Photoshop :: Opening Photograph In CS6 - Image Is Incomplete?
May 17, 2012
On opening a photograph in CS6, the image is incomplete.
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 (hope I'm not going to live to regret this), apart from the problems with installing plugins, when I open a file the image is incomplete with anything up to 25% of the image missing. If I create a duplicate background copy the problem is resolved. This is not satisfactory on software of this nature.
When opening a photograph in recently installed version of PSE11 they all appear oversaturated. I have checked all images in Canon DPP and Serif Photoplus 5 and they are fine.
PSE 11 was OK initially. The only changes I have made were to install a printer profile for my Canon Pixma IP4200 and calibrate my screen. However, printed images are fine.
I am looking to extract natural noise from a photographs material and create a black and white layer out of it, but I am new to photoshop and unsure how to proceed with this.
For example, here is a photograph of a hard plastic gun.
I have seen on forums where users will find a good reference image and use it to create a new black and white noise picture utilizing the reference.
For instance the hard plastic noise from the gun, might look like this once extracted and done correctly.
I have many photos of the busts/heads of statues that I would like to extract to follow the outline of the head/bust to then use to create a transparent .png file for use in graphics projects. Can PSP do this? How? I see that the default setting for a photograph is a single background layer; do you create a duplicate layer and then what?
way of opening images in CS2 where after opening they will appear in the middle of the CS screen rather then in the top left corner?
I can drag and maximize so they appear in the middle, but on reopening another image they default to the top left again, I would like them to always open in the middle?
I created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
An automatic update from Adobe failed on my computer this morning. Here's the message I got:
The update cannot be applied to the product. Please re-install the product and try again. Flash Lite 3 Update for Device Central CS3 failed to install.
In the CS3 family I only have Photoshop. I have the CS2 Suite and Lightroom 1.3.1 installed. Do I need to reinstall PS or LR to get the update?
I have Photoshop CS3 and when I open the brushes palette the only brush options I have is Master Diameter. Can anyone tell me how to turn the spacing and hardness options on?
When I try to open a large (98MG) tiff file in PhotoShop, I get the following message: "This file may be damaged (the file may be truncated or incomplete)." When I continue, the image appears with a blue line through it. I am, however, able to view the file using Microsoft Office Document Imaging, and the image is perfect.
I am not the most technically savvy lady so I might have made this issue worse.
After I first installed the Creative Cloud and downloaded Photoshop, I attempted to open the program and it said "file is incomplete or damaged".
I tried deleting it out of the applications in the side folder to re-install thinking it would get rid of it but the tab is still there. How do I delete Photoshop to re-install? Is that possible?
I found a solution to my objects being rendered incomplete by adjusting the perspective angle by a degree or two but this didn't solve my problem of the graphic map being incomplete.
Basically I'm making labels for different sized bottles (i.e. wine, beer and sake)the wine worked so far but for some reason this sake bottle's label wouldn't complete rendering.I dunno if it is because the side of the bottle is slightly angled or what but I cannot get it to complete the image map.
I upgraded to LR 5.3 RC .. as I have a D610 .. but i noticed that it does not offer the full list of profile that the D610 offers .. I use Camera Standard as that is what the default on the D610 is ...
I have one corridor with several baselines. I have asked it to generate a corridor surface but it has left out several baselines from the surface. I have ruled out assemblies. I am not sure what is going on. I am also unable to get feature lines from this portion of corridor as well. The corridor builds just fine and I can see what the daylight lines are etc. What's going on. Yes I have audited the drawing.
I am trying to produce a section view of a vessel. Inventor makes the section just fine except it is incomplete. See images below:
In the past when I have encountered this issue I would simply locate the part in the browser, Right click on it + Section Participation + section. That usually solves the issue. This time it is not working.
Right clicking on image in LR4, then selecting open with CS6. CS6 program starts fine, but no image? If I select CS5, it works fine.
Also, I tried a workaround, by exporting the file to my desktop (DNG). Right clicking on the image, and selecting CS6, again will not open the image? If I open CS6, then Menu>file>open, all files are greyed out until I select "all documents" in the enable menu?
I have saved a large image on a CD as a psd format. I cannot open it at all. I am using the same computer to open it (with photoshop on) that I used to save this image.
Am I buying the wrong type of CD that is, perhaps, too small to handle a large file such as this?
I know that I should have made the image smaller before saving it but I forgot.I now need to open it because that is the only archived sample that I have.
I am using the Mill&Overlay sub set to overlay an semetrical road and a crown offset of zero. I one file the crown point feature line has gaps in it and in another file it zig zags along the road.
I forgot to mention that the triangles and the cross section look as expected. trouble is I want the crown profile

MY workflow:I am opening up DXF files created by me with RASPLOT 2.5 and RASPLOT 3.0 (an Army Corp of Engineers Hyrdraulic model extraction program) I bring the DXFs into AutoCAD for better cleanup of the 2D graph it creates of flood profiles.
OBSERVATIONS:Others in my office have opened the same engineering models in RASPLOT and been able to bring DXFs into AutoCAD 2011/2012 in with no problem. It had worked for me in the past, but I can't recall what happened to all of a sudden make it not work, EVER. My co-workers can work with the RASPLOT DXFs in Windows XP and Windows 7.
ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS:-I upgraded my RASPLOT version first from 2.5 to 3.0, then upgraded my AutoCAD2011 to 2012. No change.
-If I create the DXF on my computer, then open it remotely from another computer's AutoCAD, I still get the same error message. (My only solution has been to create my DXF by remotely logging into another computer with RASPLOT then it will open in my computer's AutoCAD.)
- I tried changing the .dxf file path to .dwg but that doesn't work.
I had a client send in an ad in pdf format. When you look at the preview on the screen all the images are there, however when you open it in photoshop one the words disappears when I try to open it in CMYK mode (that's how it was saved). However, when I open it in RGB mode all the words are there, then I can convert it to CMYK. I'm just trying to figure out why it didn't show up in CMYK but works in RGB mode.

I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and CS5. Client used ID to place the ad on template. I have given all the info needed to aid in finding a reason to this. Could it be that the image was not flatten?
I have Photoshop CS4 Extended, and no matter what I do I can't open it without having the photo from the previous session loaded in the main window. Again, I just want to open PS without any images in memory. How do I do that?
Every time I open an image with my PS extenden edition CS6 the image is not completely shown, I have to or duplicate the layer (backgroud layer)or remove it out of background only than the image is completely displayed. see example
the problem is similar with files in RAW format (NIKON x.nef) see
I already reinstalled PS but dit not solve. Looking for updates on the product, no missing updates (it looks like I have the latest available version.
my cs5 has just started ofter using for 6 months to have a mesh over each image. when I go to view extras is ticked which I untick but when opening next image its there again. can I get rid ot this altogether or stop this happening.
