Photoshop :: PS CS Exporting Inaccurate Colors

Apr 11, 2005

I've been noticing in PS CS that when i SFW (save for web) or just plain 'save as' the colors always end up a bit lighter than the original. I have no idea what is going on, i've never played with the settings so I'm not sure what changed, and i thought it might have been the color modes (mode = RGB, working proof setup = cmyk) but nothing seems to make a difference. It could be that the document mode is RGB and i'm working in a proof setup of CMYK, but I don't know enough to tell. I would play with it some more, but I don't know what is default and what isn't. Its really a pain to have inaccurate colors when exporting, especially when working with gradients or light colors, where they are subtle already.

CorelDRAW X6 :: Colors And Exporting For Web

May 10, 2013

I recently created a logo for a website in coreldraw. It was a black and yellow taxi sign. When I exported to png 24, and put it online, it did not look quite black, more like a bit brownish actually. Opened it in photoshop and sure enough, instead of #000000 my black is now #373435 ...

I need it to remain black. I made sure I chose black, and it looks black in CD, but again, export to png 24 and it's no longer black.

Illustrator :: Exporting PDF Colors Look Washed Out?

Sep 26, 2013

I recently started working with the new adobe cc programs. I haven't encountered these problems before. I have created everything using CMYK and used no images. I checked the colors in InDesign CC and the colors looked washed out as well. I checked overprint view and the colors don't change in Illustrator.

The left is a screenshot of Illustrator and the right is a screenshot of PDF.

Adobe CC uses synced color profiles so the colors should be the same across all adobe products right?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Losing Brightness Of Colors When Exporting To Web For PNG

Dec 16, 2011

I recently just got the X5 version of Corel.  I have been having problems holding the brightness of my colors when I export to web in a png format.  All of my colors look dingy compared to my original drawing.  I found a good black on my 256 shades of gray palette that looks the same after you export.  Is there a color palette that will hold the brightness of the colors better than the rest when exporting for png?  Or is there a better way to get my drawing as a transparent background and keep my colors bright?

Photoshop :: Inaccurate Rulers

Nov 7, 2006

I'm running CS2, and when i open a document of any type the size of the image isn't accurate. For example: when i open an image of 800x600 pixels and set the magnification to 100%, i should easily be able to see the whole image on my screen, however i can only see a small section of it. To view the whole picture i have to reduce the magnification to 25%.

When i look at the rulers at 100% magnification an inch for example displays as more like 2 inches.

I'm using a 20" monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050 so there shouldn't be a problem viewing these images at 100%

Photoshop :: Inaccurate Marquee Tool

Apr 2, 2012

I've recently upgraded from Photoshop cs3 to cs5.1 and have noticed that the marquee tool's selection is not as accurate as I'd like. For something simple like drawing a selection around a square I could previously do this down to the exact pixel with a single click and drag. My process (while working at 100%) now goes like this:

i) Choose which bit of the cursor I place in the top left of the square to trace (I use the black inner lines)

ii) Click and begin dragging and see that the selection in the top left is now 1 pixel down and 1 pixel to the right of where I clicked.

iii) Drag the selection to the bottom right of the square and align the inner lines of the crosshair

iv) Release the mouse button. The top left corner now springs back into the originally clicked position (good). The bottom right corner now jumps up to 2 pixels up and 2 pixels left of the actual corner.

I am left trying to approximate how far past my object corner I overshoot in order for it to be correct when it 'jumps' back. It feels as though I'm getting similar selection errors as if I was working at a random image zoom such as 337%

Jumping problem is the same if 'snap' is turned on or off...The problem occurs at 100% and is marginally improved at 200% - although I can't get an accurate selection in 10 attempts. Also in cs3 the Marquee tool's crosshair was 1 pixel thick and now in cs5.1 it is 3 pixels thick due to the white outline around it, I find this harder to use and unable to switch off.Selecting cursors 'precise' in preferences doesn't fix it

Photoshop :: Move Tool Is Very Inaccurate When Selecting Object

May 15, 2013

there's an invisible 10px border around each object/shape. it's so frustrating when i'm working on small icons or whatnot.i'll try and give an example the best i can... say i have two squares overlapping and are offset from each other by a 5px or so. if i want to select the back square, i'd normally... click on the part of the square i can see. in cs6, if i just click on the visible part of said square, it would select the front square. i have to click at least 10px out from the back square to select it.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Inaccurate Export To Bitmap

Mar 28, 2011

I have a bunch of objects on a CorelDraw page that together make up a button for a web page. I select all the objects: the toolbar tells me that the selection is 281px x 59px.

I press Export, selected only, the preview comes up. My button suddenly is 283px x 61px. Looking closely I can see a faint border around the actual button image.

What setting do I have to change to make it export what I tell him and not what he thinks?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Inaccurate Grading Volumes

Aug 29, 2012

I have noticed that the value I get when I use the surface volume comparison tool or look at a graded item in the grading group properties box is different than if I calculate it by hand and the discrepancy isn't even consistant.  After spotting this problem in a job I am working on graded two simple ponds to check this.  The first one is 100' x 100' and 5' deep w/ 2:1 side slopes.  Calculating the volume by hand I get 1500 cu. yds but the grading group properties come up to 1506.17 cu. yds.  The accuracy is off by less than 0.5%  The second pond is 100' x 100' and 2' deep with 3:1 side slopes.  The hand calc gets me 654.52 cu. yds. and the grading group properties reads 655 cu. yds.  This discrepancy is closer to 7%. I really need to know if I can trust the volume tools in the program.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: EPS Export - Inaccurate File

Jul 16, 2012

I try to export an illustration to eps with bounding box.  When I import this e.g. with ghostscript, I get an error output like this:

GPL Ghostscript 9.05 (2012-02-08)Copyright (C) 2010 Artifex Software, Inc.  All rights reserved. This software comes with NO WARRANTY: see the file PUBLIC for details.Displaying DSC file C:/Users/thomas/Documents/Konferenzen/ROSE2012/Grafiken/square.epsDisplaying page 1Error: /undefined in 1,00Operand stack:Execution stack:   %interp_exit   .runexec2   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   2   %stopped_push   --nostringval.
[code]....

