Photoshop :: Photos Changing Upon Export From CS3 To LR3

Jul 11, 2012

My workflow goes like this:

I use LR3 to apply adjustments, occasionally a preset from say VSCO. While in LR I use, PHOTO > EDIT This photo in - PHOTOSHOP

I do my edits, ADD NOISE, SHARPEN....

Then PHOTO > SAVE AS.....

I save the photo to my external...

Here is the issue, when I re-open LR the photo is then present in my Catalog and there in LR to be viewed.... from here I export the final size for web etc and I am done

QUESTION IS:  The photo that is now within my LR catalog is missing the NOISE I am added completely, and the SHARPENING is gone, or much less sharp then the photo I have saved in PS.

Photoshop :: Why CS6 Save To Web Changing Photos Back To 300 DPI

Apr 8, 2013

I run an action to prepare my photos for FB, 500px, Photo.net, etc., which reduces image size 960 x ?, 8-bit, sRGB, and 72 dpi. I then sharpen and add copyright info. However, when I use "Save to Web" it reduces the size of the photo and strips metadata for faster loading but reverts back to a 300 dpi resolution.

Lightroom :: Color Changing On Export

Feb 16, 2012

I am using LR 3.6 and have imported several RAW images.  In some of these images, there is a bright blue background that looks great in LR.  When I export to JPEG using the sRGB color space, however, it turns a sickly purple-blue that looks terrible.  I've tried exporting to JPEG with sRGB, AdobeRGB (1998), and ProPhoto RGB color spaces.  When I use the AdobeRGB (1998) color space the JPEG looks better than the sRGB equivelant, but still not as brilliant as in LR.  When I use the ProPhoto RGB color space, the JPEGs look the same as they do in LR (which is what I want).  If I export them all using ProPhoto RGB color space, will the exported JPEGs look much different on the web than they do on my desktop?  What are the risks of exporting in the ProPhoto RGB as opposed to sRGB?

Photoshop :: Export Contact Sheet To Individual Photos

Jan 17, 2013

I have contact sheet(s) of 12 (3x4) photos. I want to automate the export of these to individual photos - I don't care about the loss of resolution and I understand that I can't get back to the original high-resolution photo.

They are pretty simple - thumbnail profile photos with captions on a gray background. I don't care about the captions - I can add those by hand later using copy/paste. What I do care about is getting individual photos. It should be simple to programmatically (or using a PS plugin or filter, or Bridge) to export these. However I can't seem to figure it out.

Lightroom :: Changing Camera Profile For More Photos

Feb 2, 2013

I'm shooting with a Nikon D3s and always had the problem that the imported photos went a few stops darker when they were imported in Lightroom. I figured out that I get better results when I change the camera profile from Adobe Standard to Camera Neutral (which probably equals my setting on my camera)

So how can change this setting for the rest of my already imported stock and how can make this the default setting for my future photo imports?

GIMP :: Transparent Layer Changing To Black Instead Of White After Export

Sep 8, 2011

I sell a template that has a transparent layer in sections, after saving as jpeg it is supposed to go white, but for some of my customers it recently started going black!I at first thought it had to do with not pasting the layers correctly, but its like this after export, so I don't think that should matter...I've attached a sample image so you can see what is happening. Where it is black, it was originally transparent around the circle image, and normally would save white.

Lightroom :: Changing Export Location When Using Publish Services To Hard Drive?

Apr 25, 2013

I work for a distribution company that sells 15+ product lines. For almost every product, they have a photograph. I was asked to set up a system whereby a number of sales representatives could access these photographs in an organized fashion from their own computers. This is how I have set things up: A media computer (backed up onto an external hard drive) has all the raw files. In lightroom I have set up two publish services to hard drive. The export location for these two publish services was an external drive that was accessible throughout the company network. Unfortunately, while I was gone, the external drive was changed over to a cloud-based system. As such, the export location for my publish services no longer exists.

