I have CS5 installed on a desktop computer that crashed and I can't get it working to deactivate CS5. I am going to purchase a new desktop and would like to install CS5 on the new computer, but it was already installed on two computers (desktop and laptop) so no activations are left. I have the Disk and serial number.
I started a new computer with LR5, and it runs fine. But, when I imported my pics from a previous computer running LR4, all the pics loaded into the new LR without any tags or processing. How can I get that info without having ot reprocess thousands of pictures?
I had some difficulty with my initial installations of both Photoshop and Illustrator, where they would both hang very shortly after opening. I thought I had solved the issue by creating an new user account on my machine with administrator permissions, and logging in as that user to run the programs. Now both programs will launch, and Illustrator is working fine, but Photoshop will not save.
I am able to launch Photoshop and do whatever I like, but as soon as I save the program hangs. It does not complete the save. It will take me through any pertinent dialogs before saving, but then hangs. Task Manager says Photoshop is not responding. The only way out is to kill the program in Task Manager. This happens with both the Save and Save As commands, and it doesn't seem to matter where I save the file to. Interestingly, Save for Web works fine.
I am running Photoshop CS6 Version 13.0.1 x64 Extended on a Windows 7 (Home Premium, SP 1) laptop. Windows is fully updated.
My laptop specs are as follows:
Manufacturer & Model: Acer Aspire 5742 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz Installed Memory: 4.0 GB (3.68 usable) System Type: 64-bit
CS5 not loading after the computer wakes up from a few minutes sleep? I'm not sure how long this has been happening but a long time now.(probably ever since I got it, it's getting crazy frustrating now.
I have to force quit PS in order to use it on restart.(of program) I use a mac. OSX 10.7.2 it's been happening for the few os updates Any other Mac users hear of this as a problem or know the remedy?
I have been running Photoshop CS Version 8.0 under Vista for 5 months when all of a sudden I cannot finishing loading Photoshop. It hangs after displaying the message "Reading Text Global Resources...done". I uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop in another directory but it still hangs. Does anyone have a clue as to what could be the problem? Is it a Vista problem or is it an environmental problem? I have 4 gig of memory and 200 gig of free disk space. In a nutshell I cannot get Photoshop to finishing loading.
My Photoshop CS3 (Windows XP) all of a sudden takes over a minute to open any file. The programs starts fine, then when I select a file to open, the program pauses, then hangs for over a minute and the photoshop window becomes blank before the file finally appears.
When I resize any image in Photoshop, my PC hangs, so that I have to restart it. All other photoshop actions run quite slow compared to other applications. My PC has all the requirements required for Photoshop.
My PC details:
Windows XP: 256MB of RAM 20GB of available hard-disk space (C drive where photoshop is installed)
I can load an image, do some editing, but as soon as I try to save or save as, the save dialog box flashes on the screen for a fraction of a second, then disappears. Now you can't do anything, program hangs up. I try to end the program from windows, says it doesn't want to end because its waiting for a response from me. It seems like the save dialog box is getting hidden when it shouldn't.
When I use the text tool and type of the first character, photoshop hangs for a long time. When it comes back it will just hang again, the text tool is completely unusable for me.
I have CS6 on creative cloud on Win7 with Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64
I have been through all the steps here:[URL]...nothing corrupt was found. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop. I've start with ctrl+alt+shift to delete my preferences. I have updated in nvidia driver.
Nothing seems to work. I'm completely stuck. Luckily have CS5 on another machine but this machine with CS6 is a boat anchor at this point.
CS6 and text worked for fine for me for a while. Since it's been hanging it has fixed itself on occaison for a while, but it always starts hanging again and I can't get it to stop now.
I have a new installation of Photoshop CS4 running on Windows 7 in Bootcamp. I"ve applied the latest updates. The program hangs whenever I try to open a file or start a new one.
On Windows 7, PS CS6 64bits hangs onto a side of desktop and does not respond as it launches. No error messages. 32 bits works fine. PS5.5 64 bit works fine. Only the regular windows 7 updates (no driver updates or other program updates other than Adobe Acrobat Reader) have been installed since I installed PS CS6 extended.
Photoshop cs6 is hanging when tyring to save. Seems to pause at 83% and then takes over a minute to save the file. Computer details below and the system info. Gone back to using cs5.5 for now.

I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 a couple of days ago (jumped the Creative Cloud offer for existing customers) and ever since I've experienced several "hangs" when using the brush tool. In general I can work a few minutes with the brush before I notice that it isn't responding anymore, ie. it doesn't paint or erase or whatever it is I'm using it for. When this happens I can't access the gui anymore and all I have for cursor is the shape of the brush. After that the cursor will turn into that black and white spinning ring of dots and my only way to exit Photoshop is to force quit it.
This happens almost every time I use the brush. The OS X Lion installation is brand new, as is the Photoshop installation. No third party plugins installed (haven't had the time yet) and no third party fonts. I use a Wacom Intous 4 with latest drivers.
I've recorded a short video of what happens (13MB): URL....This is me working on a texture for a 3D model. I have a couple of layers and when the recording starts I am using a mask to blend two layers.
