Has anyone had any feedback on the on line training? Adobe has 2 levels, they cost $60 (non refundable) But since I was given the photoshop, I figured I can pay for my self training if it's worth it.
I want to export an SVG file from illustrator, embed it in an HTML page and style it using CSS.
But when I name each layer in illustrator, it doesn't save them as classes but as IDs. How can I get the layers to be saved as classes instead?
I am creating custom classes that I need to save to the DWG file. I assume this is straightforward but have not found a way to do it. I'm using VB.NET but can work with C++ examples as well. Do I have to inherit from a DBObject class and override or is it possible to declare my own custom classes and somehow register them to DBObject?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a drawing that was originally created from an AutoCAD 2004 version, and I have since been working on it in AutoCAD 2013 student version. The drawing from autoCAD 2004 was of plans for a house and i saved them over to model them in autoCAD 2013.
I have since finished the model and tried to import the drawing into 3Ds max 3013 cersion and a message reading "ObjectDBX Classes" appears. I have read up about this and tried to download an AutoCAD 2004 ObjectDBX Classes Object enabler. I am unable to download this as I do not have a copy of AutoCAD 2004, this is only available at my work.
I only have AutoCAD 2013 and 3Ds max 2013 on my home computer, not at my work.
I have code that works on some computers but not on others, all running AutoCAD Civil3D 2010. The line of code that fails is: (set1 newldrstyle (vlax-invoke mldrdict 'addobject MLS_Name "AcDbMLeaderStyle"))
The error message is: Error: AutoCAD.Application: AcRxClassName entry is not in the system registry
I am assuming that the class name it cannot find is AcDbMLeaderStyle. On my computer (which runs the code successfully) I do have an entry for AcDbMLeaderStyle in the registry. I'll be at the site where the computers that cannot run the code are located tomorrow to check if they are perhaps missing this registry entry.
They have already tried both a repair install and an uninstall/reinstall, didn't fix the problem If it turns out that the AcDbMLeaderStyle entry is missing, is there a way to "re-register" the classes?
I am wondering how I could control multiple symbols using classes.
So lets say I have 10 symbols on the Stage - each symbol has a class of 'box'

only the first box will animate, not the other 9.

However, the MAP 3D feature classes (from Classification) are not listed here, nor can I find (Hoping I am overlooking it) a way of converting mapping them to the IM. Seems the only option is to redo the classification "defintion" effort again.
If this is the case, I am getting more the impression that Map3D is becomming a bunch of tools rather then a consistent framework supporting a step by step path from CAD to GIS to Industry Model type it is being marketed.

2. So ya that one was easy.. hows bout when i want to cut something out ACCURATELY, the pen function, right? (according to a friend)when i make all those little boxes and select the area i want to cut, all that gets copied are the outer lines, which i presume is what ive just drawn.. how do i cut the area inside this?
3. and finally maybe a slightly less easy one- In Paint, when you cut out an object and paste it, you can select for the white of the image to become transparent so you can paste over what you have already.. is thee a feature in PS for this?
I'm trying to use the line tool to draw a colored line, I draw the line via Line tool, it appears in grey, I right click>stroke path and select Pencil > OK, the line is still grey and not the foreground color. If I do the same with a Rectangle Tool, it works fine and darws me a nice colored rectangle. What am I doing wrong? This is driving me nuts...!!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the healing brush is tends to "skip". It leaves a line of circles like a stamp would instead of a flowing line like it should leave. No matter how slow I move the brush it leaves a circle and then as I continue to draw nothing happens until I reach the edge of the first circle, it then drops another circle and it continues that way as long as I draw with it. The brush tool works fine, leaves a smooth line. The Spot Healing and Patch Tool work fine but the healing brush will not heal in a smooth stroke. It skips along a leaves a tail of circles the size of the brush. I am using a fast computer, i7 processor, 16bg ram and a SSD drive so I do not think speed is an issue. I upgraded from CS4 where the healing brush worked fine on this computer

I now have a need to mirror about a line but the line is partially inside the object (so after mirroring the object would be overlapped). When I select both objects and try to create the mirror, the "axis" of the reflection is simply the edge of the object, not the line.
When the line was outside, that worked simply because when you selected both objects the line brought the outside of both selected objects to that point so it simply mirrored / reflected at that point (the line). So the line was not truly acting as a point of reflection. Hope that made sense.
I think I'm about to buy Cadtools from Macromonster but I would like to know if Draw has a way of acheiving this. Hey I may find out Cadtools can't reflect when the line is inside the object.
I'm trying to write a lisp routine to create a two line MLEADER but i can only get one line of text. Creating the MLEADER manually from the command line i just have to hit enter after the first line of text to add a second line. How would i do this in a lisp routine?

Our storm pipes are usually drawn with this so as to stand out from other utilities. If the pipe is represented by a polyline, I have usually adjusted the "Width" or "Global Width" value to my liking. With pipe objects, it seems more complicated. I have searched the settings, and the closest thing that I could find was the Lineweight property, but that appears to have no effect on the line thickness in the CAD drawing.
Do I need to tweak a plot setting? Make a new linetype altogether?
I needed to remove a feature line that I used as a break line when creating a surface. When I removed the feature line from the definition of the surface, the grading did not change. It appears the points created by the feature line remain which is why grading didn't change. The only work around was to delete these points.
I noticed the same thing happens when I removed the surface boundary and inserted a new boundary. why these points remain and how to remove when I delete boundary and feature line from surface?
I should be able to apply an effect to a line that has been made with the line tool. Why is this not working?I thought that maybe I might have disabled Effects somehow, but I can't think of anything.

Yes, i saw the command draw line at an angle but i find it a little bit complicated for a simple task like that. I am sure autodesk have a simplest solution about that.
If i am already at the draw line mode and i can easy catch the tracking perpendicular to previous segment but if i want to start from another line and go perpendicular i cannot make the tracking work.
We are creating a new company title block for the use in Inventor 2010 and AutoCAd 2010. It has initially been generated in Inventor and exported to AutoCAD. My problem is that all attributes that came over are now setup as multiline attributes and I can't seem to change them to single line. Therefore you have to open the multiline editor separately for every single item to make changes in lieu of just 'tabbing' through the values in the Enhanced Attribute Editor. This adds time and frustration and seems to be intolerable for some of my colleagues.
Is there a way to change the attributes to a single line in AutoCAD I'm just not aware of? I tried to find different settings for the export from Inventor but the options seem to be very limited.
I could probably go over this and create separate AutoCad only titleblock and border but that would kind of defeat the purpose.
I have feature line with elevations that represents bottom of ditch and want to go UP 3:1 slope. also i have edge of road feature line that is higher than ditch and want to go 2% down until it hits side of the ditch that is 3:1. Any easiest way in civil 3d to create intersection line between ditch bottom going up 3:1 and edge of road going down 2%?

I have a problem with a recently downloaded version of Inventor. When I start a new drawing all I get is a blank blue screen instead of one with a grid display. If I start a line I can see the cursor change to draw the line but a line does not appear. I don't know if it something with how I installed the program or just system settings.

This layer is styled so that all text is centered. In this case, FDO_LAYER2 is having it's text left aligned. I'm pretty sure this is due to the method I am using for a new line. Is there something else I can use to break the line and maintain the center styling?
Using a second point for FDO_LAYER2 is not an option.
Basically I got a process which is quite long , let's say 30 seconds.
I want put a counter at command line showing to
user how many objects has been processed so far. But I don't want to use New Line Feed to change the line and keep each new number at same line and same location of command line.