Of course, I could go and re-create the publish services, but unfortunately that would be an incredibly laborious process because each publish service has 10 or so sets with 2-4 levels of folders amounting to several hundred folders that would need to be re-created. Moreover, because of the complexity of the system, I made them all smart-folders with specified attributes, etc. So re-creating all these folders would take a whole lot of time.

So, I was wondering if there is any lightroom wiz out there who knows a work-around for my issue.

Now, I did do some digging already and I came across this article: [URL]   which outlines a method for changing the export location! However, as far as I can tell, I would still have to change the export location of each folder manually, which would basically be just as complex and confusing as recreating the publish service anyways. Am I correct in this thinking, or using this method is there a "root" folder than I can change, which will change every other folder?

Lightroom :: Export Photos In V5?

Mar 20, 2014

I am working on a team of 3 photographers. And when we go to events, we syncronize our cameras in date and time so we can work easly in the editing stage. But the problem that I´ve encountered is that when I edit my photos in my lightroom and then export them, and then import them again with everyone´s pictures in the same lightroom, mine don´t mix, don´t syncronize with the times and dates of the other pictures and also, my red tags and stars don´t appear. And this is making us waste so much time, because the moments of a wedding for example, dont match and we have to order them manually...

Lightroom :: V4.4 Won't Export Any Photos

Apr 18, 2013

I'm running Windows 8 and for some odd reason I'm not able to export anything from Lightroom. When I try to press the export button from any location it will just freeze up. There are no error messages or anything, it just freezes. It was working fine before and I don't think I changed any export settings or anything and it just randomly stopped exporting. I always have to kill it off now with task manager. I had the problem in 4.3 randomly yesterday and then I upgraded to 4.4 and I still have the same problem. I made a new catergoy and that still didn't work. I'm still able to edit photos and such but its just the export feature that isn't working from what I know.

Lightroom :: How To Export Deleted Photos

Aug 6, 2013

I have a batch of photos that were imported in Lr, edited, and exported with a watermark. I then deleted the original file. Well, the pictures still show up in my photo strip in Lr, but it won't let me export it because it's saying the "file is missing or offline". I know I deleted these photos and have no way of retrieving them. Question is: Since I can still view them in Lightroom, is there any way to export them now? Even if I have to open in another program and save them, I don't care. I just need these photos w/o the watermark.

Lightroom :: How To Export Raw Photos As JPEGs

Jan 2, 2012

I am having trouble when I use Lightroom 3 and I try to export my raw photos as jpegs. I require the Jpegs so I may send them on the web to either friends, or, to a company like istock. When I view the jpegs, they are often too red in color (this is seen in landscapes but is especially noticed in peoples skin tone...which often makes them look sunburnt or unrealistic) and they do not match my raw photos (often these are processed in CS5 and I view all photos on my Hp LP2475w monitor). Note that both LR and CS5 have been updated to the most current versions. I also calibrate my monitor with a Spyder 3. Naturally, I have tried to individually correct this color shift for each photo, but it can be a most laborious chore and it never looks quite right.

Lightroom :: How To Export Photos Same Sequence

Dec 13, 2013

I have collected a number of archival photos that are scanned from various sources. Obviously- when they are scanned the date of origination is the date they were scanned not the actual date the photo was taken. I can remedy this in the 'edit capture time' feature. But there are thousand of photos and this is time consuming and often a guess. So, sometimes being lazy I forget. However, Lightroom allows me to arrange photos in a specific order. So for the sake of this discussion I can arrange histroical images in what I believe is the best the chronological order. Now I want to export these files without scrambing the order in which they are arranged. Not all the dates may be accurate so I don't want to rely on that feature. I want to export the photos in the sequence in which they are arranged. It might be as simple as adding a prefix 1-filename, 2-filename, etc. I've attempted exporting several times in the past but invariably it arranges everything by an alphanumeric sort.
