I am contemplating getting a pen and tablet. As I am merely learning at this point, I can't see paying a great deal for a tablet just yet. I have been seeing alot on the Wacom tablets as they seem to be the most prominant. However, I would like to have one that has a decent sized work area and the Wacom is around $300 for a roughly 6x8.
View 3 RepliesIs there a way I can install a zxp file for all users of a machine, rather than just the user who is currently logged on? I think they only install for the currently logged on user, but most users dont have admin rights on the PCs so they can't install stuff anyway.

View 5 Replies View Relatedknow the logic behind the fact that PS7 users can't upgrade to CS4? I can't believe that Adobe doesn't have the IT knowledge to enable CS4 to be backwards compatible. One person suggested that I upgrade to CS2 or CS3 and then upgrade again to CS4. That will, of course, save me some money, but why on earth should I have to do that - it's still expensive?

However, with Photoshop CC, it is asking her to purchase a Photoshop CC subscription. Is there any way she can just use Photoshop CC from her account on my laptop?
We're a college and we're having trouble with Photoshop CS6 opening for 4 [at the moment] individual users. The error follows them from mac to mac, but another ue can log on after them and everything works fine, so it must somehow be linked to their profiles, but we've reset/deleted these and it's made no difference. I've attached screenshots of the 4 error messages they get. because at the moment these students cannot do their work properly?

Specifically, we want to put a frame border around the edges of a photo, but the choices of frames don't show up for one user, but they do for the other (who has computer administrator privileges). Even if I set the language to Korean, the application menu commands work, for example, Cmd+T. As for Tool menu commands, it only works in English setting. So, I have to switch the language setting first every moment.
After editing 100+ images in bridge I save the files as DNG for the magazines I work for, it's only just come to my attention that for them to alter the exposure/contrast they must convert the image to 5.5 which means losing the adjustments I've already made. It's time wasting for both of us.
I tried using the different options under 'compatibility' of saving for camera raw 2.4 and later (4.1, 4.6, 5.4, 6.6) not sure how to use the custom area. I'd consider using the previous version just on these jobs but I'm not even sure how to do that.
when i unload my camera into my catalog adobe photoshop on my user screen my wife is unable to view the pics. is there a way where i can share the pics among everyone?i should say that when she looks on them they have red 'x' on them and can't find the file but if you change to whose ever user screen i downloaded the pcs on they are fine pictures vista

I Installed Elements and added a few photo's to a folder in the root of the hdd, and tinkered a little. Discovered that the auto-created catalog was buried in the user/username path, not appropriate for multiple users, I thought.
So backed up catalog to external drive, then restored it to the folder that I'd previously added the photos to, viz HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog. This works absolutely fine for me, as I set it up.
When the other user starts Elements and goes Catalog Managent and browse to Other Locations: HD/ALL PHOTOS/ and is able to select 'My Catalog' and Open. She then gets the message "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt or the version is out of date"
Both usaers have R&W permissions. Both users are definately pointing at HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog.

I built op my catalog, creating events, tagging people etc. Now I would like my girlfriend to also use this catalog. (I can build up a new catalog but then I lose all the events, tags etc).
I put the pictures and catalog in a shared directory but I can't find a way to make Photoshop use my catalog when I go to my girls friend's account. How can I do this?

I'm on a mac and I'm trying to run the photoshop script "Layer Comps to Files" - which works fine .... UNLESS I'm connected to an SMB network drive with "users" in the path.
NOTE: I am not trying to save to the network drive!
NOTE: Each test I'm doing is exactly the same (other than which network drive is connected)
NOTE: Just having the network drive connected with "Users" in the path messes things up!
eg.
Script does NOT run if I have an SMB drive connected with "Users" in the path, e.g.: [URL]...As soon as I disconnect the SMB drive (I don't even have to close photoshop) the script runs perfectly fine.The script also runs FINE with other SMB network drives withOUT "users" in the path, e.g.:[URL]...
I found this thread from 2010 (which has never been resolved but is inconveniently read-only now) has the same issue with CS4 and it still isn't fixed in CS6:[URL]...
I have an issue where 2 users need to work in an .idw file on sepearate pages, however it appears that not all the changes carry over whenr the repective users save and update.

Text and lines will be in place,and legible on one screen and saved as. when the other user opens the file, some of the text shifts from left to right.
Everything in model space is fine, its just the layout space where this occurs.

I'm installing Lightroom 5 in a classroom of Macs with OS X 10.9. When another user logs on a to computer and starts Lightroom, Lightroom welcome screen pops up again and asks for country, and in next screen displays the serial number Lightroom was activated with. After pressing OK the user can proceed to use Lightroom. How to avoid the welcome screen from appearing to all users? Obviously we can't have the serial number leaking out to public like this. Luckily this came up while testing the installation.
The registration file seems to be in a correct location (/Library/Application support/Adobe/Lightroom/Lightroom 5.0 Registration)
We have about 10,000 + personal photos. Can I install the LR Database on my server so that my wife and I can both be adding metatags to the photos at the same time ? I don't mind if I have to buy 2 copies, but I am more concerned about sharing the database.

I realise that there is a reg edit for "defaultFormatForSave" which can be changed to "48" but when a user first runs AutoCAD LT the setting is overwritten.

You know how a magic wand allows users to set a tolerance and select accordingly.
Well this usually works well for most people's purposes but what if the object concerned has a shadow or highlight effect that would fall through the cracks and require more editing.
What I was thinking here is that it would be very useful to be able to not only set tolerances for the tool but also set a 'border' variable in pixels. Hence it would be much easier to extract that text or object with its shadows intact (and requiring less retouching work)
Any way to prevent an end user from changing the aspect ratio of an image - in this case, a company logo? I've looked into the possibility of using 'shared' files which updates edits made from multiple users but so far a solution has proved elusive. The only thing I found is called CadVault, but I don't think this does what I would like.
I got the idea from using shared Excel documents and it seems to work well, and IMO, CAD is the typical kind of application that requires this kind of manipulation, but I've never worked for a company that uses such a method. I'm baffled by the lack of information / support for this, unless I'm overlooking something.
I have a number of wildlife photographs that I would like to make available to staff for field identifications. They do not have access of LightRoom or CS5. Is there a plug-in or other software that can capture the key words and EXIF data and make it available thru MS Access or Excell?

I would like to store all the photos on a Drobo NAS, keeping the catalog on a desktop. Then create a mirror image sync of the catalog on different computers using chronosync.Users will not be accessing the ctalogs simultaneously.