The problem seems to be at line "1,00 setflat".

I am using CSG X4 (SP2+hotfix) on a Win7 (32Bit) machine. I tried the following to figure out the problem:- varying export settings- using different programs to import (Ghostscript, Acrobat, CorelDraw)- trying complete re-install of CGS X4- changing the computer using the same version of CGS It seems that the eps export interferes with some system settings or installed printer drivers, but I am not able to isolate the problem. I would expect that the export filter is self-contained.

I tried to reproduce the problem with minimal content. The difference between the produced eps files may isolate the problem. A simple cdr-file, the produced eps-files and a snapshot of the used settings are in the zip-file located at URL....I assume that the eps files are built up from different resources but I cannot locate the involved files.

Revit :: Paint Tool Giving Inaccurate SF On Schedules

May 22, 2013

I am working on a project doing cost estimating and product specification for interiors.  First project ever using Revit!

In my "Wall Finish Schedule" I need to show the finish material, the Area (SF) and cost.  For tile on the wall I have created basic walls which works great. For my painted walls I used the split face tool and applied the material with the paint tool.  Double checking the SF calculations for the applied paint - they are incorrect and seem to calculate the whole wall instead of the split area with material applied.

What is the best solution to properly apply wall materials so they schedule properly?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Vector To Bitmap Conversion Inaccurate

Nov 2, 2012

I'd like to create a vector graphic with precise object size and placement so that when I import into PhotoPaint I get a precise conversion.

For example (use no outlines):

make a black square 10mm in diameter create 9 colored squares 2mm in diameter placed 1mm from the edge of the black square and 1 mm from each other copy all your squares paste into photopaint setting size to 10 pixels square and turning anti-alias off what you get is not what you drew in corel draw

Here's my example as a vector:

and as a bitmap:

So the squares are completely the wrong size - 1 pixel larger than they should be and in the wrong position!

Interestingly if you import the same vector as a bitmap 100 pixels square it looks better - however you'll notice that the colored squares are, in fact, 21 pixels square and not 20!

The conversion process seems to make every object larger by one pixel in each dimension - not useful. I should note that this effect happens in X5 as well.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Frame Generator - Inaccurate Insertion Point Error?

Aug 8, 2013

I've been using Frame Generator for at least 4 years and have not seen this issue before. Maybe I "bumped" a setting somewhere or a number changed in a default setting somehow, but lately when I insert a square tube frame piece into an assembly, it seems to be not accurate in it's placement.

Example: If I make a simple cube part that measures 28.0" wide and

Insert some frame generated square tubing on the edges of the cube, the frame measures 27.999999992 in - slightly off from where I inserted it. This seems to repeat without fail in every new assembly.

Photoshop :: CS5 Paint Bucket Colors Do Not Match Selected Color Picker Colors

Jun 28, 2012

I recently installed CS5 on my laptop after first removing it from my previous machine. All licences were validated so no problems there. Now when using paint bucket in Photoshop, the colors that I select in the color picker are not the colors that result when I use the paint bucket.

If I create a new black canvas then the colors selected in color picker work with paint bucket. But if I attempt to recolor the background in an existing image that I import into Photoshop, I get the mismatch with colors when I use paint bucket. My method for selecting colors is the same in each case, I select 'set foreground color' and set the color using html values entry at the bottom of the panel.

Photoshop :: Colors In Print Preview Not Matching Colors In Soft Proofing

Jul 7, 2013

Just wanted to print a new photo and realized that the colors in print preview do not match the colors in soft proofing. In both cases I selected the same icc profile and rendering method. The print colors matched the colors in print preview. I never had a problem so far. All new prints will be checked with soft proofing and adjusted when necessary. I never paid attention to the color rendition in print preview and all prints perfectly matched the colors from the soft proofing. I was surprised when my print came out of the printer and the colors weren't matching the soft proofing colors, but that of the print preview.

I don't understand why Photoshop renders the colors differently in the first place. See attached screenshot for the difference in the blue/cyan colors. I don't care if the print view colors will match the print, but I do care when soft proofing is not working.

Example:

Layer 1 = Color 1
Layer 2 = Color 15
Layer 3 = Color 10
Etc.

I don't know a lot about lisp but I figure if I could find a lisp that did this I could plug in my layer/color assignments and it would work.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Colors 1-9 Appear As White - Colors 10-22 Are Wrong?

Dec 7, 2013

You can see in the attached screen cap that colors 1-9 appear as white on my screen and that colors 10-22 are not correct either. This is only occuring in one specific drawing.  Is there a preference that I switched somewhere that would make this happen? I have double checked that everything is ByLayer or ByColor that I can think of. If I insert this color chart into other drawings it looks fine. using C3D 2012.

I would just restart my drawing, however it is the new company template file that I have invested many hours into and would really like to be able to keep working with it and not start over.  Or is there a good way to import and overwrite all the Prospector settings into a blank drawing?
