snapping.
When i press Ctrl+D in ps6 to change my background and foreground
to black and white it does the white part right but it gives a combination 75+45+35+100 to give black and each time i have to change manually to get black .
I was trying to make a selection using the magnetic lasso tool and every time I get about half way done my screen goes blank. I can hit enter and return to the original screen but then ive lost my selection. I have used other tools to make a selection and have not had problems, only with the magnetic lasso tool does this happen.
I installed the other day Photoshop CS2.After a while working with it i wanted to select a layer but s the Ctrl+click command didn't do nothing. Anybody knows if there is another shortcut to do this?
For quite a while I have been using the Photoshop HDR for initial processing of my HDR shots. My workflow is to "open in HDR Pro in Photoshop" from Lightroom. With LR 3.x and CS5 there was no problem - make the initial tonemapping settings in CS5, hit "OK", and save the resultant TIF back to lightroom for further processing. Â With LR 4.1 I do the same thing, the files import into CS6 and the tonemapping window comes up, but after I hit OK in the tonemapping window, the resultant tonemapped TIF file is oversaturated(This still in CS6). It needs about 30 points of saturation reduction in LR to get it back to what it showed in the tonemapping window. Â I have colour gamut set for Pro Photo RGB in both LR and PS. I can show some screen captures later.
Id like to know if its possible to make own hue/saturaiton colour. What I mean by this is we get an option for red, yellow, greens etc etc.
But lets say we have an image over clusted with brown, and we would like to have that option to reduce the browness in an image. so Is there a way
we can make our custom colour? Like the example below this guys face has a brownish colour to it, and with the colour picker I get a #b56b3e which seems related to the brown colour family.so Id like to make that #b56b3e into a colour of my Hue / Saturation. so I have the option in the drop down menu.
discovered the pleasures of Edit>Convert to Profile command. When I convert to a new profile (I have belatedly discovered paper profiles) from adobe RGB to Hahnelmule Photorag to be precise there is a loss of saturation I am having trouble recovering. I will avoid this problem by starting with the correct profile however I have a lot of work in the wrong profile. To keep things simple I have flattened the image.
I am trying to create one of those images where you desaturate all the color out of an image and leave only a few select "highlight" components in color for effect... so I go to the layer, click on the "Create new fill or adjustment layer" button at the bottom of the layers panel (next to create mask), and use the Hue/Saturation option, then desaturate the setting, then paint bucket the layer to black, and then use a white brush to wipe out the colors in the areas that I want. It seems like it does it fine, but the thing is, it doesnt desaturate 100%. This has happened in another "desaturate" process (cant remember what it was exactly). It seems to take out the color but there is still definitely some brownish or whatever hue in there.. it shows as such when I use an eyedropper to check the "new color," and when I turn the image into grayscale, it defintely is different.  So why can tthe white brush desaturate the colors 100% There must be some other setting I am missing?
Using a Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer: Â 1. Do you ideally want to go through and adjust Reds, Yellows, greens, Cyans, Magentas individually? Are final results not as good if you just adjust the Master by itself? 2. Looking at my imgage, I do not see any blues, however, when I adjust the hue slide while having blue selected, I see some slight changes to my image. I'm guessing that this means that there are some slight blues in the image.
Would you just leave the blues alone in a situation like this, or is there some graph that you use to make changes even if you do not see the colors in the actual image?
I'm in class and the teacher just showed us Selective Color. I usually use Hue Saturation to enhance colors or color correction. Is there a diffence between the two tools?
Does photoshop have the option to not see the lasso?
I have selected a section in my photo that i would like to adjust the color of, But I want to be able to adjust the Hue Saturation without the lasso in the picture. Is their an option to mak it not visable while I am adjusting.