- At around 00:40 the brush stops working so I try to change tool by keyboard shortcut and then by clicking the tool palette. - At around 01:05 the spinning ring appears and by then I know that I have to force quit. - At around 01:50 I open up the Activity Monitor (although it can be tricky to read as the Photoshop document refuses to go to the background when the spinning ring appears) - At around 02:24 the brush starts working again but I still have the spinning ring and I still can't access anything in the menus or palettes.
I spend on a single brush session but I'm not sure. What I mean is that if I start brushing away and simply pause once in a while or lift the pen off the board to start a new stroke it feels like the behaviour is less likely to appear. If I however use the brush for a longer period of time without lifting it or pausing, the spinning ring will most definitely appear. It's like Photoshop buffers all my brush movements and then somehow chokes. I could get the spinning beach ball in earlier versions as well but once Photoshop so to say had catched up I could continue working. Now it chokes and I have to force quit.
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64 Operating System: Mac OS 10.7.4 System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:26, Stepping:5 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, HyperThreading Physical processor count: 8 Logical processor count: 16 [code]...
When I open ps cc it completely hangs. No menus will open. Cannot even close without using task manager. Should I just reload? How do I delete the old version?
I've checked the forums and cant find anything quite like this...I've just installed (and updated) PS CS4 on a Vista x64 system - PS opens and seems to run just fine until I go to open an image (any image) - the image comes up but stays fuzzy and the program locks up and has to be terminated... this happens with both the 32bit and 64bit versions. I've tried turning off/on GPU acceleraton - ive tried changing parameters in the nvidia control panel - nothing seems to work... the workstation has two displays with oldish dual Quadro FX 3400 cards (no SLI) with the latest nvidia drivers and they seem to work very well for everything else... its a puzzle... short of trying different GPU's (which I dont have), what can be done?
System is a Core 2 Duo 6700 with 4GB, XP2 Pro SP3.
Installing PS CS4 upgrade over CS3.
Downloaded file unpacks OK, but when running Setup the Checking System Profile bar gets to about 90% the PS Setup window flashes up for barely a second, then the install hangs, ie no further progress with the Checking System Profile (left if for 20 mins or so).
I've downloaded and run a new CS4 upgrade file from Adobe store. No change.
I'm trying to install Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 from the DVD on my computer running Vista. Both installations hang and stall at an early point of installation. The computer then freezes and I have to force shut down.
I am running Snow Leopard with 8G ram on a 2009 Macbook Pro and CS6. Everytime I go to save or do a save as I just get the spinning beach ball and have to force quit PS. I do get the message PS not responding. I have reset the prefrences, have uninsalled and reinstalled CS6 but the same thing happens. I had no problems with CS5. I am running PS 13.0.4x64 bit.
The progress bar makes it about 1/10th of the way and then CC just hangs.
Fortunately, I still have CS6 and it works just fine and dandy, type tool and all. This is all rather frustrating though, since I'm paying for CC and this didn't use to happen. As far as I can tell, CC and all my Adobe CC apps are up to date.
My Windows 7 Adobe CS6 v13.0.1 x64 hangs when loading a file. However the CS6 v13.0.1 x32 application runs correctly. Do I need to re-install Adobe CS6 Upgarde?
I have 5 images I select to make a panorama. Usiing PS CC 64 bit on Windows 7 OS, File/Automate/Photomerge works fine. But when I try to select the photos in LR 5 and Edit in/Merge to Panorama in PS, it opens PS CC and loads the 5 images and opens the Photomerge dialog box as I would expect, but when I click OK it begins the merge process and hangs up and PS stops working. So I can get "photomerge" to work if I choose the images directly from PS, but not when I send the images to PS from LR.
I've never had a problem with this process with CS 5 or CS6.
Just installed Photoshop CS6 Extended on two 64 bit Windows 7 machines. One went fine--a clean install on a workstation with no prior CS versions.
Second machine, a laptop, not so good. The 64 bit version hangs as soon as I try to open a file, even using File > New. The program is totally hung and nonresponsive at that point. But the 32 bit version works fine.
Both machines are running 64 bit Win 7, SP1, autoupdated. The second machine had Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 8 still present when I first installed CS6. When the 'hang' first happened, I uninstalled both, and then reinstalled CS6. Problem persisted. Unistalled and reinstalled CS6 again after reboot.
I'm going to describe this as best as I can: I have Design Premium CS3 installed for a couple of days now on my new Vista64 Home Premium, and it was working perfectly until today. I installed: Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop CS3, Acrobat 8 out of the complete package. Suddenlty today, Photoshop will hang when I try to open it.
Not even the intro screen appears, but the process can be seen in the task manager (processes tab), still open, but with a particular memory size: 4740 k (it doesn't change or nothing). CPU usage is at 00. It won't show in the application manager. The thing is, all the rest of the apps I installed work perfectly. Only PS is giving me this trouble. Code:
I have PhotoShop Elements 8 (boxed DVD) installed on a HP Elite desktop with Intel i-core 7 processor with Windows 7 - 64 bit operating system. The PSE 8 organizer will not load and hangs up. The editior, however, loads. Unistalled and reinstalled the software and the results are the same.
When downloading photos off a SD card, Photo Downloader will occasionally hang. Doesn't happen all the time. I need to go to Activity Monitor and Force Quit the Photo Downloader, which is showing the status Not Responding.
Photoshop Elements Organizer then hangs and I have to shoot this process as well. Also showing Not Responding. Restart Photoshop Elements Organizer and can see the photos that have been imported.
